Description
07-02-20 Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Committee
B
B
B
Okay,
so
just
to
update
you
on
the
budget,
we
have,
we
took
precautionary
measures,
we
didn't
know
how
much
we
were
going
to
be
impacted
back
in
when
we
started
in
March,
and
so
just
looking
at
what
other
destinations
were
going
through.
Looking
at
what
the
state
was
projecting,
we
made
the
decision
of
cutting
a
lot
of
our
current
budget
just
to
have
some
savings
that
could
help
us
in
case.
We
need
to
cut
our
budget
for
the
following
fiscal
year,
so
we
reviewed
a
lot
of
our
budget.
B
We
reviewed
all
of
the
pending
items
and
we
had.
Obviously
we
give
priority
to
things
like
advertising
that
we
know
are
gonna
help
us
bring
bring
visitors
back
and
anything
that
was
cherry.
On
top
of
the
sundae.
We
try
to
cut
and
save
those
money,
and
so
we
put
all
those
monies
in
a
restricted
reserve
line
so
that
we
can
make
use
of
them
in
case
we
need
additional
funding
to
cover
us
for,
for
the
next
fiscal
year
is
one
and
to
let
you
know.
So.
B
We
are
trying
to
be
very,
very
financially
and
fiscally
responsible
just
to
make
sure
that,
because
we
don't
know,
there's
a
lot
of
uncertainty,
so
we
want
to
make
sure
we
have
or
everything
that
the
new
fiscal
year
I
don't
know.
There's
any
questions
or
if
you
like
to
approve
the
move
with
a
report,
can.
B
So
we
cut
things
additional
things
that
we
had.
The
good
thing
is
most
of
the
furnishings
for
the
building
were
done.
We
are
working
very
hard
to
finally
send
and
get
everything
for
this
building
so
that
it's
exactly
how
we
wanted,
although
there
are
some
things
that
we
can
wait,
and
so
we
decided
to
cut
from
there.
There
were
some
little
projects
here
and
there.
B
Obviously,
the
the
fact
that
we
had
to
postpone
sister
cities
helped
us
a
little
bit
and
in
those
monies,
and
so
we
have
we've
had
different
different
things
that
at
projects
that
we
decided
could
be
postponed,
at
least
until
we
know,
and
the
whole
situation
also
provided.
Some
of
the
naturally
provided
some
of
the
cuts
and
so
or
the
are
the
savings.
So
we
have,
we
didn't
have
our
press
conference
in
Montgomery
this
year.
We
didn't
have
a
family
that
we
we
were
planning
for
the
summer,
didn't
have
for
the
looks
of
it.
B
We
we
don't
know
we're.
Gonna
have
one
in
the
fall,
but
those
are
still
monies
from
next
year,
but
there
were
some
things
that
we
did
not
do
because
of
the
situation.
That
I
did
a
savings
for
us,
naturally,
and
additional
to
that
we
went
in
and
we
reviewed
every
single
line
just
to
make
sure
we
are
putting
some
money
away
just
in
case,
but
none
of
our
operation
basic
operations
have
been
affected.
Our
advertising
is,
is
you'll
key
for
us
of
different
activities.
We're
still
working
on
our
branding.
B
A
B
B
C
We
we
saw
an
increase
last
month
in
some
of
the
segments,
but
even
more
on
the
economy,
so
I
believe
a
lot
of
drivers,
drivers,
transportation,
but
we
haven't
seen
a
lot
incorporate
water
with,
of
course,
non-disabled
from
Mexico.
So
so
it's
still
in
this
in
the
same
situation,
I
think
of
going
a
few
big
backwards
and
we
saw
a
decline.
C
D
C
B
C
A
B
Yeah,
if
we
get
to
a
point
week,
we
were
going
down
and
people
were
and
there
was
a
double-edged
sword,
but
people
were
relaxing
that
we're
starting
to
go
out
that
we've
started
to
see
increases
in
income
destinations.
But
it's
a
double-edged
sword,
so
people
relax
are
going
out
and
the
cases
start
going
up.
So
we
certainly
as
a
community
I
sustained
as
a
country.
We
need
to
figure
out.
What's
the
that
balance
between
going
out
and
not
getting
a
not
spreading
the
virus.
A
B
My
my
report-
that's
on
page
nine
I,
send
you
this
report
so
before
we
knew
we
were
able
to
come
back
to
the
pieces.
I
wanted
to
keep
y'all
updated
on
what
we
were
doing
at
CVP
at
the
beginning
and
I'm
gonna.
Do
a
very
quick
recap
of
everything
that
we've
been
doing
in
the
last
four
months
very
very
early.
In
the
situation
during
March
we
went
to
Washington.
We
had
a
very
successful
triple
Revere's.
We
had
against
any
other.
B
We
had
that.
Maybe
people
were
not
gonna
go
to
the
reception.
People
went
to
the
reception.
We
had
a
really
good
attendance.
Normal
attendance
to
the
Loretto
dates
were
very
successful.
We
had
a
great
opportunity
to
meet
with
Congress
first
and
with
agencies,
and
so
I
came
back
in
this
situation
involved
and
some
of
us
were
pulled
to
assist
Pio
to
get
myself
and
the
part
of
the
marketing
team
Felina.
B
So
for
the
first
month,
a
half
sort
by
by
PA
Oh
in
terms
of
activities,
assisting
you
to
our
expertise
in
communications
and
marketing
in
social
media,
and
so
we
were
able
almost
full-time
with
them.
In
the
meantime,
I'm
very
fortunate
that
the
team
here
at
CBB
is
very
strong
and
they
were
able
to
keep
everything
up,
including
marketing
stuff,
and
so
we
obviously
a
lot
of
the
the
destination
promotion
stopped
we
stopped
and
we
were
in
accordance
to
every
other
destination.
In
Texas
we
were.
B
We
are
still
in
communication
with
with
our
association
with
Texas
the
kzv
Texas
Association
of
CVB's
and
Texas
Tech
Alliance,
just
to
make
sure
that
were
the
mark,
how
the
market
is
moving
and
how
everybody
is
going
about.
So
all
that
helped
and
to
keep
things
moving
along
here
at
CV,
beef
of
some
of
us
were
assisting
yoyo
after
one
and
a
half
things
started.
Shifting
against
that
I
was
able
to
you
come
back
and
as
we
gradually
brought
back
staff,
basically
to
our
building
with
support
this
building.
We
we
always
comment.
B
B
So
we
had
two
to
three
people
depending
on.
Under
the
time
of
the
month,
we
had
up
to
three
people
from
CBP,
assisting
with
the
COBIT
hotline,
and
so
this
allowed
for
us
to
have
people
that
would
normally
be
answering
phones
or
welcoming
visitors
which
we
we
didn't
have,
because
our
office
was
completely
toast.
B
It's
it's
tricky
to
see
in
Mexico,
because
there's
really
it's
very
different
timelines,
but
we
launched
a
campaign
saying
patients
will
see
you
soon
if
traffic
lights
really
nice
and
just
because
people
are
constantly
and
we
kept
their
communications
with
them,
but
people
are
constantly
asking
us:
when
can
we
go
back?
We
want
to
go
shopping,
wet
work.
When
can
we
go
and
so
on?
Social
media
were
counseling
answered,
constantly
answering
those
questions,
so
we
want
to
make
sure
that
we're
in
communications
were
like
worth
together.
B
Our
whole
new
brands
are
our
new
look
everything
so
that
you
have
a
first
look
at
that
and
August
5th
we're
gonna
have
our
hard
lunch,
which
is
we're
gonna,
send
it
to
the
world
and
and
show
it
to
everybody,
so
we're
gonna
that
that's
how
it's
looking
for
for
the
upcoming
and
so
that
set
up.
That's
a
very
broad
recap
of
what
we've
been
doing.
B
Also,
we
started
our
podcast
do
a
lot
of
the
podcasts
with
the
assistance
of
our
agency
in
the
US
with
really,
and
so
now
you
can
go
to
any
platform
where
you
listen
to
your
podcast
and
you
can
download
the
all
a
lot
of
the
podcast
we've
done.
It's
already
the
first
one
dedicated
to
history
because
of
the
65th
and
80th
anniversary.
B
Events
is
one
of
the
things
that
we
have
people
dedicated
to
do:
services
people
dedicated
to
to
operate
the
logistics
of
event.
We
think
that
that's
gonna
come
back
as
strong
and
as
fast
as
we
would
like
to
at
least
not
from
here
to
December,
and
so
what
we're
working
on
us
is
Ana,
having
staff
continue
assisting
health
department
and
another
departments
with
contact
tracing
and
call
center,
so
that
we
can
make
sure
that
those
staff
members
are
not
idle.
B
B
Has
the
racks
and
a
little
bit
of
talk
a
little
bit,
but
we
have
several
things
going
on,
because
we
want
our
office
we're
taking
this
time
to
get
our
office
and
in
shape
in
the
shape
that
we
want,
so
that
we
can
even
do
a
ribbon-cutting,
probably
a
virtual
ribbon-cutting,
but
we
wanted
also
to
you
share
it
with
everybody
and
I'm.
Gonna
jump
really
quick
to
boys
report
before
that.
We
are
also
monitoring
everything
that
goes
on
in
Mexico
I'm
part
of
a
bind
of
mayor
included
me
in
the
meetings.
B
B
Think
more
than
five
years
we
hosted
the
regional
boxing
tournament,
but
this
year,
because
of
the
situation,
they
don't
want
to
have
a
national
massive
event.
Rather,
they
want
to
have
national
states
events,
so
they're
gonna,
because
they've
had
such
a
great
experience
in
Loretto.
They
decided
just
to
come
to
us
and
say:
can
we
do
this,
and
so
we've
had
several
meetings?
Oil
has
led
several
meetings
with
stava
with
the
arena
in
looking
at
the
feasibility
and
organizing
this
event
here
in
Laredo.
B
B
He's
also
working
with,
with
other
most
of
the
events
that
we
had,
obviously
the
conference's
the
meetings
and
sports
events
that
we
had
for
spring
and
summer
got
postponed,
but
boxing
was
one
that
that
they
had
already
mentioned
that
they
wanted
to
bring
turn
them
into
the
pop,
and
then
they
came
back
and
said
well
wha
and
we
want
to
bring
the
one
in
the
summer.
So
coin
has
also
been
working
with
work.
B
D
I
know
my
report:
basically,
we've
done
so
we're
working
on
our
building
I'm
working
on
both
the
retail
space.
Actually,
there
right
now,
I
believe
right
now,
the
girls
are
already
putting
some
items
there
on
the
research
space.
It's
really
nice,
we
got
some,
you
know,
public
works
came
and
helped
us
build
to
mount
some
racks
that
we
have
where
you
would
hang
things
on
the
walls.
It's
really
nice.
Hopefully
you
know
soon.
We
could
share
that
with
you
or
praying
some
of
our
our
promo
items.
D
D
D
So
what
we've
been
reaching
out
and
seeing
you
some
more
items
to
sell
and
to
operate
to
our
visitors
with
you
know,
hopefully
everything
you
know
we're
trying
to
make
it
look
as
it's
pretty
and
inviting
as
we
need
possibly
can,
but
right
now,
I,
guess
everything
is
trial
and
error
and
we're
just
trying
to
work
work
around
what
we
can
and
what
we
looking
at
positive
of
the
situation
and
trying
to
move
forward
to
be
ready.
Whenever
we
have,
you
know
we're
ready
to
attend
by
everybody
to
our
new
offices.
D
We
want
to
do
a
website
where
we
could
offer
our
our
well
virtual
visitors,
who
we
had,
or
at
least
some
of
what
we
have
in
our
sister
cities
festival.
Unfortunately,
you
know
we
had
to
come
to
the
conclusion
to
to
cancel
the
festival
this
year
because
of
the
pandemic,
but
we
are
trying
to
keep
ourselves
alive
and
in
in
in
our
visitors,
our
visitors
first
choice
to
come
to
the
Raider
and
visitors,
especially
for
July.
We
had
numerous
calls
asking
you
know
prior
to
canceling.
It
was
still
going
on
and
it's.
D
Spoken
to
our
visitors
about
Sister,
Cities
I
think
this.
This
time
we
we
saw
the
impact
that
Sister
Cities
has
and
how
much
how
many
much
visitors
do
come
to
our
city.
Because
of
that
event,
a
lot
of
the
people
that
I
spoke
to
were
did
tell
did
tell
me
that
they
planned
their
trip
or
their
summer
trip
in
out
surrounding
the
the
festival.
D
B
Before
before
this
peak,
a
lot
of
people
were
asking
those
like
what.
Why
did
he
cancel?
Couldn't
you
have
figure
it
out,
and
we
certainly
could
have
figure
out
how
to
get
people
into
the
arena
and
in
batches
safely.
But
the
thing
is
that
artisans,
most
of
them
come
from
Mexico
and
Central
America
and
the
timeline
of
the
impact
of
the
virus
in
those
regions.
It's
very
very
different
to
the
timeline
and
the
impact
of
the
virus
in
the
US,
and
so
they
are
behind.
They
were
dead
later,
and
so
they
were.
B
They
are
not
at
this
point.
They
would
not
be
able
to
travel
because
of
that
situation,
and
so
we
we
identified
that
early
in
that
that's
one.
That
was
one
of
the
advantages
of
being
part
of
that
yo-yo
team.
We
were
tracking
everything
every
single
day
and
so
very
early
identify
that
Mexico
was
three
to
four
weeks
behind
in
how
the
the
virus
impacted
them,
and
so,
based
on
that,
we
were
able
to
make
this
decision
of
not
having
sister
cities
in
in
July
and
chased
be
moving
into
to
next
year.
B
Now
the
idea
when
the
website
is
that
it's
gonna,
be
it's
something
that
we're
gonna
launch
in
data
set
in
the
fall,
but
it's
something
that
we're
gonna
be
able
to
grow
and
have
it
as
a
as
an
add-on.
It's
gonna
complement
our
festival
once
a
festival
comes
back
next
year,
hopefully,
and
so
we
don't
see
it
as
a
one-time,
it's
more
of
a
now
we're
gonna,
be
it's
gonna,
be
a
tool
that
we're
gonna
be
able
to
use
to
bring
more
people
once
the
festival
comes
back.
D
I
was
gonna
happen
this
year,
unfortunately,
I
didn't
have
it
or
us,
but
we're
looking
for
this
event
and
to
make
it
you
know
much
bigger
than
it's
already
gone
to.
The
limit.
I
have
to
go
to
second
base
and
that's
what
we're
we're
working
on
and
I
think
this
opportunity
of
doing
in
your
online
and
maybe
having
it.
D
A
B
A
A
A
B
B
B
We
have
stores
that
are
owned
by
local,
so
we
started
shifting
that
message
to
shop
in
Laredo
and
so
and
basically
shop
wherever
you're
gonna
support
a
loretta
family
support
people
in
your
community,
and
so
that
is
very
important
for
us
that
people
choose
right
now
in
Laredo,
so
that
we
can
support
each
other
and
we
can
help
us
help.
Each
other
sustain
those
businesses,
and
so,
as
I
mentioned,
we've
been
working
with
Relic
on
getting
your
life
kicking,
it's
gonna
be
the
the
soft
lunch.
B
And
on
the
social
media
side,
we've
had
a
lot
of
people
are
communicating
with
us,
yes,
social
media,
especially
in
our
in
our
Mexican
market.
So
we
continue
to
have
that
conversation
with
them.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
people
know
that
we're
listening
their
work
here,
and
so
that's
that's,
been
a
great
opportunity.
Also,
we've
maintained
that
communication
with
our
media
in
Mexico
with
our
media
partners.
Just
to
answer
every
question.
B
We
want
to
make
sure
that
the
information
gets
to
them
fair,
first-hand
and
not
through
other
channels
regarding
the
destination
regarding
the
opening
of
the
bridges
every
time,
there's
a
deadline
for
the
bridges
to
lift
their
restrictions.
We
have
all
the
media
calling
us,
and
so
we
want
to
make
sure
that
we
keep
that
communication.
Open
I,
don't
know
if
you
have
any
any
questions
on
Salinas
or
an
awareness
report.
A
C
B
Great
opportunity
we
want,
we
want
our
attractions
to
especially
the
attractions
that
can
happen
in
a
safe
setting.
We
want
them
back
because
that's
gonna,
that's
gonna,
be
key
for
us
to
bring
back
people
and
right
now
what
I
see
it's
great
opportunity
for
our
locals.
We've
always
tried.
We've
always
worked
to
get
our
locals
to
go
out
in
our
community
and
so
silver
lining.
B
This
is
a
great
opportunity
for
our
locals
to
go
explore
in
Loretto,
because
we
don't
we
shouldn't
be
going
we've,
not
that
we
can't,
but
we
should
especially
ones
now
with
the
travel
advisories.
We
shouldn't
be
going
out
out
of
the
community
specially
to
those
hotspots,
and
so
it's
a
great
opportunity
for
us
to
get
people
interested
in
our
destination
and
for
them
to
become
ambassadors
of
our
destination,
like
we've
always
wanted.
So
that's
a
silver
lining
of
this
whole
is
I.
C
Dual
brand
propery,
both
Hilton
properties,
true
and
home
home,
it's
all
suites
hotel.
We
have
a
very,
very
unique
type
of
setup,
very
big
lobbies,
a
lot
of
space
to
for
people
to
hang
out
after
after
working
hours,
we
have
a
pool
table.
We
have
a
game
room
foosball
table
plenty
of
wargames
plenty
of
workspace,
individual
pots,
it's
it's
very
modern,
very
spacious.
C
C
Also,
our
pool
area,
it's
it's
really
really
nice!
You
get
that
feeling
that
you're
on
vacation,
we
have
grills,
it's
it's
it's
a
very
nice
place.
I
will
love
for
everybody
to
to
come
by
and
and
and
see
it
and
we're
very
proud,
we're
very
happy
we're
doing
pretty
good.
We've
seen
a
lot
of
good
response
from
from
locals
as
well
and
and
yeah
little
by
little
we're
we're
getting
there.
Actually.
Last
night
we
have,
we
had
our
first
sold-out
night
yeah,
so
we
sold
out
one
of
the
hotels
for
extended
stays.
C
Yes,
so
yes
we're
very
excited
very,
very
happy.
We
also
have
our
meeting
space
our
meeting
space,
it's
very
nice,
it's
a
good
size,
it's
not
your
huge
room,
but
it's
it's
plenty
of
good
space
to
host
meetings
or
social
events.
We
also
have
the
capacity
to
chew
right
getting
to
rooms
and
we
have
also
a
ballroom
so
we're
here
for
or
Laredo.
C
So,
yes
and
anything
that
that
you
guys,
you
know,
need
or
you're
looking
for
a
place
to
meet
or
anything
or
our
rooms
are
very
spacious
and
and
and
and
right
now
we
have.
We
have
land
our
our
space
or
or
or
organization
that
are
hosting
their
their
board
meetings
and
stuff,
like
that,
so
you
ever
need
anything
feel
free
to
reach
out.
C
C
Some
strength
we
have
it
lay
down
for
anybody,
we're
keeping
everybody
on
our
on
our
on
our
payroll.
So
you
know
we
continue
to
to
get
BC
and
we're
we're
it's
a
good
opportunity
for
everybody
to
to
get
better
and
to
get
stronger
and
and
yeah
what
we're
trying
to
do
that.
We're
remodeling,
La
Quinta
as
well,
so
yeah
Lisa,
a
lot
of
exciting
things
are
happening.
Yeah.
C
You
wanna
come
by
yes,
it's
very
nice
and
and
and
it's
very
spacious
so
right
now
it
is
very
good
because
again
we
want
the
social
distancing
and
everything.
So
we
have
plenty
of
space
in
the
lobbies
and
and
and
we
have
several
outdoor
patios-
we
have
three
patios.
So
it's
it's
nice,
it's
very,
very
we're
very
proud.
We
have
a
really
gorgeous
mural
right,
I
mean
that
represent
the
radio.
It's
a
large,
yes
yeah,
yeah,
very,
very
artist
and
represent
your
rate
of
blaring
there's.
A
B
It's
basically
mostly
free
Kovac
done
and
they've
been
in
contact
with
our
ageism
where
the
travel
agents
via
telephone
during
this
time,
and
so
they
they're
keep
the
key
operation
someone's
still
doing
sales
over
the
phone
and
maintaining
the
operation.
They
just
went
back
to
the
office.
Last
week,
they've
been
working
remotely
so
far,
so
good.
A
A
I
know
that
we
adjourn
the
meeting
and
thank
you
so
much
Eileen
and
staff.
You
know
for
the
rain
in
there
and
you
know
they're
not.
You
know
we
didn't
expect
to
have
a
meeting,
and
this
is
very,
very
nice
just
to
be
able
to
hear
from
you
all
it
wasn't
static.
What's
going
on,
then
it
is
so
good.
Not
you.
