Description
Laredo Center for Agriculture and Sustainability Meeting 092123
A
I'm
still
in
the
morning,
roll
call.
B
Should
I
do
it?
Christina,
JJ,
Gomez,
yeah,
Orlando,
navato,.
B
A
C
C
That
happened
last
time
for
me,
and
you
know,
except
for
the
minutes,
and
it
would
turn
as
well,
but
something
that
we
also
implemented
moving
forward
is
to
have
the
grants
as
an
active
item
on
the
agenda
so
that
we,
whenever
we
meet,
we
don't
have
to
wait
until
the
next
meeting
to
have
a
grant
so
by
putting
it
in
the
agenda
as
an
ongoing
active
item
whenever
a
grant
opportunity
comes
up
or
whenever
we
need
to
take
action
because
sometimes
we've
granted
deadlines
are
really
quick,
it'll
be
on
there.
C
So
if
you
look
at
the
agenda,
it
now
includes
discussion
with
possible
action
on
granite,
update
and
so
that'll
just
give
us
that
flexibility.
C
The
secretary's
reporter
and
if
anybody
wants
to
put
a
motion
to
accept
them,
an
incentive
presented.
E
A
He's
had
it
I've
been
doing
it,
but
aren't
they
here.
C
C
Yeah
the
Oakland
carry
on
with
the
meeting
and
I'll
get
the
ministry.
Okay.
A
So
on
to
the
password
report,
since
Roberto's
in
here,
I
I
think
we're
gonna
have
to
go
to
the
next
one.
Less.
A
A
So
we'll
defer
that
item
to
the
next
meeting
and
go
to
the
executive
director's
report.
Thank
you.
Do
you
have
a
copy
of
your
report?
Did
you
send.
G
The
deadline
closes
October,
15,
I,
15
or
16.,
and
last
year
I
applied
my
Metro
I
have
a
project
called
pepper
project
which
is
working
in
the
garden
with
Children
and
Youth.
We
apply
I
applied
last
year
that
we
didn't
get
it
because
we
didn't
make
the
requirements
which
the
main
requirement
was
to
have
the
50123.
Now
we
have
it
now
we're
going
to
request
approval
to
apply.
F
G
Philanthropic
information,
now
what
I
think
like
I
think
honestly
that
they
didn't
make
your
requirements
and
also
the
computer
and
new
organization?
They
don't
know
us
yet
so
my
second
line
here
is
can,
if
someone
from
the
world-
or
you
know
someone
from
the
lbb
that
they
want
to
come
and
see
your
work,
come
to
the
garden
and
see
what
you
do.
G
A
Okay,
so
I
don't
know
what
the
application
looks
like.
D
Well,
we
didn't
get
it,
but
one
of
the
tips
that
they
did
tell
us
was
to
make
sure
whenever
you
applying,
they
will
support
educational,
Community,
Education
yeah.
So
just
I
think
if
you
are.
F
A
F
G
I
can
apply
a
real
life
yeah
again
I
applied
before
you
send
me
that
all.
F
G
Last
year
ago,
but
that's
an
open
application,
so
I
believe
you
can
apply
Advanced
at
one
time
per
year.
F
A
I
know
the
the
also
the
Moreno
area
foundation
is
doing
like
10
to
15
000
grants.
So
you
should
look
that
one
up
as
well
right.
It's
a
local
Laredo
area
foundation
area.
Yes,.
A
So
maybe
you
can
send
us
a
or
something
explain.
B
A
List
of
the
grandson
and
I'll
link
to
the
grants-
and
maybe
I,
can
give
you
some
pointers.
Yeah.
A
G
G
Now
it's
lovely:
this
is
the
time
of
the
YouTube
people.
Slowly
comes
back
to
the
Garden.
This
is
actually
the
our
system
is
like
the
school's
calendar.
People
go
back
to
school,
then
they'll
start
coming
to
the
Garden
to
remain.
Enjoy
them.
I
think
that's
that
space
room
June
to
August
very,
very
difficult.
F
A
G
F
D
A
Do
you
have
a
contact
person
that
you
talk
through
there?
Yes,.
G
A
A
Well,
I
think
we
need
to
apply,
but
we
need
to
also
look
at
it.
We
need
to
see
what
you're
applying
for,
because
or
how
you're
applying
to
review
the
grant
itself.
A
H
A
I
know
but
they're
asking
you
for
a
budget.
Yes,.
D
Go
ahead
and
send
it
to
me:
I'll
get
back
to
the
office
and
see
because
I
know
we
were
applying
for
that
last
week.
So
let
me
see
what
how
does
it.
G
D
G
A
So
if
we
could
just
take
this
to
a
just
to
approve
and
applying
with
the
help
of
media
award
for
myself
or
to
do
a
little
review
and
provide.
D
D
A
G
F
E
E
A
H
E
A
H
H
A
H
She
sent
us
an
email.
Oh
my.
She
sent
us
an
email
requesting
possible
office
space
for
for
Lucas
to
challenge
myself.
I'll
get
Mr,
Chamberlain
was
involved
in
there
too.
You
know,
I
think
it's
a
great
idea.
I
mean
it's
there's
office
space
there,
the
first
of
all
right
the
second
floor.
So
that's
another
one,
but
if
we
can
I
mean
it's
remodeled,
it's
really
nice!
It's
just.
We
have
a
conference
room
there.
We
it's
just
a
matter
of
going
to
get
it
in
an
mou.
H
I
would
imagine
with
the
city
something
that
the
organization
would
have
to
approach
Management
in
our
new
department
so
that
we
can
come
up
with
an
NYU
as
possibly
use
that
as
an
office.
F
H
F
H
E
For
me,
I
just
mentioned
something
CM,
so
you
got
everyone
reach
out
to
Dr
chamberton
to
get
in
and
just
wanted
to
very
quickly.
Let
you
all
know
that
the
city
is
living
in
team
of
board
with
the
office
space.
The
meeting
will
be
held
at
a
later
date.
So
so,
okay,
that's
whisker.
H
H
So
I
guess
I
guess
what
we
can
do.
Is
you
know
your
cell
phone
network
or
Richard
to
reach
out
to
Alejandra?
That's
our
console
assistant
to
set
up
a
meeting
whether
regarding
this
order.
F
B
B
A
Well,
did
we
vote
on
the
grants
or
not
yet?
No,
not
yet,
okay,
so
with
there's
a
motion
to
to
go
ahead
and
give
our
executive
director
a
green
light
on
two
grants
which
he
will
share
with
us
on
Google
and
and
we'll
be
able
to
help
with
some
remarks.
A
A
B
A
Passes
on
to
the
next,
oh
okay,
Sabrina,
you
just
came
just
in
time.
Are
you
ready
to
give
your
food
policy
Council
update
from
the
last
meeting.
E
Yeah
our
last
meeting,
so
we
changed
our
leading
instructor
to
the
first
Tuesdays
of
each
month
at
2PM.
I
believe
our
next
meeting
is
October
3rd,
also
at
2PM
and
we're
using
Christina
Guatemala.
E
E
That
will
be
November,
okay,
so
the
first
two
there
that
you
know
that's
right:
December,
7th,
yeah,
yes,
so
last
meeting
some
of
the
things
we
one
thing
we
thought
about
was
the
the
Master
Gardener
program,
I'm,
still
waiting
to
hear
back
from
Angie
Salinas
at
the
Webb
County
Extension,
Office
and
they're,
going
to
have
I
mean
it's
open
to
anybody.
Who's
interested
I
think
also
who's
interested
in
getting
that
certificate,
but
also
there
are
people
that
go
through
the
program
need
to
complete
hands
on
hours,
60.
G
E
E
Right
so,
but
if
you
all
would
like
to
go
through
the
plan
and
particularly
the
the
implementation
Matrix
that
are
kind
of
in
the
end
of
the
of
the
packet
and
and
highlight
what
you
find
that
is
already
happening,
or
also
something
you
would
like
to
take
an
initiative
on
and
something
you
think
back
in
that
can
happen
and
then
come
to
our
next
Food
policy
council
meeting
and
present
kind
of
online.
E
A
A
And
just
to
add,
on
a
little
bit
on
what
Sabrina
said,
there
are
already
projects
in
motion
that
are
in
the
plan.
If,
in
a
way
my
pen
is
something,
do
I
have
income.
B
A
I
just
want
to
be
talking,
however,
the
purple
notes
or
something
okay,
so
there
are
if
there,
if
it's,
not
exactly
it's
very
close
to
what
is
already
being
suggested
in
the
plan
and
what
we're
asking
the
people
here
and
departments
and
organizations
and
people
in
the
food
policy
Council
or
the
orgs
and
the
food
policy
Council
to
start.
You
know
kind
of
breaking
those
silos
and
helping
get
this
Five-Year
Plan.
A
A
The
whole
point
of
the
exercise
is
to
break
those
silos
and
get
everybody
done
to
start,
recognizing
that
they
can
their
synergies
and
working
together
on
some
of
these
things,
not
to
mention
it's
a
lot
more
fun
than
doing
it
by
yourself
and
anyways.
So
the
idea
is
to
definitely
you
know,
start
making
these
projects
that
are
already
happening.
A
As
an
example,
there
is
a
project
that
several
orgs
are
working
on:
the
health
department,
lcuas
and
City
main
green,
with
people
of
lived
experience
in
Azteca
neighborhood
to
address
food
desert
issues
that
are
causing
a
lot
of
problems
in
this
area.
It's
a
very
isolated
part
of
the
city.
It's
it's
a!
If
you
all
have
not
been
there
I'm
sure
most
of
you
have,
but
it's
a
beautiful
area
in
the
city
in
terms
of
the
greens,
resources
that
are
there
there,
it's
a
very
a
unique
part
of
the
city.
A
It
has
the
only
waterfall
in
the
city.
It
has
so
many
incredible
qualities,
but
it
has
no
meeting
space,
no,
the
the
little
store.
That
was
there
closed
the
HEB
closed.
They
are
have
several
I
mean
it
answers
several
of
these
healthy
food
system,
these
different
sectors
very,
very
directly,
and
if,
if
the
Methodist
Healthcare
System
does
support
this
particular
project,
there's
a
potential
of
over
a
million
dollars
that
are
going
into
that
particular
project.
A
It's
it's
a
complex
process
with
them,
but
it
means
it's
a
is
a.
It
is
a
a
project
that
also
can
be
a
blueprint
for
other
areas
of
the
city
that
experience
the
same
problem,
maybe
not
in
exactly
the
same
way.
But
if,
if
it's
able
to
work,
it's
it'll
work
in
other
places,
we
have
also.
A
Is
there
any
other
project
that
we're
missing?
I
know
that
there's
a
couple
but
the
Only
Rule
under
the.
G
G
A
We
are,
he
does
want
a
they
volunteer-based
community
garden
in
his
district,
and
certainly
we
know
Hubble's
work,
it's
different
from
just
the
community
garden
where
people
just
go
and,
of
course,
have
been
a
little
plot.
We
know
that
doesn't
work,
so
this
is
it's.
A
He
was
away
for
a
few
days
it's
supposed
to
meet
and
talk
about
that
we'll
get
together
and
we'll
see
if
there's
a
project
there.
So
we
do
have
in
this
one
community,
Farm
Garden
I'm,
trying
to
change
it
from
garden
to
farm
community
Farm
anticipated
as
part
of
the
first
three
years
or
I.
Don't
know
if
it's
the
five
years,
one
in
each
district
I
think
we
have
three
done
but
like
we
have
fun
Central
and
one
District.
We
have
the
one
that
Hillside
that's
another.
H
It's
yeah,
no,
it's
still
awkward.
It's
we
have.
We
were.
We
got
the
elderly
they're
working
with
mandated
as
well.
So.
G
A
H
G
B
C
I
wanted
to
introduce
this
Byron
Mondays
she's
from
timing.
You
and
I
wanted
to
see
if
we
could
nominate
her
as
an
academic
sector.
Representative
I've
worked
with
her
ever
since
I
started
at
Department
of
Services
she's,
very
capable
and
she's.
C
She
has
a
great
team
behind
her
and
she's
involved
in
a
lot
of
the
similar
initiatives
that
we
have
growing,
that
I'm
in
she's,
no
stranger
to
lcuas
she's,
been
here
in
previous
meetings
and
we're
in
preparation
for
the
food
policy
Council
the
Town
Event,
and
so
you
know,
she's
very
well.
Qualified
I,
think
for
the
role
and
I
think
it
would
really
tell.
F
E
With
gardening
or
make
a
difference,
big
events,
service
projects
or
other
initiatives,
or
you
were
a
student
at
the
University
and
who
worked
for
medical
projects,
so
anything
that
you
will
need
again.
It
will
be
a
representative
from
the
education
perspective
and
so
I'm
eager
to
see
what
else
we
need
to
partner
with
school
districts
and
the
quality
speakers.
Sales
are
definitely
uniform
to
educate
our
new
and
incoming
workers.
E
A
Thank
you
for
accepting
nomination
and
all
those
who
dependent.
F
F
A
A
A
A
So
discussion
with
possible
action
on
hiring
a
program
coordinator
to
assist
in
managing
the
mission
of
Lucas
and
the
goals
of
healthy
food
system
plan
with
the
LaRue
food
policy.
Council
I
put
this
I
put
the
side
upon
the
agenda
just
to
begin
discussion
on
this,
because
the
grant
that
helped
us
finish
this
and
help
with
the
facilitation.
So
you
may
bring
with
the
policy
Council
so.
A
You
know
that
doesn't
mean
we
won't
help.
That
doesn't
mean
that
we
won't
continue
to.
A
You
know
another
executive
program.
This
is
like
a
program
for
it
here
that
would
take
on
the
programming,
which
was
huge,
endeavor,
we'll
get
you
the
bylaws.
Also
we'll
send
them
to
you
so
that
right
so.
A
What
he's
been
trying
to
do
by
himself
so
and
it's
just
like
not
awesome
so
I'm
putting
this
on
I
mean.
Obviously
the
money
is
not
there,
but
what
we're?
What
I
just
want
to
hear
from
you
all
is
you
know
to
put
it
on
the
horizon
and
to
say:
okay,
if
we're
taking
all
of
these
things
that
this
organization
is
supposed
to
do.
B
D
It
okay,
yeah
and
then
admission,
and
also
it
will
give
you
more
opportunities
for
Grants.
So,
instead
of
you
thinking
of
a
program
instead
of
you
wanting
to
create
a
program
for
the
grant,
we
need
to
have
it
already
organized
to
where
there's
the
programs
are
already
established,
and
it's
easier
for
us
to
look
back
to
the
programs
for
the
threats
you
can
mean
like.
Instead
of
trying
to
come
up
with
something
that
it
might
work,
it
might
not
work
they
might
like
it.
They
might
might
not
like
it
so
I
do
agree.
D
D
E
The
lbb
grant
is
aligned
with
educational
components
correct
which
equals
to
a
potential
position
to
provide
that
support.
So
maybe
that's
an
idea.
Instead
of
focusing
on
the
actual
program
itself,
rather
look
for
funding
to
secure
for
a
position
to
help
reporting
and
logistically
streamline
the
resources.
I,
don't
know,
that's
something
of
thought.
A
Okay
and
that's
what
so,
they
can
build
capacity
in
that
way
if
they,
if
they
do,
that,
that's
an
incredible
that
would
be
great
if
they
did
that
we
need
those
kinds
of
organizations
that
will
help
build
capacity.
A
I
know
that
the
city
is
interested
in
lcuis
and
that's
the
climate,
change
debate
and
realities
happen.
The
more
interested
everybody
is,
and
we
have
a
huge
responsibility
to
the
city,
whether
it
be
food,
accessibility,
water,
soil,
you
know,
canopy,
there's
another
project
and
I
stepped
out
for
addressing
canopy.
That's
part
of
that
Grant
as
well.
Lcuas
is
on
as
well
it's.
It
is
a
it's
a
mammoth
undertaking,
so
anybody
else
have
I'd
really
like
to
hear
what
you
all
think.
This
is.
H
A
F
H
F
H
A
H
F
F
H
A
Here
yeah,
it
says
no
okay,
okay
hold
on
just
a
second
well
wrong.
Word.
E
F
B
A
A
A
I
will
send
out
an
email
with
like
with
the
Google
Doc
and
I
will
put
the
bylaws
in
there
and
I'll
put
you
know
just
so
that
we
know
what
we're
supposed
to
be
looking
for
and
and
just
you
know,
build
it
up
that
way
and
see
what
we
come
up
with
for
the
next
meeting.
Just
so
that
we
can,
you
know,
get
this
ball
rolling.
D
We
would
you
be
able
to
add
the
second
character's
description
as
well,
but
we
can
kind
of
go
there
and.
B
A
E
G
G
A
A
A
This
is
something
one
discussion
with
possible
action
to
hire
an
accountant
to
file
as
needed
to
maintain
our
501c3
with
an
IRS
with
the
IRS
I.
Don't
know
how
else
to
do
this,
except
that
we
need
to
get
somebody
on
board
and
start
reviewing
our
books,
because
we're
going
to
need
to
file
with
the
IRS
the
501c3.
A
A
F
D
Don't
think
we
have
a
lot
of
like
movement
and
things
that
we
it
doesn't
need
like
a
lot
like
a
big
file
for
now
so
I
can
I
can
mention
it
and
that's
cool
we've
been
meeting
with
her
a
couple
of
times
a
week
because
we're
working
on
some
stuff
with
Main
Street,
but
so
I
can
definitely
bring
it
up
and
ask
them
to
explain
the
situation
that
we're
fairly
new
for
501c3
there's,
not
a
lot
of
action
in
our
bank
accounts
and
but
what
we
just
to
see
how
Holly
can
help
us
or
how
much
more
charges
just
to
keep
fighting.
D
So
we
can
continue
on
keeping
the
50123
so
I'll
talk
to
him
tomorrow.
It's.
A
D
A
Made
though
somebody
else
I,
just
I,
don't
remember
her
last
name,
Jackie.
D
A
D
I
mean
I
can
go
through
Jackie.
First.
G
A
I
think
we
need
a
motion
for
that.
So
all
those
oh.
H
F
A
B
F
H
Just
for
the
record
for
this
meeting,
I
think
I
walked
in
late
was
what
we
had
it
here.
Is
that
right,
so
we
have
a
hero:
yeah,
oh
okay,
so
yeah.
A
All
those
are
gas
motion
carries
motion
to
adjourn,
looks.
