Description
Blue Ribbon Committee Meeting for People with Disabilities 031622
A
A
So
the
first
I'm
calling
the
meeting
to
order
and
the
first
thing
that
we
need
to
do
second
item
on
the
agendas
to
review
and
approve
the
minutes
of
february
16th.
If
you
all
could
look
at
those,
they
were
sent
to
you
all.
I
guess
numerous
or
several
times
over
the
last
several
weeks.
So
if
you
all
can
take
a
look
at
those
and
provide
us
with
any
feedback
or
changes
and
reviews
edits,
I
I
do
want
to
make
a
I
guess
for
tiffany
we're
not
we're.
A
A
A
D
I
finally
can
I
had
to
I
had
to
relaunch.
E
A
A
Yes,
sir,
I
could
hear
you
okay,
I
guess
here
I
guess
we
could
assume
that
you've
signed
up
for
public
comments.
So
if
you
want
to
go
first
and
let
us
know
about
you,
know,
first
of
all,
we'll
have
a
community
and
just
let
us
know
any
information
that
you
would
like
us
to
disclose
or
disseminate
on
your
behalf.
F
Good
morning
to
everyone,
thank
you
for
your
time
and
allowing
me
to
give
you
some
little
bit
of
information
about
the
program
that
I
represent.
I
am
the
program
manager
for
value
association
for
independent,
independent
living
of
south
texas.
It's
a
long
name,
but
we
basically
go
by
bill.
F
F
F
We
offer
independent
living
skills
and
we
all
we
educate
the
families
and
the
individuals
on
how
to
advocate
for
themselves
through
self-advocacy
and
system
skills,
and
we
also
provide
transition
services
for
any
family
members
or
any
individuals
that
are
coming
out
of
high
school
and
they're
ready
to
take
the
next
step,
whether
it
be
towards
education
or
towards
the
source
of
career
or
entering
the
work
environment.
F
We
also
offer
peer
counseling.
This
is
a
service,
that's
kind
of
been
on
hold
with
everything
with
covert,
but
we
hope
to
soon
restarted
peer
counseling.
F
We
try
to
have
like
a
group
meeting
where
individuals
with
similar
disabilities
or
experiences
can
meet
together
and
just
talk
about
any
issues
or
concerns
that
they
may
have
most
of
our
demographics
or
individuals
that
come
for
our
systems
come
for
our
in-house
program,
which
is
a
program
that
is
designed
to
assist
people
in
purchasing
medical
equipment
that
they
may
need,
or
any
assisted
devices
that
they
need
to
be
able
to
live
more
independently
and
the
range
of
items
that
we
could
help
out.
F
An
individual
ranges
from
wheelchairs
to
walkers
to
small
home
modifications
such
as
widening
the
doors
for
wheelchairs
to
be
able
to
go
in.
We
can
help
out
with
like
hearing
aids,
prosthetics
we're
funded
by
the
state
of
we're
funded
by
the
state
of
texas.
So
the
only
cash
to
that
is
what
I
always
tell
my
client
is
that
there
is
a
wait
list
and
you
know
if
the
process
is
a
little
bit
lengthy,
but
eventually
we
do
help
out
them.
F
Sorry
and
those
are
the
type
of
services
that
we
offer
as
soon
as
I
get
a
chance,
I'll
go
ahead
and
put
my
information
on
the
chat.
So
if
anyone
has
any
more
questions
or
any
more
concerns
of
our
program
feel
free
to
reach
out
to
us
via
email,
if
you
need
any
of
our
brochures,
I
can
send
you
a
pdf
file
or
you
on
hand
paper.
I
could
go
ahead
and
drop
them
off
at
their
office
or
anything
such
as
that.
F
Correct
we're
funded
we're
under
hhcc,
so
we're
funded
by
them.
I
don't
know
by
any
chance
if
there's
anyone
here
from
the
texas
vrs
or
so
basically,
if
an
individual
and
correct
me
wrong,
but
if
there's
an
individual,
that's
seeking
employment,
ready
to
get
back
to
work
or
has
the
interest
of
going
back
to
work.
The
texas
drs
will
assist
those
individuals
or
we
refer
those
individuals
also
to
check
the
vrs
for
any
individual.
F
That
is
not
ready
to
go
back
to
where
their
disability
is
preventing
them
from
work
or
have
decided
just
not
to
return
to
the
to
the
workforce.
Our
organizations
or
the
center
for
independent
living
around
texas
help
out
those
individuals.
A
A
A
B
Can
I
can
I
add,
I
I
actually
have
you
utilize
the
services
from
avail.
I
had
a
customer
who
was
hearing
impaired
and
she
was
working
in
a
location.
She
needed
a
communication
device.
The
vr
program
he's
smiling
because
he
remembers
me.
The
the
the
vr
program
purchased
the
iphone
that
she
needed
and
vel
provided
assistance
with
translation
during
the
process
of
trying
to
figure
out
exactly
what
we
could
do
to
collaborate.
B
So
the
employee
who
was
always
like
I
said,
was
hearing
impaired,
would
be
or
death
basically
because
she
she
can't
hear
she
could
receive
services,
and
there
was
one
time
where
I
couldn't
be
there
to
assist
that
process
and
veil
completely
took
over
and
assisted
with
the
setting
up
of
the
device
having
the
device
transferred.
I
mean
the
whole
work,
so
it's
a
amazing
service
for
populations
that
are
in
need.
A
Okay
and
the
other,
the
other
part
to
this
is,
I
don't
know
if
you're
aware
that
we
kind
of
post
other
resources
that
are
available
to
individuals
with
disabilities
on
our
website,
and
so
it
doesn't
come.
I
was
asking
you
if
you
were
publicly
funded
or
privately
owned,
because
if
you
are
publicly
funded,
we
could
place
your
organization
in
our
website.
F
That
would
be
great
if
anyone's
familiar
with
the
name.
I
believe
stars,
that's
what
the
name
of
the
program
used
to
be
named.
They
used
to
be
located
on
corpus,
christi
and
honestly
around
market.
I
don't
remember
the
street
that
runs
through
there,
but
I
know
this
program
has
been
in
laredo,
for
I
want
to
say
close
to
10
years
it
just
it
hasn't
the
previous
individuals
before
hadn't
done
that
much
of
an
outreach.
A
G
I'm
interested
in
maybe
even
visiting
visit
us
and
maybe
maybe
we
can
set
up
meeting
we've
worked
with
bail
before
and
after
the
pandemic
started.
We
weren't
able
to
communicate
with
you
all
anymore,
but
you
all
were
able
to
help
several
of
our
patients
in
a
very
positive
way.
So
we
would
like
to
continue
that
with.
C
So
if
you
would
put
your
contact
information
in
the
chat,
that'd
be
great
so
that
I
can
retrieve
that
and
then
you-
and
I
can
have
a
conversation
later-
if
that's
okay
with
you.
Thank
you.
F
A
F
No
not
at
the
moment
I'll
go
ahead
and
put
in
my
information
and
if
anyone
has
any
questions
or
any
concerns,
feel
free
to
hello
a
little
bit
better.
H
H
Okay,
okay,
so
I
just
wanted
to
chime
in
so
just
give
a
little
background.
So
vr
does
work
has
worked
very
closely
with
vail
in
the
past.
Like
mrs
gutierrez
reported
tear
the
veil
specifies
in
the
disability
of
deaf
hard
of
hearing
and
so
vr
kind
of
runs,
the
gamut
of
disabilities
any
and
all,
and
so
I
used
to
work
very
closely.
H
F
Yes-
and
I
do
remember
that
meeting,
she
is
with
our
program
she's
the
only
thing
she's
out
of
our
mcallen
office
and
I
think
right
now.
At
the
moment
I
still
have
a
relationship
and
we're
still
in
contact
with
one
of
your
staff
members,
mr
carlos.
H
H
When
we
had
when
vr
had
our
program
reorganization
back
in
october
of
2017,
we
actually
used
to
have
the
independent
living
as
part
of
vr,
but
then
they
contracted
those
services
out
and
basically
the
difference
between
independent
living
and
our
vr
customers.
Is
that
independent
rvr
customers?
It's
always
about
employment,
that's
always
the
goal,
but
with
our
independent
living
services,
it
was
about
independence
in
the
home
or.
H
And
so
vr
relinquished
that
program
and
vail
took
that
program
on,
and
so
now
they
assist
the
community
with
those
independent
living
services
that
vr
used
to
do
in
the
past.
When
we
were
dars.
A
C
Real
quick,
mr
mindy,
now
this
is
some
diana
sanchez
again.
Are
you
have
you
moved?
Are
you
in
the
same
location.
F
Let
me
go
ahead
and
put
my
address.
Our
address
right
now
is
709
alta
vista
drive,
okay,
basically
you're
my
person
near
the
public
library,
there's
an
autozone
and
our
office
is
right
behind
them.
That's
the
best
way
to
describe
these
okay.
C
A
A
J
A
J
Good
morning,
everyone,
I
have
a
brief
report.
Well
I
I
say
brief,
but
sometimes
it's
a
little
long,
but
stop
me
or
ask
me
any
questions
in
between.
If
you
have
any
our
program
connected
with
santa
rosa's
children's
hospital
this
past
week,
the
program
looks
forward
to
making
a
visit
to
the
children's
hospital
this
year
to
learn
more
about
services
that
they
host
again
with
this.
J
With
this
in
mind,
we
have
a
go
within
our
program
to
connect
with
the
santa
rosa
children's
hospital
to
one
learn
about
the
services
that
they
have
and
then
two
seeing
if
we
could
possibly
link
them,
link
services
to
laredo
texas
right
now,
we're
working
on
a
phase
one
which
is
the
just
the
visits
for
now
to
get
to
know
the
hospital.
So
we're
working
on
that.
For
this
year
our
staff
attended
a
2022
pediatric
health
brain
health
summit.
The
summit
focused
on
building
stronger
connections
with
providers
and
community
organizations.
J
J
J
A
J
There's
two
groups
that
I
do
follow.
I
know
one
is
a
nonprofit,
I'm
not
sure
on
the
other
group
community
support
group,
but
yes,
there's
laredo
autism
community
and
then
also
families
for
autism,
support
and
awareness.
J
So
those
are
two
groups
that
I
do
connect
with
and
I
share
the
information
with
and
then
we
do
share
our
flyers
and
information
via
social
media
for
any
families
that
we
might
have
that
are
not
part
of
the
community
support
groups.
J
We
do
share
them.
Thankfully
we
have
contact
information
from
the
two
organizations
and
we
share
email
and
then
the
conversation,
the
information
that
we
have
coming
up
for
april,
but
of
course,
throughout
the
year
we
do
still
could
keep
good
connection
with
them
in
case
there's
any
information
that
we
can
share
with
them
in
resources.
J
J
Our
staff
has
continued
to
participate
in
the
texas
council
for
developmental
disabilities,
texas
partners
and
policymaking
sessions.
I
was
able
to
meet
with
our
tcdd
state
coordinators
and
staff
in
regards
to
the
graduation,
which
I'm
excited
to
announce,
and
we
had
a
scheduled
meeting
with
senator
zaparini.
For
my
introduction.
It
was
a
very
productive
meeting.
J
It
was
very
motivating,
motivating
to
learn
more
about
new
policies
as
well
as
senate
bills
that
hopefully,
will
be
passed
so
that
children,
young
adults
and
that
have
developmental
disabilities
or
even
in
the
school
system,
have
more
opportunities
for
resources
and
funding
for
trainings
for
caregivers,
the
program
created
educational
fires
and
videos
for
the
following.
For
this
month
we
did
a
medical
home,
education,
fire
and
education
101
on
medical
homes.
J
We've
also
provided
spring
break
activities
that
include
bubble
therapy
posts,
tips
on
transition,
transitioning
back
to
school
tips
on
to
keep
a
healthy
schedule
during
the
spring
break
and
water
safety,
our
water
safety
flyers.
I'm
sorry,
our
video
will
be
posted
every
spring
break,
as
well
as
before
the
summer
break
and
throughout
summer.
J
I
know
last
year
we
did
have
an
incident
and
it
incorporated
a
child
with
a
developmental
disability,
so
we
want
to
make
sure
and
provide
the
free
resources
and
information
and
then
also
connect
parents
with
the
resources
information
for
water
safety.
J
Oh,
yes,
a
bubble
therapy,
it's
a
recreational
affair.
It's
a
therapeutic
recreation
activity.
We
are
educating
through
social
media
that
bubbles-
I
know.
Sometimes
we
take
bubbles
for
granted.
J
I
think
they're
so
cute,
but
kids,
love
them
and
the
benefits
of
them
when
it
comes
to
motor
skills
being
able
to
implement
speech,
speech
therapy
and
through
it
and
then
also
it
being
valuable
for
physical
therapy.
We
were
just
educating
the
family
that
something
so
it's
economical.
It's
fun
for
the
kids
can
benefit
them
with
their
physical
activity
as
well,
and
the
overall
health
and
wellness
you
just
have
to
be
creative
with
it.
So
we
give
out
tips
today.
I
believe
they
posted
it
yesterday
because
we
will
be.
J
We
have
a
station
outside
the
kite
festival
and
our
station,
which
is
the
children.
Young,
adult
special
healthcare
needs.
Booth
will
be
promoting
bubble
therapy
and
I
have
bubbles
there
for
kids
and
just
to
teach
them
the
benefits
and
the
families
and
then
to
introduce
them
to
our
program.
J
A
Okay,
the
next
item
we
have
is
item
b,
which
is
review
and
update
on
services
for
people
with
disabilities
and
any
other
newer
additional
services
as
a
result
of
or
in
response
to
kobe
19
pandemic.
One
of
the
things
I'd
like
to
ask
eric
that
you
might
be
more
informed
than
we
are.
How
is
the
city
of
laredo
doing
with
regards
to
the
pandemic
and
our
numbers,
and
is
it
going
down
or
is
there
anything
else
that
we
need
to
know?
If
there
is,
is
there
a
potential
resurgence
of
another
buyer?
I
E
The
report
is
that
our
cases
are
down
and
transmission
is
down,
so
we
are
seeing
a
trend
from
cdc
to
relax
some
of
the
measures
and
I
know,
there's
been
you
know.
E
From
worldwide
some
changes,
depending
on
you,
know
the
thor
incidents
of
cases.
At
this
time,
the
muses
were
waiting
for
the
pediatric
vaccines
to
be
approved
for
five
and
under,
and
we
are
seeing
a
connection
on
due
to
the
of
the
methods
that
were
utilized
to
develop
the
code
vaccine.
We
are
now
seeing
that
used
to
for
the
development
of
an
hiv
prevention
effect
so
to
eradicate
that
that
virus.
E
So
those
those
are
the
reports
that
I've
seen
most
recently
dr
timberland
did
share
that
I'm
forgetting
to
stay,
but
we
are
seeing,
like
I
said,
relaxed.
E
Seeing
the
lower
cases
you
know
we
keep
encouraging
vaccination,
we
have
a
lot
of
events
going
on
in
the
community.
We
have
our
mobile
bus
and
we
continue
to
do
testing,
but
we
do
see
that
there's
a
lower
demand
for
that
as
well.
A
In
the
latter
part
of
the
pandemic,
in
the
latter
several
months
ago,
the
city
of
loretto
had
acquired
the
machinery
or
the
technology
to
identify
variants
or
something
you
all
were
waiting
for:
technical
assistance
or
instruction
or
education
from
the
back
from
the
manufacturer,
or
something
like
that.
Whatever
happened
to
that.
E
So
we
have
it
at
the
at
our
facility.
We
have
our
sequencer,
we
are
working
with
the
vendor
to
get
our
staff
trained.
I
believe
that
already
happened
a
couple
of
weeks
ago.
What
we
are
seeing
a
challenge
with
is
in
the
acquisition
of
the
reagents,
so
the
products
needed
to
run
the
test.
We
are
seeing
us.
You
know
the
world
deals
with
supply
chain
issues
that
has
been
a
little
bit
of
a
challenge,
but
we
are
ready
to
go
as
soon.
E
E
This
point
we
continue
to
monitor,
but
I
mean
like
with
everything
else
in
the
pandemic:
there's
a
lot
of
unknowns,
but
you
have
a
fully
equipped
epidemiology
piece
that
any
recommendations
that
would
would
be
provided
moving
forward.
Those
would
come
out
of
our
home.
C
Thank
you,
yeah
and
I'll.
Just
chime
in
this
is
diana.
Would
you
get
the
reports
daily
right
from
both
hospitals,
mercy
and
doctors
and
they
do
have
covered
patients,
not
significant
right,
which
I'm
sure
erica
gets
those
reports
too?
But
but
there
are
still,
you
know,
covert
patients.
C
So
we
just
need
to
continue
with
our
precautions
as
we
have
been
right,
but
yeah,
it's
not
drastic,
but
there
there
are
cases
right.
H
Hi,
oh
yesterday,
I
saw
on
the
news
with
lester
holt
that
pfizer
was
developing
a
second
booster
for
individuals
over
the
age
of
65
have
erica
or
mrs
sanchez
have
any
of
you
heard
anything
about
that.
The
second
booster.
E
Pharmaceutical
companies
there
has
been
a
talk
of
perhaps
every
six
months
or
annually,
like
we
do
the
flu
shot,
but
we're
just
waiting
on
the
final
determination
of
what
the
guidelines
are
going
to
be.
I
know
the
terminology
with
cdc
has
changed
from
it's
no
longer
fully
vaccinated,
it's
just
you're
up
to
date
with
your
vaccinations,
similar
to
any
other
vaccine
that
is
administered
because
of
the
changing
nature,
but
it
is
looking
like,
like
I
said
like
with
the
flu,
there
would
be
the
need
for
somebody
important.
A
The
next
item
that
we
have
is
discuss
any
possible
action
of
any
to
better
protect
the
health
of
people
with
disabilities
being
threatened
by
the
ethylene
oxide
released
by
the
sterilization
plan.
I
know
that
there
was
a
of
support
that
we
were
forwarding
to
the
city
council
in
support
of
their
request
for
a
grant
from
the
from
the
federal
government
or
the
state
to
initiate
a
study
to
identify
the
injuries
or
damages
or
or
potential
harm,
dr
ruth
inch,
I
know
that
you
sent
us
a
video
by
the
way
it
was
very
informative.
A
And-
and
I
know-
and
I
right
before
going
on-
I
had
spoken
to
tiffany
because
I
had
I
I
was
under
the
impression
that
I
had
seen
the
letters,
but
then
I
couldn't
find
them.
So
I
was
like
asking
her
about
them
right
now,
but
erica
I'm
when
he
assures
me
that
they
were
sent
to
us.
So
let
me
look
for
them
so
that
we
can
get
them
signed.
So
we
can
forward
those
to
the
city
council.
E
As
well
continue
to
work
with
you
to
have
that
form
finalized,
we
continue
to
work
on
the
grants.
Also
for
this
initiative.
I
know
staff
did
submit.
I
believe
last
week
to
epa
the
grant
application,
and
I
know
there
was
also
some
questions.
E
On
the
monitoring
equipment
that
is
used
for
air
quality,
we
are
talking
to
epa
on
best
practices
for
that
and
what
what
would
be
the
best
you
know
investment.
However,
our
approach,
especially
in
applying
for
this
grant,
is
contracting
with
a
vendor
that
would
monitor
to
kind
of
have.
I
G
E
Third-Party
organization
that
would
monitor
and
report
to
us
in
terms
of
air
quality.
D
One
of
the
things
that
I
found
interesting
was-
and
I
don't
know
if
the
video
I
sent
included
that
but
the
report.
D
Stated
that
what
is
online
with
this
particular
sterilization
company,
they
basically
have
a
representative
stating
that
they're
very
careful
whenever
they're
in
any
community
they're
extremely
careful
and
they
do
monitor
air
quality
along
fence
line,
but
there's
also
an
interview
where
they
say
well.
No,
we
don't
do
that
because
anyway,
it's
ineffective,
but
the
web.
The
web
page
has
pictures
indicating
that
they
do
monitor
and
it's
interesting
to
know
that
those
places
are
ukraine,
belarus
and
places
like
that.
D
But
if
you
actually
interview
the
people
that
are
presently
in
the
united
states
and,
more
importantly
in
our
community,
they
actually
don't
and
they
don't
monitor
the
air
quality.
They
don't
and
to
me,
that's
a
major
red
flag
and
it's
a
9-1-1
to
me,
because
if
you
consider
that
the
community
has
been
exposed
to
cancer-causing
agents
to
the
tune
of
thousands
of
pounds
per
year
since
the
year,
2005.
D
think
about
that
all
of
us,
since
the
year
2005
have
been
breathing
in
carcinogens
further
there's
data
that
shows
that
for
little
children
who
grow
up
in
places
that
have
this
ethylene
in
the
air
it
damages
their
dna.
D
For
me,
this
is
not
anything
to
take
lightly
and
I
hate
to
be.
You
know
an
alarmist.
I
guess,
but
I
to
me
this
is
something
that
we
need
to
move
forward
on
as
as
soon
as
possible,
and
I
even
went
online
to
find
some
reputable
companies
that
do
sell
equipment
to
test
air
quality,
and
I
forwarded
some
of
those
to
you
and
to
erica
and
some
are
under
500,
and
they
include
the
cable
for
the
computer
and
the
software
to
start
charting.
Out.
D
Also
on
on
the
report,
I
said
to
you
all:
it
has
a
phd
who
is
supposed
to
be
very
reputable
and
talking
about
these
types
of
concerns
in
communities
such
as
ours,
and
she
says
that
what
she
recommends
is
that
the
air
quality
be
tested
over
a
year
and
to
test
it
at
least
twice
a
week.
D
D
One
more
thing
about
our
responsibilities
of
to
this
committee,
just
like
covet
effects,
does
not
really
affect
children
under
the
age
of
five.
According
to
the
data
not
severely,
we
do
know
that
kids
with
disabilities,
whose
immune
system
is
already
compromised,
do
fall
victim
to
coven
in
the
most
serious
of
consequences,
so
it
is
with
air
quality,
and
I
do
feel
a
responsibility,
because
we
are
on
this
committee
to
voice
my
concern
for
air
quality
for
these
children,
who
may
not
have
an
immune
system
that
can
stand
up
to
these
type
of
pollutants.
D
D
D
I
don't
want
to
say
anyone's
dragging
our
feet,
but
I
feel
an
urgency
to
move
forward
as
soon
as
we
can
and
like
I
say
I,
I
priced
some
monitors
that
are
supposed
to
be
really
really
good
and
I
wouldn't
mind
buying
myself
buying
two
monitors
with
the
software
to
have
someone
start
monitoring
as
soon
as
possible,
because
I
am
that
concerned,
I
feel
like
we
all
need
to
do
something
and
pretty
darn,
quick
and
I'll
end
with
that
and
I'm
sorry.
I
went
on
a
little
too
long.
Thank
you.
Mister.
A
I
don't
think
you
went
out
too
long.
Okay,
I
think
that
you
have
a
legitimate
concern.
You
know
the
thing
was
that
this
I
guess
caught
us
off
guard
or
a
surprise.
We
didn't
know
that
we
had
an
organization
or
a
manufacturing
sterilization
organization
next
door
to
us.
That
was,
you
know,
producing
carcinogens
and
or
toxins
and
putting
them
out
there.
I
was
surprised
that
no
one
has
said
anything:
okay,.
A
You
know,
I
know
it
goes
through
a
bureaucracy
of
what
they
need
to
go
through,
but
this
is
one
of
those
things
where
the
house
is
on
fire
and
I
don't
think
that
anyone
is
is
coming
to
to
turn
it
off.
Okay,
okay,
so
how
much?
How
much
longer
do
we
need
to
wait
before
the
city?
A
I
don't
think
that's
something
that
the
city
loreto
couldn't
afford
to
do
or
spend
you
know
a
few
thousand
dollars
to
do
we're
not
talking
hundreds
of
thousands
we're
talking
just
you
know
something
that's
within
their
capacity
or
ability,
and
so
I
don't
know
where
they
are
with
that.
I
don't
I
don't
know
if
you
can
give
us
an
input
on
on
your
sense
of
their
sense
of
urgency
that
they
may
have.
E
Okay,
I
mean
I,
I
can't
speak
for
counsel,
but
I
can't
say
I
can't
speak
to
the
efforts
in
public
health
and
I
will
say
that
previously
and
of
course,
you
know
there's
a
lot
of
in
in
public
service.
You
know
you
have
to
deal
with
the
challenges
of
funding
and
things
of
the
sort,
but
I
do
recall
we
did
at
one
point,
have
an
agreement
with
ccq
to
do
air
quality
assessments.
E
We
know
that
at
a
state
level
those
are
being
conducted,
they
do
have,
I
believe,
four
sites
in
varedo
that
have
been
monitoring
the
air
quality
in
terms
of
the
purchase
of
monitors.
I
do
appreciate
the
efforts
of
dr
ruthinger
to
do
to
you,
know,
research
and
look
into
it.
We,
as
I
mentioned
previously,
we
are
in
conversations
with
epa
to
ensure
that
whatever
equipment
is
purchased
is
to
the
guidelines,
and
you
know
it's
an
investment
that
is
well-made
and
to
the
capacity
of
what
we
need.
We
are
in
conversations.
E
Dr
chamberlain
is
with
the
department
of
state
health
services
regarding
a
research
study
not
only
in
the
air
quality
monitoring,
specifically
in
pco
admissions,
but
also
in
a
cancer
study.
So
these
are
very
preliminary.
I
know
that
and
I
myself
being
a
member
of
the
community.
You
know
we
want
to
see
action.
You
know
immediately,
but
as
in
anything
with
with
governmental
agencies,
there
are
steps
to
follow.
There
is
funding
like.
F
E
So
but
we
are
in
conversations
to
ensure
that
these
things
happen
within
to
a
year.
So,
in
terms
of
like
I
said,
any
type
of
air
quality
and
public
health
is,
is
not
you
know,
putting
all
eggs
in
one
basket
per
se.
We
are
see
again
having
conversations
at
a
federal
level
with
with
epa
at
a
state
level,
with
the
department
of
state
health
services
and
making
sure
that
whatever.
E
Is
out
there,
we
are
making
it
known
that
it
it's
needed
in
our.
So
those
are
the
two
things.
Unfortunately,
I
mean
I
can't
say
these
are
for
sure
things
they're
we're
open
to
discussion
with
the
state
and
we're
awaiting
final
approval
on
their
end,
but
I
have
seen
the
activity
and
the
meetings
that
have
been
held
with
dr
chamberlain
on
these
two
very
important
topics.
A
Thank
you.
The
other
thing
that
I
was
going
to
say
is
that
is
that.
A
I
I
never
knew
that
laredo
had
such
an
organization
working
here
or
came
operating
here,
and
so
I
I
wonder
what
other
municipalities
do
as
a
regulatory
format
to
assure
the
safety
of
their
citizens
before
the
plants
establish
themselves
here,
you
know,
when
did
when
did
this
organization
show
up?
Did
the
city
not
do
any
evaluation
about
what
is
it
that
they
were
going
to
do
and
what
kinds
of
carcinogens
or
toxins
or
gases,
or
whatever
they
were
going
to
expel
or
into
this
into
the
environment
I
mean,
does
that?
Does
the
city.
A
Is
the
city
of
laredo
monitor
that,
because
all
of
a
sudden,
it
seems
like
we
have
this
surprise,
surprise
it's
here
and
yet
I'm
like
well
heck.
Didn't
anybody
like
figure
it
out
before
and
is
it
worth
whatever
100
jobs
that
they
provide,
that
they
may
be
endangering
thousands,
okay
or
a
hundred
jobs?
Is
that
was
that
worth
it?
I
don't
know
I'm
asking
questions
that
I
think
should
have
been
asked
15
20
years
ago,
and
so.
D
In
my
estimation,
if
we
lost
one
child,
which
I
know
we've
lost
more,
we
lost
one
child
to
cancer
because
of
the
eo
that
was
released
since
2005
in
laredo.
That's
too
many
and
yeah
100
jobs.
I
mean
that's
very
important
for
those
100
people,
those
100
families,
but
it
the
the
is
costing
all
of
us.
Each
one
of
us
in
our
family
is
too
great
a
price
to
pay.
A
Exactly,
and
so
I
don't
know
whether
organizations
or
other
their
municipalities
are
the
cities
allow
such
an
operation,
but
within
further
away.
You
know
for
the
community
there's
so
many
other
organizations
that
establish
businesses,
5,
10
15
miles
away
from
the
city
away
from
the
major
population.
Why
wasn't
that
an
option?
You
know
now?
They
they
they're
established
within
a
community
within
really
within
the
thousand
feet
of
a
school
or
something
like
that
or
a
mile
away
from
the
school
and
a
major
neighborhood
okay,
which
is
there's.
D
An
epa
map
available
online:
if
anybody
does
a
web
search,
just
use
the
words
laredo
eo
pollutant
in
the
air,
and
you
will
see
the
map
and
guess
what
it's
all
over
laredo
all
over
laredo
and
the
worst
parts
are
in
north
laredo,
believe
it
or
not,
places
north
of
let's
say
del
mar
and
all
around
the
main
part
of
the
city.
Just
look
at
the
map
it's
available
online.
D
It
just
takes
a
a
few
clicks
on
google
to
be
aware
that,
yes,
your
home
is
where
it
is
in,
and
the
terrible
thing
about
it
is
it's
odorless,
it's
colorless,
so
we
don't
even
know
we're
breathing
it
in.
A
I
A
I'm
just
a
little
surprised
that
no
one's
raised
any
concerns
until
now.
It's
taking
this
long.
A
D
I
A
E
G
E
So
it
was
submitted,
but
for
sure,
once
the
letter
of
support
finalized
from
the
key
we
can
forward
it
along
to
near,
and
I
mean
I
do
apologize
as
the
liaison
we
try
to
have
all
the
information
available.
I
can
definitely
speak
on,
like
I
said,
the
efforts
in
public
health.
I
know
you
had
some
questions
about
this
facility.
E
I
know
that
in
terms
of
the
actual,
the
chemical
that's
released
and
emissions
and
the
concern
now,
we
have
to
also
understand
that
there's
a
lot
of
other
things
that
contribute
to
the
air
quality
in
our
community.
I
think
that
there's
also
have
been
some
conversations
of
you
know
the
heavy
transportation
18-wheeler
type
of.
E
Centralization
in
that
area,
that
also
has
the
commissions
and
something
as
basic,
as
you
know,
a
cookout
when
you
have
a
cookout,
there's
emissions
there
as
well.
So-
and
those
are
just
you
know-
from
what
I've
heard
in
the
discussions
that
I've
been
a
part
of
regarding
this
issue
in
terms
of
the
facility
and
the
approvals,
I
don't
have
the
direct
information.
E
However,
I
I
can
go
ahead
and
reach
out
to
them
to
to
to
the
city,
and
let
them
know
you
have
these
questions
and
maybe
bring
in
economic
development
or
somebody
to
provide
those
answers
for
you.
C
D
Thank
you
erica,
just
to
reiterate
all
of
the
research
that
I've
cited
in
the
videos
I
have
sent.
They
are
specifically
about
the
eo
okay,
the
carcinogen
produced
by
that
particular
sterilization
plant,
not
all
the
other
carbon.
You
know
emissions,
but
specifically
that
particular
plant
and
that
particular
eo
that
is
being
released
that
is
causing
all
of
these
concerns
about
public
health
and
specifically
cancer,
and
specifically
the
children
who
are
going
to
school
