Description
Laredo City Council Regular Meeting Part 3 040620
A
A
A
A
And
I
think
the
next
agenda
item
b3
reads:
discussion
of
possible
action
to
keep
the
transit
green
for
six
months
to
keep
people
mobile
and
any
matters
incident
there.
This
one's
also
co-sponsored
by
mr.
mr.
Torres,
dr.
Martinez
and
mr.
Rodriguez
and
I
think
we
should
do
just
that.
We've
got
to
keep.
We
gotta
keep
people
moving.
It
sounds
like.
A
A
A
Transit
system,
we
have
first
round
of
information
coming
from
the
the
promenade
transportation
last
week
and
since
then
we'll
be
in
participating
in
different
numbers
of
webinars
and
meetings,
conferences,
first
with
the
Department
of
Transportation
and
then
with
the
next
up
here.
The
state,
a
lot
of
information
I,
was
still
reviewing
those
expenses
that
are
eligible
for
the
most
part,
everything
that
we've
been
doing
above
and
beyond,
and
you
know
PPE
cleaning
and
tips
like
that.
A
Those
are
going
to
be
100%
possible,
we're
still
dealing
and
and
requiring
clarification
as
far
as
labor
that
that's
definitely
a
big
chunk
of
our
expense.
So
we're
still
trying
to
understand
how
much
we're
going
to
be
able
to
to
use
this
nine
point:
nine
million
dollars
we're
gonna,
try
and
maximize
those
dollars
in
combining
them
in
the
best
possible
way.
So
we
can
maximize
the
operating
dollars
the
real
way.
A
We
see
so
I'm
confident
that
we're
going
to
be
able
to
cover
the
deficit,
but
still
too
early
for
me
to
ensure
and
and
tell
you
why
now
we're
going
to
cover
the
deficit,
so
I
understand
and
I'm
a
percent
with
the
idea
of
providing
right
now
that
essential,
motility
right
now
the
people
are
taking
the
bus.
We
can
guarantee
the
transit
dependent
population
for
the
service
and
then.
A
A
B
B
B
We
have
advertising
at
the
outlet
Shoppes
at
the
arena
on
the
loop,
and
we
just
talked
to
attorney
medium
they'll,
be
giving
us
some
free
advertising
with
their
digital
billboards.
We
have
Lamar
Advertising
that
give
us
some
digital
billboards.
So
that's
already
up
as
well
on
specific
and
high
traffic
areas
around
Laredo.
We
have
our
text
message
group
and
that
we
send
out
daily
text
about
at
least
two
everyday
to
thousands
of
people
in
the
radome.
In
both
English
and
Spanish.
B
We
have
a
website,
City,
Lord,
Ockham,
slash
coronavirus
with
all
the
information
on
there
very
detailed,
and
we
have
daily
press
release
as
I
go
out.
They
are
usually
given
out
in
yulish
and
we
translate
them
in
Spanish,
but
they're
available
in
both
languages
on
the
website.
So
we
are
reaching
every
single
market,
including
radio
we've
been
doing
a
couple
of
interviews
in
LA
and
getting
our
communications,
our
communications
and
they
also
part
of
our
media
briefings.
But
we
do
plan
to
wrap
ramped
up
some
of
our
advertising
with
the
media
and
free.
C
A
E
Sir
I've
been
here
planning
director,
everything
is
continuing,
is
normal,
where
we're
not
receiving
any
we're,
not
changing
any
of
our
things
that
we're
taking
we're
processing
applications,
plants,
zoning
applications,
everything
just
like
normal.
We
missed
a
couple
of
me
due
to
the
library
bringing
shut
down
and
then
the
order
from
Council,
but
everything
else
is
move
forward.
Everything's
scheduled
as
normal.
E
Today
we
did
have
a
meeting
or
MPO
meeting
we're
gonna
follow
the
same
pattern
for
our
Planning
Commission,
we're
using
WebEx
we're
using
we're
taking
online
submissions
and
we're
taking
call
on
the
comment
by
callin
following
best
practices
that
we've
been
advised
by
the
state
and
also
by
by
legal
and
the
city,
so
where
everything's
being
done
appropriately
so
we're
moving
forward.
Just
like
we
have
been,
nothing
has
changed
for
us
for
planning.
A
E
The
first
ones,
because
we
noticed
at
the
library
and
then
the
library
was
closed,
and
so
we
can't
just
change
the
meeting
location
overnight.
That's
something
we
have
to
notice
multiple
days
in
advance.
So
we
missed
that
one
and
then
the
one
after
that
we
missed,
because
we
were
advised
by
counsel.
Initially,
there
was
the
two-week
period,
all
committees,
commissions
and
everything
was
canceled,
but
we've
since
clarified,
and
everything
is
set
up
on
schedule
since
then.
A
Applications,
the
verifications
and
all
the
financial
paperwork,
because
the
city
and
the
the
county-
that's
not
the
expertise
oppressors
does
something.
Similar
college
station
has
done
a
very
much
smaller
effort.
They
they
use
community
development
funds
to
do
a
three
hundred
thousand
dollar.
You
know
program
a
year.
These
programs
are
excellent,
just
keep
in
mind
that
you're
you're
going
to
help
only
a
certain
amount
of
businesses
with
that
without
funding,
because
even
a
million
dollars
you
at
ten
thousand
dollars
you're
going
to
help
a
hundred
businesses
and
there's
about
30,000
business.
