Description
Mayor James T. Butts along with LA County Administrator for the Inglewood Unified School District provide city and school district related updates to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the Inglewood community.
A
Hello
Ingrid
our
mayor
James,
but
Sam
coronavirus,
technical
name,
kovat
19,
the
governor
released
a
new
one-stop
website
for
kovat
19
resources.
This
is
the
substantial
source
of
information,
including
unemployment
and
paid
sick
leave,
along
with
small
business
assistance.
This
website
will
tell
you
how
to
one
apply
for
unemployment,
to
apply
for
disability
benefits.
3
apply
for
paid
family
leave.
We
continue
to
partner
with
the
governor's
office.
The
California
Office
of
Emergency
Services
is
securing
additional
information
about
many
different
questions
being
asked
about
community
operations
and
statutory
requirements.
A
We
will
update
you
as
we
get
further
information.
Meanwhile,
at
the
White
House,
the
president
announced
a
number
of
items.
He
will
invoke
the
defense
production
Act,
which
gives
the
president
broad
authority
to
ask
private
manufacturers
to
produce
needed
supplies
to
combat
kovat.
19
FEMA
is
deploying
to
every
region
of
the
country
and
at
level
1
the
highest
level.
A
The
Department
of
Housing
over
development
is
providing
immediate
relief
to
renters
and
homeowners
by
suspending
all
foreclosures
and
evictions
until
the
end
of
April
Inglewood
is
in
compliance
with
the
restrictions
placed
upon
businesses
by
the
LA
County
Health
Department,
which
demand
the
following
that
gyms
and
fitness
centers
remain
closed.
That
bars
that
do
not
serve
takeout
food
remain
closed.
Lastly,
the
theaters
bowling
alleys
and
other
entertainment
venues
remain
closed.
A
The
order
further
restricts
and
limits
the
galleries
of
persons
and
require
the
closure
of
malls
shopping,
centers,
children's
playgrounds
and
non-essential
retail
businesses
in
an
effort
to
stem
or
slow
the
spread
of
the
virus
within
the
Greater
Los
Angeles
community
because
of
the
continued
rapid
spread
of
kovat
19
and
the
need
to
protect
the
most
vulnerable
members
of
our
community.
This
order
prohibits
all
indoor,
public
and
private
gatherings
and
all
outdoor
public
and
private
events
within
a
confined
space,
where
more
than
nine
people
are
expected
to
be
in
attendance.
A
The
order
applies
within
the
County
of
Los
Angeles
Public
Health
jurisdiction,
beginning
at
11:59
p.m.
March.
19
2020
continues
through
April
19-20
20,
subject
to
the
terms
and
conditions
more
particularly
set
forth
following
for
all
gatherings
that
are
not
prohibited
and
for
all
essential
businesses.
A
That
contains
at
least
60%
alcohol
post
a
sign
in
a
conspicuous
place
at
the
public
entry
to
the
venue
instructing
members
of
the
public
to
not
attend
if
they
are
experiencing
respiratory
illness,
including
fever,
cough
and
adhere
to
communicable
disease
control
recommendations
provided
by
the
Los
Angeles
County
Department
of
Health.
As
a
point
of
clarity,
this
order
does
not
prohibit
any
individual
or
family
from
outdoor
activities
such
as
hiking
walking
shopping
or
essential
businesses,
including
grocery
stores
and
restaurants,
offering
delivery,
drive-through
or
carryout
service.
A
So
long
as
all
persons
practice
social
distancing
to
the
extent
practicable,
there
is
a
discussion
that
the
county
is
considering
expanding
business
closures,
but
that
is
all
for
now,
as
a
final
note,
together
will
emerge
from
this
period
of
emergency
stronger
and
more
resilient
than
ever.
With
me
today
is
dr.
Erica
