Description
08-16-22 Inglewood City Council Meeting
C
C
D
Marvin
mccoy
second
district,
I'm
calling
about
because
or
actually
comment
on
consent.
Calendar
item
number
four-
I
don't
know
if
that's
a
new
police
contract,
but
the
contract
does
not
stop
the
fact
that
you
have
officers
transferring
to
other
departments.
So
if
you're
not
addressing
the
attrition-
and
it
looks
like
the
money
that
you
have
set
aside-
is
set
aside
for
future
years,
where's,
the
biting
money
also
come
to
find
out.
There
was
a
claim
that
was
filed
august
1st.
C
C
C
B
C
B
B
B
One
yes
mayor,
thank
you.
I
attended
councilwoman
fox
line
dancing
event
on
friday.
It
was
really
nice
to
see
all
of
our
community
members
out,
and
some
of
the
commissioners
were
out
angela
and
I
attended,
and
it
was
so
great
when
cinder
was
there
and
a
few
of
other
city
staff
members
attended,
and
it
was
a
really
really
nice
event.
Very
nice,
councilwoman
fog.
B
Then
also
saturday,
we
attended
my
staff
brandon
in
my
office
and
angela.
We
attended
the
annual
chili
cook-off,
hosted
by
council
member
padilla
and
councilman.
That
event
was
out
of
sight
as
well.
Our
community
came
out
showed
out.
Thank
you,
my
son
loved
it.
He
didn't
want
to
leave.
B
It
was
hard
to
pull
my
son
away,
but
I
mean
it
was
really
nice
to
see
everyone
there
and
thank
you
so
much
for
all
you
do
with
the
community.
Thank
you
and
then
also
mayor
in
on
a
sad
note.
Our
commissioner
gene
eldridge.
He
passed
away
last
wednesday,
and
so
I'm
asking
if
you
would
close
the
meeting
in
his
honor,
please
all
right.
Thank
you.
Mayor.
C
C
D
I
don't
have
three,
but
I'm
gonna.
Take
that
one
minute
I
gotta
comment
on
the
city
clerk
imposing
a
litmus
test
by
doing
something
that
the
council
to
me
only
has
the
right
to
do,
and
I
hear
all
these
candidates
yelling
that
they
qualify
for
the
measure,
but
you
guys
should
be
screaming
mad
that
she
created
a
litmus
test
by
saying
you
have
to
have
a
background
check
to
be
a
candidate.
D
C
Aren't
you
a
candidate
for
mayor
all
right,
all
right.
Are
there
any
our
speakers?
C
Well,
I
guess
we'll
close
clubbing
comment.
We're
now
down
to
council
comment,
councilman
dotson.
A
Right,
thank
you.
Thank
you.
So
thank
you.
So
much
for
everyone
who
came
out
and
joined
me
at
my
line
dancing
event.
It
was
a
get
healthy
event
all
fun
on
friday.
I
think
we
have
some
pictures
back
there.
Hopefully
we
do,
but
that
was
a
very
successful
on
friday
and
we
just
had
lots
of
fun
and
just
had
a
good
time.
We
had
a
dj.
I
want
to
thank
crenshaw
imperial
for
opening
up
their
shopping
center.
A
I
want
to
thank
la
care
and
blue
cross
blue
shield
cross
for
supporting
the
event
as
well
and
and
our
city
clerk
who
came
out
and
everybody
else,
so
we
just
had
a
good
time.
So,
thank
you
all
and
then
that
next
saturday
we
had
the
backpack
giveaway
and
I
partnered
with
our
newest
assembly
member
tina
mckenna
and
she
is
the
62nd
district
assembly
member.
We
had
a
great
time.
A
I
want
to
thank
the
mayor
and
all
the
council
members
for
coming
out
and
supporting
the
event
we
gave
out
over
500
backpacks,
just
an
amazing
day,
lots
of
fun.
The
kids
had
a
great
time
they're
starting
back
to
school.
I
know
some
of
the
kids
are
starting
back
to
school
this
week,
so
just
a
wonderful
opportunity
to
give
back
to
the
community
and
make
sure
our
babies
are
ready
for
school
and
also
I
attended
councilman
padilla's
his
picnic
as
well,
and
it
was
wonderful.
We
had
a
great
time.
C
A
I
had
the
well-known
root
beer
float,
so
it
was
lots
of
fun.
My
boys
had
a
great
time
they
were
running
around.
So
thank
you
so
much
for
putting
on
such
a
successful
and
fam
family-friendly
event.
It
was
very
nice.
Thank
you.
Thank
you
and
again
I
thank
you
so
much
city
clerk
for
closing
in
honor
of
gene
eldridge.
I
was
also
going
to
ask
if
we
can
close
this
meeting
in
honor
of
gene
eldridge
as
well,
who
passed
away
on
wednesday.
That's
all
I
have
thank
you.
E
E
E
Yeah,
no,
the
the
saturday
was
a
full
day,
amazing.
The
fact
that
there
was
three
major
events
and
all
of
them
were
so
well
attended.
Here
we
are
at
the
inglewood,
unified
school
district
here
in
craig
crenshaw
middle
school.
I
have
to
tell
you
you
know:
we
enjoy
a
unique
relationship
with
our
school
district
and
our
schools
that
that
again,
you
know
you,
you
heard
it
a
lot
throughout
the
day.
E
The
the
community
feel
everything
that
exists,
but
it
all
starts
with
us
talking
to
each
other
we're
hopeful
that
that
the
school
district
continues
to
be
in
a
positive
upswing,
so
it
was
nice
being
out
there
and
seeing
all
our
schools
and
all
all
the
kids,
especially
always
fun
with
the
band
from
there.
I
think
we
went
over
to
the
backpack
giveaway
that
councilwoman
fogg
did
with
the
assemblyman
assembly
woman,
tina
mckenna
there.
She
is,
and
you
know
it
was
it
was
just.
E
E
And
then,
of
course,
we
went
to
councilman
padilla's
big
bash,
which
was
amazing.
It's
gotten
better
every
year,
seventh
annual,
but
the
beauty
of
it
was
the
fact
that
you
know
we
all
were
enjoying
talking
to
the
folks.
You
know
I'm
always
amazed
that
folks
come
out
for
our
events,
but
I'm
always
amazed
even
more
so
how
sincere
they
are
and
happy
to
be
there.
You
know
it.
E
E
C
It
george,
you
still
want
some
time.
G
Oh
okay,
before
I
even
get
started,
I
want
to
congratulate
halima
ginyard
for
being
honored
this
past
weekend
by
the
national
conference
of
black
women
for
her
a
work
as
a
volunteer
at
the
ion
inglewood
and
the
chamber
of
commerce.
G
Now
I
also
attended
closure
school.
G
It
was
really
really
nice.
They
gave
everybody
something
even
the
kids
who
are
not
even
in
school.
They
had
diapers
out
there,
so
I
mean
you
know,
in
other
words,
they
thought
of
everybody.
They
didn't
leave
anybody
out,
kids
who
are
going
to
school.
They
even
had
guys
cutting
hair.
Now
it
don't
get
no
better
than
that.
So
I
want
to
thank
dr
taurus
for
inviting
us.
I
thank
you
very
much.
G
G
G
G
They
had
food
for
everybody,
so
my
hat's
off
to
mr
rogers
and
mrs
dean
and
my
head's
off
to
public
works.
They
they
come
not
me.
They
comment
complimented
you
guys
on
putting
up
the
the
fence
of
the
the
airca
yeah
up
and
then
coming
back
and
taking
them
down
that
they
were
really
impressed
with
that.
So
you
guys
can
be
proud
of
that
and
let's
see.
G
G
I
enjoyed
every
minute
of
it
and
I
can't
wait
for
his
next
party
and
the
next
thing
is.
G
Back
backpack
giveaway
now
this
was
something
special
too.
Now
you
talking
about
an
army
of
lion
people
I
mean
it
was
just
like
somebody
in
the
marine
corps
she
had
the
cars
all
lined
up.
G
F
G
Okay,
I
want
to
invite
all
of
you
out
to
my
day
in
the
park
come
out.
We
got
plenty
food,
we're
going
to
have
lots
of
games
even
the
seniors.
If
you
can
please
come
out,
we
got
games
for
you.
We
got
games
for
the
young
people
so
if
bring
your
kids
out
and
enjoy
a
family
day
in
the
park
with
councilman
dotson
with
that,
thank
you
so
much
for
having
me
here
and
letting
me
speak,
and
you
guys
have
a
wonderful
day.
C
Thank
you,
councilman
dodson,
council
made.
I
was
going
to
give
you
an
extra
minute
today,
but
councilman
dawson
has
taken
part
of
your
three.
So
you
only.
F
F
F
Look
no
again
just
hats
off
to
erica
torres
english,
unified,
school
district,
amazing
event,
saturday,
at
crozier,
the
community
came
out
to
support
everything
we're
doing
in
our
school
district.
We
are
really
moving
in
the
right
direction.
So
I
want
to
thank
dr
torres
and
her
leadership
team
for
all
that
they
do
in
our
community
and
all
they
do
working
with
the
school
staff
and
our
students,
our
children,
the
future
leaders
of
this
community
and
she's
done
a
tremendous
job
and
the
teachers.
F
F
So
their
kids
can
get
the
quality
education
that
they
deserve
and
they're
going
to
get
it
right
here
at
the
inglewood
unified
school
district
from
there
we
all
headed
over
to
council
member
fox,
big
shindig,
her
backpack,
giveaway
and-
and
I
got
to
tell
you
when
you
look
inside
the
cars
and
a
lot
of
these
parents
brought
their
kids
with
them.
I
don't
know
if
that
was
a
requirement
or
not,
but
but
let
me
tell
you,
those
kids
were
all
excited
man,
you
had
them
a
backpack
and
it
was
like
christmas.
F
You
know
like
christmas.
In
august
I
mean
they
were
excited,
and
so
it
was
just
good
to
see
the
smiles
on
these
kids
faces.
When
you
give
them
the
backpack,
they
opened
it
up.
They
had
school
supplies
again
we're
helping
our
families
and
our
children
get
the
quality
education
that
they
deserve
and
we're
doing.
F
In
englewood
from
there
the
mayor
and
I
had
an
opportunity
to
head
over
to
marty
morales
of
one
for
all
foundations,
scholarship
presentation
that
was
over
at
ed
vincent
park
in
the
veterans
building
and
she
gave
out
damn
it
was
like
57.
F
I
mean
it
amazing,
and
these
kids
were-
and
I
don't
want
to
say,
kids,
these
young
adults,
these
students
that
were
there
wearing
their
cap
and
gowns.
I
mean
just
very
proud
to
have
graduated
and
moving
on
to
college.
You
know,
or
some
of
them
moving
on
to
a
trade
school.
You
know.
So
it
was
just
good
to
see
the
family
that
came
out
to
support
them.
The
mayor
was
able
to
get
up
there
and
welcome
everybody
and
say
a
few
words
and
everyone.
F
Picture-
and
it
was
just
just-
came
out
really
nice
and
I
mean
I,
I
think
every
kid
got
the
minimum
of
I'm
saying:
500
bucks
up
to
a
thousand
and
if
not
more
and
so,
marty
morales.
F
I
just
want
to
say
I
mean
words,
can't
express
my
gratitude,
my
appreciation
for
the
community
that
we
have.
We
had
a
donor
that
donated
those
bicycles
and
and
scooters
that
were
there,
the
kids
loved
them.
I
mean
we
even
had
a
parent
show
up
with
with
their
eight-month-old
nine-month-old
kid
that
won
the
smallest
bike,
and
I
was
like
perfect.
This
kid
will
be
ready
when
it's
you
know
it's
their
time.
F
We
had,
I
think
10
or
12
folks
participate
in
the
chili
cook-off.
It
was
the
you
know
the
most
attended
picnic
and
chili
cook-off
that
we've
ever
had.
It
was
our
seventh
year
we
had
been
dark
for
a
couple
and
our
community
was
ready,
they
came
out
and
they
showed
up
and
they
had
fun,
and
you
can
see
by
the
pictures.
Everybody
enjoyed
themselves
the
smiles
on
people's
faces.
I
want
to
thank
everybody
up
here
on
the
dyess,
our
staff,
all
the
the
department
heads
that
showed
up
to
support
the
community.
F
It's
nice,
because
the
residents
and
the
community
get
to
have
one-on-one
time
kind
of
back
to
what
eloy
said
it's
important
because
they
get
to.
You
know,
meet
you
away
from
the
office
and
they
value
that
and
we
as
well,
you
know,
so
it
was
really
nice.
I
want
to
thank
my
committee,
real
quick.
If
I
can
get
one
minute
mayor.
Oh.
F
So
I
just
want
to
real
quick
thank
my
assistant,
ramon
quinones.
He
did
a
great
job
getting
all
this
together.
You
know
I
mean
thank
you
ramon.
I
want
to
thank
my
wife
stella.
She
helped
coordinate
a
lot
got
there
early
in
the
morning
to
make
sure
everything
was
set
up
right,
and
I
want
to
thank
cheryl
haywood,
who
did
this
help
with
the
servant
of
all
the
food
patricia
sanchez
that
was
out
there
as
well
jacob
ferguso?
Who
is
my
parks
and
rec,
commissioner?
That
was
there
from
start
to
finish.
F
That
was
on
the
committee
as
well:
angie
carrera,
olivia
alvitre
amber
turgerson.
So
if
you,
when
you
showed
up
you
signed
in
and
and
my
welcome
committee
was
amber
and
angie
and
they
did
a
great
job,
I
know
they
got
tired
at
the
end
of
the
day.
They
were
like
we're
done,
you
know,
but
everybody
did
a
really
great
job.
We
we
then
finished
it
with
the
movie
in
the
park
and
I
didn't
realize
how
many
folks
were
gonna
show
up
for.
F
In
the
park,
I
think
they
estimated
about
350
people
for
just
the
movie
in
the
park
aspect
of
it.
You
know
so
kudos
to
our
parks,
from
rec
staff,
to
sabrina
and
and
teresa
for
for
all
their
work
and
and
getting
all
their
folks
there
to
make
that
event
a
huge
success.
So
again,
I
want
to
just
finally
say
thank
you
to
our
community.
F
C
Said
so
so
I
I
I'm
just
gonna,
I'm
just
gonna
say
this,
so
I
went
to
four
backpack
giveaways
on
saturday.
It
was
one
one
at
the
kia
form.
I
went
to
alex's
picnic
and
then
they
had
second
saturday
at
the
miracle
theater
okay.
So
I
was
gone
from
nine
in
the
morning
to
about
8
30
at
night.
But
let
me
let
me
tell
you
what
I
got
from
all
this
and
I'm
going
to
tell
you
about
wrestlemania
when
I'm
done.
C
I
had
them
filled
tomorrow,
beer
in
it
englewood
has
evolved
over
this
last
eight
or
nine
years,
and
it
was
more
reminiscent
saturday
of
something
out
of
andy
of
mayberry
or
mayberry
rfd,
and
by
that
I
don't
mean
demographically,
I
mean
wholesomeness,
sincere
appreciation
of
the
community,
sincere
fellowship
of
everybody
at
every
event
the
parents
drove
through
the
line,
and-
and
I
will
tell
you
that-
was
very
efficient-
putting
the
number
of
backpacks
on
the
windshield
of
the
car
that
was
very,
very
wise
and
the
fact
that
they
had
all
the
parents
had
kids
with
them
and
the
kids
were
happy.
C
It
was,
it
was
beautiful,
alex's
event,
just
you
know
everybody
just
feeling
it
and-
and
I
just
I-
I
give
some
of
that
to
alex,
because
you
know
he's
really
out
there
with
the
community.
He's
got
some
great
residents,
but
this
is
just
an
evolution
in
the
city.
You
know
proud
of
that,
and
the
only
thing
that
I
did
by
myself,
wrestlemania
live
streamed.
C
Their
promo
of
wrestlemania
is
coming
in
march
of
2023
and
they
invited
me
for
the
kickoff,
and
so
that's
me
up
there
with
the
wrestlemania
sign,
I'm
very
proud
of
that.
We
just
have
so
many
things
coming,
but
the
main
thing
that
we
have
going
is
we
have
great
community
synergy
and
I've
been
around
the
city
of
england
since
1972
and
I've
never
seen
such
great
community
synergy
and
with
that
we're
going
to
close
in
the
name
of
gene
eldridge,
he
was
a
parking
traffic.
C
Commissioner
and
most
people
don't
know
this,
but
he
had
a
lock
shop
on
sentinela
all
the
way
back
to
the
80s.
I
knew
that
because,
when
I
moved
back
this
way
from
carson,
he
was
my
locksmith
and
just
a
really
really
great
guy.
I
want
to
thank
mari
morales
for
all
that,
she's
done
and-
and
I
I
don't
know
if
these
are
ramones
or
or
our
crews.
C
If
there
are
crews,
I
apologize
for
taking
credit
from
you
because
they
they
do
a
great
job,
our
video
crew,
and
they
don't
get
acknowledged
enough,
because
you
know
what
they're
doing
they're
recording
the
history
of
the
city.
They're
recording
the
evolution
of
inglewood
from
the
england
that
had
what
no
money
in
a
bank
eloy
that
had
sinkholes
that
just
really
was
just
hanging
on
to
where
we
are
now
where
we
can
give
our
residents
what
they
deserve.
So
I
want
to
congratulate
the
video
crew
too,
and
I'm
gonna
say
we're
adjourned.
