From YouTube: City Manager Search Ad-Hoc Committee Meeting, 06/07/2019
Description
The City Manager Search Ad-Hoc Committee Meeting of June 7, 2019 was held at the City of Laredo City Hall Council Chambers on 1110 Houston St. at 12:00 p.m.
B
A
You
very
much
for
the
record
mr.
Boies
had
indicated
and
last
being
that
he
would
have
a
copy
with
today's
meeting
as
well
and
miss
potatoes.
Detroit
is
so
well.
Thank
you
very
much.
The
the
minute
should
have
been
worth
said
to
you.
Well
you
to
the
committee
members.
They
won't
have
a
chance
to
review
them.
Are
there
any
changes,
Corrections
or
deletions
from
the
minutes.
A
A
In
the
minutes
we
tend
to
relate
to
parties
as
he
or
she's,
so
I
I
was
just
just
recommendation
will
relate
to
they.
You
look
at
there's
a
there's
reference
made
to
a
candidate
of
affirms.
The
firm's
is
actually
the
firm
that
we
were
reviewing
in
the
process,
not
not
confuse
it
with
a
candidate
of
the
search
committee
for
the
city
manager,
so
you
made
reference
to
the
three
parties
in
the
minutes
as
they're.
Sometimes
we
were
voted
it
as
he
or
the
candidate
in
for
future.
A
A
A
A
A
Basically,
the
memo
indicated
that
we
went
to
the
front
that
we
process
that
we
reviewed
last
week,
where
we
pretty
much
have
a
scorecard
of
the
three
firms
that
we
were
reviewing
as
a
search
firms
as
a
result
of
staff
reviewing
and
contacting
each
and
one
of
them
the
one
of
the
firm's
indicated
they
wanted
to
change
the
terms
of
their
RFP
and
I
saw
that
made
reference
to
changes
that
they
had
they
invade.
They
won't
decrease
the
price
they
wanted
to
work
directly.
A
They
had
said
on
some
other
terms
that
did
not
fall
within
the
RFP
the
interest
of
time
and
because
we
had,
and
also
because
the
candidates,
the
firms
that
were
wanted
to,
or
very
close.
Thank
you
all
for
really
for
your
hard
working
in
evaluating
that
I
did
not
feel
that
it
was
appropriate
that
we
go
through
a
process
of
having
to
read,
reread
renegotiate
or
read,
or
staff,
to
renegotiate
and
open
up
the
RFP.
The
RFP
was
very
specific.
A
The
purpose
at
the
pre
purpose
of
submitting
quite
to
those
instructions
and
I
didn't
think
it
would
be
fair
for
the
other
firms
to
have
to
reopen
the
whole
scenario.
So
I
hope
that
that,
if
everyone
would
agree
that,
we
then
moved
on
to
perhaps
inviting
the
second
firm
versus
that
that
we
were
not
willing
to
go
with
terms
and
conditions
new
terms
and
conditions.
Once
since
we
had
already
open
up
the
RFP
270
I.
D
Just
think,
in
all
fairness
and
to
be
transparent,
I
wouldn't
like
to
seem
that
correspondent
to
that,
if
there's
nothing,
the
thing
was
given
in
writing
by
this
company.
It
was
all
poured
back
and
forth
and
as
a
committee
member
that
I
represent,
you
know
what
I
like
to
see
read
something
that
actually
has
that
I
know.
I
talked
to
you
about
it
and
you
confirmed
it
speaking
to
this
one
assistant
city
manager.
D
A
D
A
E
F
Can't
guarantee
that
I
said
I
can
honestly
pay
for
all
the
expensive,
your
travel
expenses
etc,
and
then
he
says
no,
so
he
changed
his
mind
and
he
said
well
because
Laredo
is
so
vulnerable.
This
is
my
new
asking
price.
Instead
of
40
some
one
at
60
and
I,
don't
guarantee
the
one-year
and
I'm
telling
you
for
the
record
now
I'm.
F
G
G
In
fact,
we
have
to
pull
out
the
changes.
Last
Friday
I
received
an
email
at
6:00
in
the
morning.
I
was
actually
a
doctor's
visit.
He
was
calling
and
texting
me
with
the
changes
that
we
after
we
had
agreed
on
terms.
He
changed
reference
price.
He
also
had
simulations
the
one-year
guarantee
was
out.
He
also
wanted
to
meet
individually
with
each
member
as
well
with
each
council
member.
So
there
was
a
lot
of
different
things
that
we
had
not,
of
course,
I
advised
the
committee,
and
you
know
pretty
quick.
F
As
far
as
meeting
with
each
one
of
council
members
individually,
you
are
because
we
are
transparent
and
I
did.
Let
him
know
that
that
we
were
transparent
and
then
whatever
needed
to
be
said,
would
be
said
in
public,
and
so
then
I
felt
maybe
I
had
over
spoken
because
it
was
in
a
conveyance
decision.
So
that's
when
I
reached
out
to
mr.
trouble
and
he.
E
F
G
Right,
that's.
That's
basically
is
term
that
he
used
that
you
thought
this
was
high
risk
and
because
of
that
he
wanted
some
changes
and
assurances
and
such
and
so
that's
why
the
proposal
itself
changed.
So
we
negotiated
in
good
faith.
We
had
everything
ready
to
go,
you
know
to
council,
then
things
changed.
They.
G
C
E
I
D
So
we
have
an
and
also
on
the
scoring
sheet
just
so
you
can
make
a
correction
because
I
know
the
when
you
have
a
tie.
We
had
talked
about
that
it
was
not
going
to
give
a
full
point.
Is
I
have
a
point
so
use
your
score
to
have
a
point
off
number
one
number
two
number
two:
they
had
to
same
sports,
they're
gonna,
get
half
of
that.
One.
H
Tell
staff
thank
you
and
our
Chairman
mr.
shovel,
for
you
know
keeping
the
best
interest
of
our
city
in
mind
and
protecting
our
budget,
and
you
know
we're
not
a
bottomless
pit
with
these
types
of
vendors.
It
came
across
as
rather
unscrupulous
and
you
know
left
I
think
a
sour
taste
for
sure
in
my
mouth
and
so
thank
you.
Mister
trouble
for
we're
really
taking
the
bull
by
the
horn
on
that
and
Thank
You
staff.
Definitely
yeah.
A
But
it
is
staff
because
we
are
we,
we
have
open
dialogue,
they.
You
know
it
was
an
issue
immediately
staff
with
contacts
me
beside
your
you
know,
or
others
staff
members
we
deep
it
meet
in
the
conference.
Call
we
had
this
discussion,
it's
not
an
independent
thinking
here
it
we
put
our
minds
together
and
we
felt
in
the
interest
of
time
we
need
to
perform
forward
with
with
this,
so
that
we
could
make
sure
we
come
to
the
meeting
prepared
for
what
we
attempt
to
do
today,
which
is
to
meet
with
the
we.
A
F
A
Not
listening,
okay,
good
I
didn't
want
to
cover
a
couple
of
things
before
we
actually
turn
the
mic
on
and
for
that
discussion.
Just
to
advise
the
committee
I
ask
for
some
additional
information
in
anticipation
of
perhaps
some
questions
that
may
come
up
in
regards
to
a
package
or
compensation.
I
did
not
want
to
speak
out
of
knowledge,
so
it
a
participation
of
that
potential
question
in
the
Congress
issue
from
the
firm
may
come
up.
Well,
what
is
it
that
y'all
want
to
offer?
A
What
is
it
if
you
are
looking
at
I'd
asked
after
they
could
do
some
research
and
provide
us
with
past
information
on
the
last
three
city
code
managers
so
that
we
I
wasn't
privy
to
to
that's
those
packages
was
not
fresh
in
my
mind,
in
addition
to
provide
us
with
some
comparisons
of
other
cities,
so
that
we
can
look
in
case
for
our
own
education.
The
negotiations
are.
A
The
final
package
will
be
approved
by
the
City
Council
they're,
the
ones
that
will
decide,
but
at
the
same
time
we
want
I
want
to
go,
see,
have
a
better
understanding,
a
feel
for
what's
out
there
and
that
we're
not
way
off
of
left
field
in
in
in
the
review
in
a
review
process.
So
that's
why
you
have
in
your
packets
that
information
that
boosts
what
I
just
said.
J
When
it
comes
to
negotiations
and
packages
and
salaries,
that
is
entirely
up
to
the
council-
and
it's
even
in
fact
something
that
they
tried
to
discuss
recently
I'm
one
of
the
council
meetings,
I'm
setting
a
set
salary
or
setting
certain
benefits
that
would
be
attributed
to
no
matter
who
they
chose,
but
they
did
decide.
They
didn't
want
it
to
keep
all
their
options
open.
So
that
is
something
they'd
rather
wait
until
they
have
the
proposed
candidate
and
they
can
see
what
they
have
to
offer.
J
A
Thank
you,
that's
you
know
I.
This
should
not
be
a
painful,
it's
exercise,
it's
just.
It
should
be
painless
if
we're
well
informed
that
we,
we
are
open
and
frank
in
the
discussion,
I
really
and
I.
Think
what
this
Gables
general
is
saying
very
important
that
as
committee
members,
we
stay
focused
on
on
our
objective,
it's
finding
the
best
candidate
for
our
city,
and
we
need
to
work
as
a
committee
and
not
work.
A
You
know
and
make
sure
that
what
you
know
we
will
be
challenged
by
folks
in
the
citizens
in
our
private
lives,
because
we
are
private
citizens.
We
are
here
as
volunteers
and
we
will
receive
information
will
receive.
Recommendations
will
be
asked
for
our
opinions
and
we're
open
to
that.
But
at
the
discussion,
phase
of
these
meetings
is
when
these
that's
what
we
have
public
comment
process.
We
hope
that
we
be
maintained
and
I'm
having
any
issues
in
the
problem
that
we
maintain
the
information
that
we're
reviewing
here
and
preserve
any
any
choice.
A
D
The
committee
does
not
go
out
and
try
to
recruit
or
asks
as
people
to
apply
for
the
position,
but
you're
gonna
get
calls
asking.
You
tone
sewing
just
thank
you
for
inviting
hang
up
but
physically
go
out
there
and
actually
try
to
recruit
somebody
or
convince
somebody
to
try
to
apply
I.
Think,
and
you
know
what
that's
that
that's
not
be
transparent
as
one
member
and
we
need
to
stay
away
from
that.
There.
I
J
I
F
Because
our
first
recruiter
asked
us
for
that
because
well,
how
can
I
go
out
and
get
you
up
with
candidates
if
we
don't
have
a
good
I
guess
salary
in
place
or
better
package
in
place?
So
if
he
was
asking
that
and
so
that's
what
triggered?
Maybe
it's
something
that
means
start
talking
to
count
somehow
the.
D
A
The
information
is
was
not
intended
to
be
discussed
with
them
for
us
in
case
the
question
does
come
up,
we'd
like
to
pose
it
to
them.
What
is
it
that
you
are
seeing?
What
is
it
that,
in
today's
world,
a
city
manager
searches?
What
are
the
kind
of
things
that
you're
facing
we
understand
clearly
if
we're
on
base
or
maybe
you're
way
off
base,
so
this
information
I
would
rather
than
we
keep
it
to
ourselves.
As
for
our,
you
know,
knowledge
and
understanding
as
we
go
through
this
process
I,
you
know,
I
find
it
interesting.
A
L
I'd
like
to
you
know,
one
of
the
things
that
I
hope
can
be
looked
at
is
a
combination
of
a
salary
and
a
pay-for-performance
asking
that
firm.
What
is
your
experience
with
that
kind
of
a
plan
it
works
out
in
the
corporate
world?
You
know
and
I
think
that,
so
that
individuals
feel
a
little
more
motivated
to
really
really
perform
and
to
do
things
right
and
not
just
hold
the
position.
L
A
pay-for-performance,
you
know
being
incorporated
into
any
package
that
we
put
together
I
think
might
be
wise
for
a
city
like
ours,
because
we
have
so
much
potential
yet
as
a
city
financially
we're
struggling.
So
we
can't
continue
with
what
has
been
done
in
the
past
and
what
I
have
heard
is
people
say
well,
Ivan,
you
don't
understand,
we
have
to
throw
the
salaries
way
up
there
so
that
we
can
attract
a
larger
pool
of
candidates.
L
Well,
my
question
is
then:
if
that's
the
case,
then
why
have
the
last
three
individuals
been
from
Loreto
or
one
from
Eagle
Pass?
Obviously,
that's
not
working,
that's
not
working.
Do
we
need
to
increase
it
more?
No,
there
are
people
out
there.
I
believe
good
candidates
that
would
be
willing
to
jump
into
a
situation
where
they
can
maximize
their
earnings
or
their
compensation
based
on
performance.
We
need
that
kind
of
an
individual.
That
I
think
has
that
confidence
in
themselves
and
is
willing
to
consider
something.
I
A
B
A
Yes,
we
can
very
much
good
afternoon
mr.
IRA,
thank
you
very
much
for
for
joining
us
today
on
a
relatively
short
notice
and
I
understand
that
that
situation
durian
and
we
we
thank
you
for
taking
the
time
to
be
into
this
I,
think
it's
indicative
of
your
interest.
You
know,
and
of
course
it
year
you
wanted
us
to
to
be
considered
for
this.
For
this,
for
this
role
it
selects
University
manager.
A
My
name
is
Jerry
Schwab
I
have
the
chairman
of
of
the
ad
hoc
committee,
the
search
committee
for
the
next
city
manager
and
all
the
members
of
the
of
the
ad
hoc
committee
are
here
president
sepp
one.
Is
that
able
to
join
us
today
and
the
the
purpose
of
today's
meeting
is
to
get
a
chance
to
to
meet
you
to
know.
A
You
I
changed
some
of
our
of
our
views
and
also
hear
from
you
may
send
your
experience
so
how
we
move
forward
because
we're
recommendation
this
is
to
go
forward
with
your
firm
and
but
it's
an
also
an
opportunity
for
us
to
issue.
You
know
I
have
a
face
to
face
to
the
technology
and
get
a
chance
to
meet
each
other.
I
hope
that
every
one
of
our
members
will
have
an
up.
You
know
trusted
they'll
have
an
opportunity
to
share
with
you.
Some
thoughts
would
like
also
hear
from
you.
Based
on
your
experiences.
A
M
Any
to
have
ever
been
the
same
and
what
I've
been
privileged
to
to
work
for
the
same
city
or
second
times
where
I
learned
the
first
doesn't
necessarily
apply
to
what
was
then
current
while
I
was
go
back,
the
I
will
tell
you
that
this
field
is
very
competitive.
Now
when
I
started
work
and
it's
doing
this
work,
it
was
the
very
unlikely
for
our
city
was
a
little
right
over
to
attract
less
than
100.
Resumes
now
would
probably
be
more
like
1450.
M
It's
not
necessarily
that
way
because
we're
getting
quality
but
we're
not
getting
the
quantity
that
we
used
to
get
see.
We
just
send
these
Corpus
Christi,
as
you
may
know,
that
attracted
some
very
high
quality
folks,
some
interesting
people
from
all
over
the
United
States
and
as
a
matter
of
fact
there
for
one
of
it,
whether
the
two
applicants,
but
one
finalist
in
Canada,
the
and
we
they
were
incidents
over
thing,
I
love
people
with
experience
in
Texas,
and
we
were
able
to
provide
that
to
them.
I,
don't
know
what
we're
going
to
give.
Mr.
M
chairman,
a
good
sized
council-manager
City
got
a
lot
of
attributes
that
no
other
city
has
and
some
that
a
lot
of
managers
look
for
words
of
quality
place
to
practice
your
growth
either
they
look
for
and
relish.
You
know
they
they
shy
away
from
really
thinking
of
proximity
to
Mexico
in
the
border
and
the
drug
and
the
bridges
you
got
in
this
trade
that
use
that
you
enjoy
with
foreign
countries,
I
think
that
will
attract
a
lot
of
folks
of
I'm
rambling,
but
every
we're
doing
several
manager,
searches
now
and
every
one
is
different.
M
Well,
the
best
you
said
one
more
point
to
it:
one
very
small
place
that
we're
working
with
this
training
enough
is
in
South
Carolina,
where
I
was
concerned,
that
we
wouldn't
get
to
be
able
to
attract
with
candidates.
We've
got
more
of
Kennedy's
to
that
job
than
anything
said
be
large
or
small
anyplace
in
the
country,
and
that
was
because
its
location
well.
A
D
M
M
They
told
us
no
minimum
requirements
would
be,
and
then
they
told
us
of
what
their
preferences
would
be,
and
we
just
be
obviously
had
to
be
conservative
about
the
minimum
requirement
because
we
use
them
discreet,
but
we
really
were
more
interested
in
the
and
the
ideal
candidate
characteristics
and
we
wouldn't
found
them,
and
we
do
that
by
rifle
and
shotgun
now
the
rifle
is
involves
a
variety
of
things.
Knowing
we've
been
to
business
a
long
time,
we
know
a
lot
of
people.
M
One
of
the
people
on
the
team
for
a
Lorado
is
a
former
ICMA
president
he's
still
very
active,
but
I
see
many
knows.
People
from
all
of
the
country
he's
very
good
at
identifying
people
that
might
not
otherwise
have
I
was
respond
to
an
ad.
We
did
that
we
use
social
networking
to
do
that.
We
used
professional
associations
and
professional
websites
and
we
amortize
the
advertisements
are
pretty
much
a
standard
in
the
industry
and
we've
used
them
for
years.
M
The
International
City
County
Management
Association
and
was
the
technically
you
put
an
ad
out
today
and
whereas
we
used
to
have
to
wait,
though,
for
a
publication
to
come
up
and-
and
it's
out
there
today
we're
getting
responses
tomorrow,
but
I'm
not
sure
I'm
answering
your
question,
but
you
know
we
take.
We
can
point
there
that
folks
in
Corpus
told
us
they
were
looking
for.
We
applied
into
to
our
process.
G
M
That
became
basically
our
road
map
that
guided
us
through
the
search
and
including
to
Louise's
to
the
screen
so
to
go
after
candidate
and
pre-candidate
and
as
we
develop
them,
we
also
decide
that
so
they'll
go
and
look
at
the
locations
where
the
people
are
now
working
and
fit
some
time
within.
There
serve
all
kinds
of
things,
and
it's
not
just
an
interview
we're
looking
at
and
how
they
relate
to
the
people.
Were
they
really
doing
a
day-to-day
operations
should
add?
M
M
A
H
H
Very
nice
to
meet
you
I,
look
forward
to
the
process
and
I.
Don't
think
I
have
anything
to
add
at
this
moment
in
time.
I
think
we,
as
a
committee,
already
have
discussed
all
of
the
issues
that
we're
concerned
about
and
all
of
the
types
of
candidates
we
want
to
attract
and
kind
of
requirements
that
we
would
like
to
put
forth
and
the
quality
of
candidates
we
would
like
to
receive
so
at
this
time.
I
don't
have
anything
in
particular
to
add
it.
I
will.
A
A
You
know
members
of
the
community
that
almost
all
nonprofit
organizations
that
really
seeks
the
welfare
of
each
citizen
of
this
community
and
she
has
added
so
much
to
our
community
because
of
her
work,
and
you
know
the
quality
of
life
issues
so
I
expect
to
see
her
continue
to
to
voice
her
have
some
of
those
deeds
in
identifying
candidate
that
may
be
sensitive
to
that
side.
So
we
tend
to
be
as
business
members
I
know.
We
tend
to
focus
a
lot
of
the
business
business
business,
but
there's
a
social
aspect
of
our
community.
H
You
know
our
rivers
are
our
number
one
asset,
and
you
know
our
city
is
growing
very
quickly
and
we
need
to
into
towards
sustainable
development
and-
and-
and
you
know,
my
own
opinion
here
is
just
greater
protection
of
our
of
our
natural
resources
and
assets
and
everything
that
mr.
Schwab
will
mentioned.
You
know,
quality
of
life
is
really
important
and
something
we
need
to
take
into
account
as
our
as
our
city
continues
to
grow.
A
Yes,
all
of
these,
what
we
that
we
went
through
that
exercise,
besides
the
the
basic
job
description
that
you
all
you
know
the
regards
for
the
city
manager,
there
was
a
there
was
some
preferred,
I
guess
qualification
that
we
were
looking
for
and
then
also
some
personal.
You
know
personal
comments
of
what
we
would
like
to
see
that
issued
to
the
candidate
the
qualities
of
the
candidates
itself,
so
all
of
that
is
totally
opened
will
be
shared
with
you
as
well.
C
C
L
L
That's
firm
and
assertive
yet
can
be
humble
when
they
need
to
be,
and
above
all,
someone
who
has
got
a
great
deal
of
integrity.
Looking
for
a
good
listener,
a
good
communicator
and
I,
you
know
don't
want
to
lose
any
candidates
solely
because
they
may
not
be
bilingual.
I
agree
that
that
that
is
important.
L
It
can
be
important,
but
you
know,
like
I
mentioned
they'll,
be
conducting
some
of
their
business
in
Austin
and
DC,
so
you
know
if
they're
not
bilingual
and
and
they
they're
very,
very
good
in
in
all
the
other
attributes
of
a
good
city
manager.
You
know
that
would
be
perfectly
fine
with
me
and
we're
looking
for
a
good-sized
pool
of
candidates.
L
I'm
with
with
dr.
Garza
said
some
folks
are
going
to
look
at
it
and
say:
gee
whiz,
you
know
the
last
two
or
three
city
managers
were
from
that
area,
they're
in
the
habit
of
picking
local
people.
That's
not
the
case
we
are.
We
are
looking
for
the
best
candidate,
whether
they
come
out
of
Portland,
Oregon
or
Bangor
Maine
or
wherever
you
know
we're.
Looking
for
four
four
good
candidates.
Thank
you.
A
I
M
I
Have
a
very
we
have
a
very,
very
vibrant
business
community
and
we
do
always
keep
in
mind
economic
development
but
I'm.
Looking
for
a
candidate
that
can
balance,
you
know
that
not
only
with
our
natural
resources,
but
you
know
all
the
different
social
economic
levels
of
our
citizens
and
I.
Don't
think
that
I
think
maybe
one
thing
to
point
out
that
this
is
probably
that
we
can
recall
Mr,
Lopez
and
I
that
you're
about
to
me.
There
has
never
been
a
committee
set
up
by
our
council
to
go
out
for
a
national
search
like
this.
M
City
I
worked
with
council,
elected
committees
and
boards
I
think
the
many
three
three
times
in
the
past,
and
it
worked
quite
well
the
times
it's
done.
It
is
love
in
Wichita,
Kansas
or
who's
done.
Several
city
manager
searches
over
the
last
umpteen
years,
I
told
you
how
many
you
know
how
long
a
week
I'm
not
happy
with
it,
but
thirty
years
for
the
annals
and
the
county,
Sedgwick
County,
and
that
committee
has.
M
E
The
locus
Thank
You
mr.
chairman
I'm,
miss
and
I'm
in
the
health
care
industry
in
our
community,
and
we
just
this
week
started
a
national
search
for
two
psychiatrists.
We
only
have
one
in
town
of
servicing
psychiatrists
in
the
North
psychiatrist,
a
national
search
for
psychiatrists.
We
have
we
need
to
here
in
our
clinic,
so
we
did
hire
a
national
search
firm
like
yourself
and
some
of
our
requirements
were
that
they
bilingual
that's,
recommend
it
highly
and
that
they
be
culturally
sensitive
to
our
patient
population.
E
The
other
thing
that
they
decided
to
do
is
focus
on
the
following
states:
I
was
New
Mexico,
California
Florida
and
a
territory
the
United
States
Puerto
Rico,
because
they
felt
that
that
might
give
us
a
good
pool
of
candidates
that
could
be
bilingual
and
could
be
more
culturally
sensitive
to
being
here
in
with
our
population
here
in
Laredo
Texas.
So
just
a
suggestion
and
I
welcome
you
to
this
wonderful
community
and
I
think
you're
you're
qualified
to
do
the
best
job
and
give
us
the
best
candidate.
So
thank
you
very
much.
M
K
You
wait
yes
enough.
I'm,
Jeff,
Wiig
and
I
come
with
engineering
in
the
development
community,
basically
I'm
looking
for
something
or
someone
that
would
be
interested
in
some
more
of
the
long
lines
being
very
forward-thinking,
but
again
without
the
loss
for
history,
culture
and
our
past.
So
we
want
to
grow
with
as
a
community,
but
we
want
to
not
forget
where
we
came
from
I.
Think
it's
important
to
look
into
traffic
I
mean
transportation
and
infrastructure,
both
the
relates
to
trade,
but
as
well
as
growth
for
our
community.
K
We
need
to
find
someone
that's
willing
to
work
with
Laredo
and
make
it
grow
to
the
better
place
that
it
should
be.
The
only
question
that
I
had
with
respect
to
the
proposal
presentation
was
was
after
y'all
completed
your
preliminary
screening
and
you're
supposed
to
provide
a
progress
report
to
the
council.
What
type
of
detail
might
we
expect
to
see
in
these
kind
of
progress
reports.
M
To
do
that,
we
do
the
concrete
that
we
we
do
telephone
interviews,
but
in
addition
to
that,
will
craft
a
supplemental
questionnaire
which,
in
a
rather
detailed
questionnaire,
that
we
ask
these
folks
and
it
ties
us
to
something:
that's
not
something.
We
pull
off
the
shelf
of
Patras
dinner
criteria
and
you
folks
set
up.
M
M
We
screen
again
and
what
you'll
get
in
that
program
meeting
is
a
booklet
and
it
will
have
in
it
this
profile,
which
is
intended
to
remind
you
what
show
you're
looking
for
but
and
they'll
have
information
about
the
candidates
that
we
believe
to
meet.
The
criteria
set
they'll,
probably
be
10
12,
maybe
as
many
as
15
and
for
each
of
them.
You'll
have
some
regret.
Amazed
at
our
company
prepares,
but
you'll
have
the
cover
letter
that
Canada
came
to
us.
You'll.
Have
these
resumes
that
they
provide
to
us?
G
M
Wonders
tennis
is
attended
and
then
we'll
combine
the
torso
of
an
average
them
anyway.
What
that
will
hopefully
do
is
come
up
with
a
consensus.
There
are
also
consensus
from
you,
folks
to
which
ones
you're
most
interested
in,
and
then
we
will
take
that
list
and
from
from
there,
I
begin
to
do
the
real
serious
due
diligence
on
these
people.
But
the
thought
in
mind
that
if
you
want
to
interview
five
and
I
understand
that
you're
going
to
be
referring
Cantonese
to
the
council.
M
We
will
concentrate
that
process
for
you,
but
isn't
it
to
your
question
there?
That
report
is
pretty
comprehensive
in
terms
of
telling
you
what
we
know
what
we
found
out
about
them.
You'll
have
this
document
that
they
have
prepared,
which
you
will
show
you
not
only
what
they've
done
as
it
relates
to
it,
because
you're
like
yeah,
these
people
are
capable
of
doing
but
how
they
write,
how
they
present
themselves,
and
you
will
then
have
a
little
bit
of
background
work
in
terms
of
Google.
A
I'm,
thank
you
very
well.
We
have
one
mother,
member
of
our
committee,
who
is
not
with
us
today.
It
has
to
be
excused
if
you
will
have
an
opportunity
to
meet
his
neighbor
stuff.
I
have
Dwayne,
yes,
he's
a
member
of
the
custom
brokerage
community,
which
is
part
of
the
international
trade
services
community.
Here,
beware:
go
and
you'll
have
a
chance
to
meet
him
as
well.
My
name
is
jerry
Shaw,
but
I'm
fortunate
to
be
selected
as
a
chair
of
this
distinguished
group
of
us
over
800
words
and
I'm.
A
Very,
not
only
remember
my
honor,
please,
the
you
could
have
picked
the
City
Council
for
the
big,
more
more
worthy
individuals,
because
we're
all
passionate
about
our
community.
We
believe
that
we,
we
have
an
important
role
to
play
and
hopefully,
with
your
help,
we
will
achieve
meet
that
objective
of
finding
the
best
candidate
for
the
next.
You
don't
think
raise
the
bar
of
our
community
tickets
to
the
next
level.
A
So,
therefore,
we
have
we're,
looking
forward
will
be
have
been
working
together
with
you
and
and
with
the
process
will
take
its
course
and
and
with
staff
will
be
dealing
with
you
as
well
as
with
us
in
the
in
the
weeks
to
come.
We
do
have
a
sense
of
urgency,
but
at
the
same
time,
we're
also
seeking
the
best
and
brightest
candidate
for
our
community.
M
A
A
M
A
M
Will
be
contacting
me
in
the
near
future
of
movement
to
be
there,
I
hear
you
and
it's.
The
format
is
pretty
spin,
very
productive,
but
it's
it's
assuring
to
hear
you
so
I
I.
Don't
really
have
any
questions.
One
thing
that
I
that
has
been
a
problem
with
Texas
clients
in
the
past
amount
of
them.
Sorry
a
problem
because
it's
like
and
that's
a
public
interest
in
this
process.
M
It's
obviously
when
we're
trying
to
recruit
people
who
are
employed
and
the
table
positions.
We
need
to
be
concerned
about
they're,
not
they're,
getting
them
fired
so
and
I'm
not
suggesting
that
we
that
we
hide
anything
but
I
am
suggesting
that
that
wasn't
with
any
that
we
try
to
do
things
so
that
people
can
remain
and
they
can
explore
possibilities
before
they
and
the
assurances
you
folks
are
interested
in
them
before
they
have
their
names
made
public.
So
I
will
you
talk
about
that?
I
mean
yes!
M
H
H
So
we're
on
the
same
page
with
staff
and
with
you
mr.
Slavin.
How
soon
will
it
be
that
you,
you
know
you're
off
to
the
races?
What
has
to
happen.
M
And
I'll
leave
some
additional
things
to
put
the
profile
together,
artwork
photographs
and
things
like
that,
which
I
can
work
with
your
staff,
but
once
I
have
that
we
go
once
I
have
what's
necessary
to
put
an
announcement
together,
not
necessarily
profile
profiles
are
involved,
but
the
announcement
starts
the
process
and
what
I
need
is
basically
the
result
requirement.
Some
of
this
preferable
minimum
has
preferred
some
of
the
when
there's
a
job
description.
That's
a
city
document
that
I
would
need
once
I
put
that
together.
A
F
G
A
A
I
A
I
That
getting
to
work
mr.
Chairman
I
would
like
to
ask
if,
when
they
tour
the
city,
if
we
could
have
the
option
to
join
them,
I've
done
that
on
other
committees.
That
I
sit
on
and
I
think
it's
very
helpful
to
get
to
know
and
for
them
to
get
to
know
our
expectations,
and
we
can
all
have
a
different
perspective
of
our
city
and
they
can
have
a
well-rounded
understanding
of
I.
You.
A
Know
I.
Definitely
that
think
we,
this
is
like
everything
else.
You
know
you
do
it.
Mr.
Cooper's,
you
know
I'm
trying
to
attract
facetious
taqueria,
all
of
us
it.
You
know
we
don't
you
know
it's
it's
just
hard
to
hear.
You
know
people's.
You
know
already
think
that
this
is
not
the
right
place
to
come
to
and
I'm,
not
up.
I
can't
stick
my
head
in
the
sand
and
deny
the
bits
of
challenges,
but
every
city
has
its
own
set
of
challenges.
I,
don't
see
what
anybody
wouldn't
want
to
become.
A
You
know
police,
commissioner
of
Chicago.
Right
now
you
know,
but
there's
applicants
for
police
commissioner's
for
Chicago
right
now
and
I.
Don't
think
we
should
we
should.
We
should
be
discouraged
by
that.
I
think
we
should
be
more
motivated
and
it
work
harder
making
sure
that
the
image
of
our
community
has
always
been
the
best,
and
we
have
a
lot
of
great
things.

F
Can
proceed
because
it's
within
the
city
managers
threshold?
We
will
be
setting
up
we're
working
with
CBB
to
be
able
to
bring
them
on
tour,
to
bring
consultant
on
tour
and
so
we'll
be
pulling
any
of
you
who
would
be
interested
in
also
attending
it's
important
will
have
to
post.
But
it's
under
the
limit.
