Description
Veterans Affairs Committee Meeting 062321
A
All
right
good
morning,
this
is
the
veterans
affairs
committee
that
is
being
held
at
the
laredo
city
council
chambers,
1110,
houston
street
laredo,
texas.
The
time
is
10
0
6
a.m,
and
I'm
calling
this
meeting
to
order
woodarn,
please
rise
for
the
pledge
of
allegiance
and
I'll
ask
councilmember
perez
to
lead
us
in
the
pledge.
Please.
A
C
If
possible,
instead
of
having
a
roll
call
by
name,
you
would
hold
roll
call
by
name
and
also
a
military
organization
they're
affiliated
with,
for
example,
my
name
is
jake
gattu,
I'm
affiliated
with
disabled
american
veterans,
cesar
martinez,
commander,
american
energy
post.
Can
we
proceed
along
those
lines?
Okay,.
B
B
When
it
comes
to
voting,
it's
only
going
to
be
one
vote
per
group:
okay,
guys
marine
corps
league
here,
mr
alvarez.
Yes,
sir
south,
texas,
afghanistan,
iraqi
veterans,
mr
lopez,
valor.
E
F
B
Webb
county
service
office
that's
advisory,
only
not
a
voting
group
because
they're
from
the
web
county
president,
mr.
A
A
G
B
A
Have
ten
all
right?
Thank
you,
mr
jimenez.
The
next
item
would
be
citizens
comments.
Did
anyone
sign
up
for
citizens
comments?
Yes,.
C
Good
morning,
my
name
good
morning,
my
name
is
chief
into
disabled
american
veterans.
We
like
to
extend
a
point
of
order
because,
as
as
we
proceed
in
this
meeting,
we're
having
already
a
problem,
there
are
veterans
groups
here
that
are
recognized
by
congress
by
the
state
and
locally
and
I'll
give
an
example
of
vfw
9194
nationally
recognized.
I'm
part
of
that
group.
Okay,
marine,
coordinated,
nationally
recognized.
C
American
veterans,
myself,
we're
part
nationally
recognized
korean
world
veterans,
naturally
recognized
anybody
else
that
I'm
not
a
miss
anybody
else.
Somebody
else,
so
you
have
other
groups
that
are
not
veterans,
not
recognized.
C
Okay,
anybody
else,
so
we
would
request
that
you,
please
compare
veterans
groups
to
veterans
groups
and
organizations
that
have
a
national
affiliation
that
have
a
state
affiliation,
okay
and
recognize
those
only.
I
don't
know
how
what
other
method
you're
going
to
do
to
recognize
everybody
else.
That's
here!
That's
the
only
comment
that
we
proceed
along
those
lines.
B
A
That's
what
I
was
going
to
mention,
so
this
is
a
city
committee,
a
city
commission.
The
mayor
was
given
the
authority
to
appoint
the
council
members
and
that's
we
have
councilman
perez
here
myself,
councilmember
gonzalez,
who
couldn't
be
here
today,
in
addition
to
there's
been
several
items
in
the
agendas
where
he
is
appointing
these
commissions
or
these
organizations
or
affiliate
groups
to
serve
on
the
committee.
So
it
is
a
city
created
committee.
Therefore,
the
mayor
has
the
authority
to
recognize
whatever
group
he
wants
and
he's
deemed
that
as
the
recognition
I.
C
A
And
again
with
mr
ganto,
I
don't
mean
to
be
disrespectful
or
rude,
but
it's
going
to
fall
on
deaf
ears,
because
we
don't
have
the
authority
to
recognize
or
disenfranchise
any
of
the
groups.
Here
again
the
mayor
is
the
one
that
did
that
and
maybe
you
might
want
to
speak
to
him
or
send
him
correspondence
or
come
to
the
next
council
meeting,
but
he's
already
recognized
these
groups
and
we
must
proceed
the
meeting
with
the
recognition
he's
already
made
and.
B
A
C
And
I'll
make
one
last
comment
and
I'll
leave
the
podium.
You
have
to
compare
apple
samples
and
oranges
to
oranges.
It's
okay
for
lack
of
a
better
word
we're
the
real
mccoy
we
are:
we've
got
a
national
affiliation,
we
have
a
state
affiliation,
we
have
a
local
affiliation
and
why
the
mayor
chooses
not
to
not
to
observe
that
or
recognize
that
is
beyond
me,
but
anyways.
That's.
A
G
Yes,
one
of
the
things
that
I
wanted
to
bring
up
was
the
an
item
that
I
would
like
to
see
if
it
could
be
put
in
there
in
the
on
the
agenda.
Every
time
we
meet,
stating
that
it
is
going
to
be
issues
and
concerns
of
the
local
va
clinic
that
we
have
here.
G
I
know
the
va
cleaning
is
national
federal,
but
they
provide
services
to
local
citizens
who
are
veterans,
and
we
have
a
lot
of
a
lot
of
concerns
with
that
va
clinic,
even
if
we
might
start
bringing
in
speakers
from
that
place
because
we
have
had
meetings.
I
have
had
meetings
with
some
of
the
big
boys
from
including
college,
which
is
the
coastal
bend
valley,
va
va
system
which
they
they're
in
charge
of
their
hall.
Engine
they're
in
charge
of
the
mcallen
va
corpus,
cba
and
laredo,
and
we
would
like
to
have.
G
Maybe
we
can
bring
some
speakers
because
every
time
we
have
a
meeting
locally
here
with
these
people,
you
know
three
or
four
years
ago
we've
been
trying
to
get
some
things
done,
nothing
happens.
So
maybe
with
this
committee
we
can
put
some
pressure
something
positive
to
to
to
to
help
veterans
out.
So
I
would
like
my
concerns
to
see
we
can
have
it
on
on
a
monday.
This
meeting
is
gonna,
be
every
month
right.
B
Well,
that's
some
monday
agenda,
sir
we're
going
to
get
to
later
on
today.
Do
we.
G
B
A
A
A
We
do
want
to
state-
and
we
have
our
city
secretary
present
here
today-
that
this
committee
is
a
veterans
affairs
committee,
and
it
is
the
city
secretary's
interpretation
that
the
council,
along
with
the
veterans
affairs
director
for
the
county
and
the
liaison
for
this
committee,
serve
take
a
backseat
approach
and
serve
an
advisory
capacity,
and
you
all
will
be
selecting
a
chair
vice
chair
and
secretary
amongst
the
group
that
is
present
here
today
and
once
that
is
done,
you
all
will
then
continue
running
the
meeting
and
we
will
intervene
as
deemed
appropriate
or
necessary
and
at
the
same
time
we
will
ask
questions
or
or
prompt
anything
that
we
want
ask
from
staff
the
liaison
or
any
of
the
veterans
groups.
B
A
And
we
will
make
note
of
that.
So
we
have
a
nomination
for
mr
gomez
to
serve
as
secretary
any
other
nominations.
Any
other
nominations,
any
other
nominations.
If
there
are
none
all
those
in
favor.
Please
signify
by
saying
any
opposed
same
sign.
Motion
carries
congratulations!
Mr
gomez,
you're
the
secretary
at
this
time
many
nominations
for
vice
chair
vice.
D
A
A
A
Mr
alvarez,
do
you
accept
the
nomination
for
vice
chair?
He
accepts
a
nomination,
any
other
nominations
from
the
floor.
Any
other
nominations,
any
other
nominations.
If
there
are
none,
can
we
please
have
a
show
of
hands
for
mr
lopez
to
serve
as
vice
chair
for
mr
lopez
or
charles
meister?
Please
hold
your
hands
up
in
the
air.
A
A
J
A
Did
and
I
acknowledge
that
for
the
record-
any
nominations
for
chair
mr
cantu.
C
A
A
Okay,
mr
alvarez
and
mr
gomez,.
A
E
Good
morning,
let
me
start
by
thanking
you
for
having
the
confidence
in
in
choosing
me
for
to
be
your
chairman
of
this
committee.
That
is
a
long
time
coming.
This
committee
has
been
inactive
for
for
a
while,
and
I
want
to
thank
everybody
else
here
today-
we're
going
to
start
with
just
the
preliminary.
E
Agenda
that
we
have,
after
we
discuss
all
of
these
items
on
the
agenda,
then
we're
going
to
talk
about
different
issues
that
we
have
for
the
next
meeting,
where
we're
going
to
meet
or
not
so
right.
Now,
what
I'm
going
to
do
is
follow
the
agenda
that
was
prepared
by
by
their
niacin
and
the
city.
I
believe,
I'm
not
sure
who
prefer
the
agenda,
but
it
is
a
good
agenda
and.
F
Good
morning,
gentlemen,
congratulations
by
the
way
it's
an
honor
to
be
here
today
among
warriors,
you
all
know
how
I
feel
about
you
and
what
I'm
doing
in
this
community,
for
you,
I'm
the
commander
of
the
vfw,
but
I
also
represent
my
civilian
job
as
a
veterans
program
coordinator
for
the
texas
veterans
network
and
we're
brand
new
here
in
laredo,
but
we
are
definitely
making
an
impact
and
veteran
communities
really.
F
My
sole
job
here
is
to
represent
you
all
and-
and
this
is
again
my
civilian
sector.
What
I
want
to
do
for
this
community
for
laredo
is
bring
tiny
homes
to
this
area,
and
we
have
an
organization
we're
working
with
in
san
antonio,
called
bridging
the
gap
they
are
willing
to
donate
up
to
40
tiny
homes
to
laredo
texas,
already
built
ready
to
go.
All
we
have
to
do
is
find
a
location,
and
I
I
know
I'm
over
simplifying
it.
F
A
Mr
chairman,
yes
on
this
one:
where
is
it
over
there?
Yes,
sir,
we'll
take
the
proposal,
that's
that's
being
brought
to
us
and
we'll
put
an
item
at
the
city
council
agenda
if
the
liaison
could
communicate
this
to
city
management-
and
I
can
sponsor
the
item
so
that
we
can
start
the
process
for
that
donation
of
the
40
tiny
homes.
G
F
E
Anybody
wants
to
speak
on
this
subject
or
any
other
subject.
Please
approach
the
at
the
podium,
and
so
they
might
can
can
pick
it
up
because
you'll
be
recorded.
This
meeting
is
being
recorded,
so
anybody
has
any
comments.
Please
approach
the
podium
so
that
we
can
let
everybody
hear
you
and
the
recording
the
equipment
can
can
pick
up
your
what
you
say,
mr
segovia.
D
I
would
just
like
to
know,
as
what
qualifies
your
veteran
to
for
one
of
these
tiny
homes,
and
what
is
the
number
of
occupants
that
that
home
can
carry,
or
you
know,
occupy.
E
Like
I
said
when
we
started
this
meeting,
this
is
the
the
first
meeting.
We've
had
and
there's
a
very
preliminary
agenda
that
we
have,
and
all
of
this
will
be
for
the
next
meeting-
that
we
can
have
all
the
data,
the
backup
data
that
we
need
to
to
answer
all
these
questions.
Obviously
we
don't
have
the
the
experts
here
to
answer
that
is
that
correct,
sir.
E
But
it
is
something
that
is
needed
not
only
in
nareda
but
nationwide.
I
mean
there
is
a
lot
of
homeless
veterans,
so
it's
something
that
we
need
to
to
be
able
to
to
have
all
the
data
available
that
we
don't
have
it
available
right
now.
It's
just
an
item
that
we
have
here.
So
we
can
start
the
discussion,
including
the
syria,
trying
to
see
if
we
can
find
some
some
land
where
we
can
put
this
and
all
those
questions
will
be.
E
I
Yes,
sir,
go
ahead
I'll,
bring
some
clarification
on
that
question.
My
name
is
gavin
lopez.
I
currently
serve
with
the
laredo
homeless
coalition
and
we
have
identified
eight
veterans
who
are
currently
homeless
in
laredo.
I
also
serve
with
as
a
board
member
for
laredo
neighbor
works,
which
is
a
a
non-profit
organization
that
deals
with
homelessness
and
provides.
I
The
goal
is
to
have
transition
homeless
people
into
home
ownership,
and
we
have
identified
there
are
seven
other
veterans,
so
there
is
a
general
population
between
at
any
given
point
between
15
to
30
veterans
in
webb
county
that
are
currently
homeless
and
what
qualifies
them
the
fact
that
they
don't
have
a
roof
over
their
head.
That
is
the
primary
the
number
one
concern,
but
there
are
anywhere
anytime
on
any
given
day
in
laredo
and
webb
county
between
15
to
30,
homeless,
veterans,
right.
E
You
are
correct.
There
is
no
doubt
that
a
need
is
there
to
be
able
to
provide
homes
for
those
veterans
that
are
in
need.
So,
though,
there's
no
doubt
that's
underneath
of
this
particular
project,
we
just
need
that.
Is
they
we're
just
the
infant
stages
of
of
discussion
on
how
we're
going
to
help
our
veterans
and.
F
What
I
just
heard
what
I
can
say,
though,
before
you
go
ahead
quijano
is
these
homes
are
paid
for
they're
built
they
are
going
to
be
donated
to
our
organization
to
to
our
city.
I.
E
It's
something
that's
long
long
time
coming
and
it
took
this
time
this
type
of
effort
to
be
able
to
bring
it
to
the
forefront
and-
and
hopefully
we
can-
we
can
help
these
these
warriors
that
actually
need
our
help.
Yes,
sir.
Thank
you.
Yes,
sir.
J
Good
morning,
chair
concrete
coptic
counter
for
the
record
just
to
let
you
know
about
these
homes.
If,
if
we
could
extend
our
invitation
because
it
was
a
meeting
we
had
with
tamiu
in
the
past,
the
vfw
has
worked
with
10u.
J
I
don't
know
if
you
knew
last
no
last
year
we
were
able
to
do
a
connex
shipping
container,
transform
it
into
a
house,
and
we
gave
it
to
a
veteran
now
we're
doing
the
same
thing
with
tamiu
this
year
we
have
a
little
committee
going
on,
you
know,
brainstorming
and
if
the
city
and
tamiu
and
the
veterans
can
come
together
and
and
do
this
as
as
a
group
that
will
be
even
more,
you
know
better
for
the
community
and
everybody
get
more
people
involved
in
it.
E
No
doubt
about
that,
and
the
connect
concept
is
also
something
that
I
think
is
now
has
a
a
motel
or
a
hotel
made
out
of
comics
yes,
so
it
is
a
an
idea
that
that
is
very
workable,
but
what
we
need
to
do
is
be
able
to
work
all
the
all
the
segments,
all
the
organizations
and
put
it
into
one.
E
The
one
thing
that
we
don't
want
to
do
is
have
three
different
organizations
trying
to
do
the
same
job,
because
it's
not
going
to
get
done,
except
we've
known
that
from
the
past
in
many
different
ways.
So
we
have
two
different
ideas
here:
that
we
need
to
merge
together
exactly
and
try
to
work
together
with
the
city
so
that
we
can
find
the
land
and
all
the
amenities
that
we
need
to
be
able
to
make
this
project
work.
E
Yes,
and
it
was
one
thing
to
bring
your
project
forward
on
any
entity,
but
once
you
bring
the
project
forward,
then
we
need
to
think
about
those
other
causes
not
only
about
the
the
home.
It's
we
have
to
have
the
utilities.
You
know,
there's
there's
a
lot
of
planning.
That
needs
to
be
done,
ideas
can
come
and
and-
and
they
say
you
know-
you
can
have
this
this
home,
but
then
it's
not
only
the
home.
E
We
have
to
find
land,
we
have
to
find
all
the
utilities
and
other
things,
so
it
becomes
us
to
be
able
to
work
together
instead
of
having
two
or
three
different
groups
working
on
the
same
project
all
in
one.
Hopefully
we
think
we
can
get
that
done.
I
believe
we
have
the
group
here
right
now
that
can
I
can
get
it
done
with
the
help
of
the
city.
You
got
that.
E
K
How
many
homes
are,
are
we
talking
about
more
or
less,
and
do
you
have
like
a
more
or
less
an
estimate
of
land
need.
K
F
K
Is
there
do
they
have
like
a
recommended
square
foot
acreage
or.
F
Yes,
the
parameters
have
to
dictate
that
the
homes
have
to
be
a
certain
distance
from
each
other
due
to
zoning
issues,
and
you
know
just
a
a
variety
of
other
city
issues.
So
again,
I
I
I'm
proposing
this
project,
but
this
is
just
a
bare
bones
idea.
Right
now,
we
we
have
gone
a
little
further
by
having
these
donated
already,
so
they
are
ours.
They
are
the
city
of
laredo's.
They
are
our
organizations.
F
E
K
The
reason
I'm
asking
is
so
that
way
I
know,
councilmember
torres
is
going
to
put
it
on
the
agenda
and
I'll
co-sponsor
it,
but
so
that
we
can
start
looking
at
land
that
would
be
needed.
So
I
think
we
can
get
us
an
estimate
on
acreage,
so
we
can
kind
of
have
an
idea
of
what
we're
looking
for.
We
can
maybe
look
for
a
donation
or
see
if
we
have
anything
absolutely.
F
And
we
are
actually
we
have
the
director
of
that
organization
attending
our
vfw
meeting
tonight.
Seven
o'clock
anyone's
welcome
to
attend.
Please
you
know
we
would
love
to
have
this.
E
That's
something
that
maybe
he
can
be
here
for
the
next
city
council
meeting,
so
that
the
whole
council
can
listen
to
and
ask
those
questions
that
are
very
important.
So
that
might
be
something
that
that
would
that
we
need
to
do
to
be
able
to
approach
the
council
and
brief
on
that.
Yes,
sir
lopez,
yes,
mr
chairman,.
I
Thank
you
for
the
information
of
miss
pettis.
I
We
don't
have
to
reinvent
the
wheel
on
this
project
about
six
years
ago,
there
was
a
proposed
made
by
the
county
to
create
a
village,
a
homeless
village
here
west
of
florida,
and
it
was
going
to
be
constructed
by
the
army
corps
of
engineers,
so
the
plans
are
already
out
there.
They
had
the
same
concert
after
as
the
tiny
homes,
but
it
was
just
never
got
off
the
ground,
but
all
the
models
are
there,
including
the
wrap
around
services
that
we
need.
I
We
cannot
just
put
a
homeless
veteran
in
a
home
and
expect
him
to
to
outgrow
his
problems.
We
have
to
provide
ptsd
services,
we
had
to
provide
employment
services,
we
had
to
provide
transportation
services
as
well
as
health
services,
but
the
plan
is
already
there.
It
was
proposed
to
the
county
six.
Seven
years
ago
I
was
there.
We
looked
at
of
the
blueprints.
Everything
was
there
with
the
same
concept
as
the
tiny
homes.
I
So
if
we
can
get
with
mr
garza,
maybe
he
could
bring
those
items
back
because
the
plans
were
already
proposed
and
it
was
a
wonderful
project
that
I
just
never
took
off
the
ground.
E
Thank
you
and
that's
what
I
meant
earlier
about
organizational
having
to
to
do
something
like
it,
but
it
never
came
to
tradition.
So
we
need
to
be
able
to
work.
Excuse
me
work
as
a
group.
Now
we
have
11
different
organizations,
and
that
says
a
lot
when
you
have
one
working
one
one
group
trying
to
do
a
project
and
it
wasn't
done
yeah
you're
right,
I
mean
there
was
plans
with
that,
but
it
it
didn't
happen.
E
Now
we
have
an
opportunity
to
make
it
happen,
because
we
have
two
or
three
different
groups
now
that
have
plans
that
we
can
put
it
all
together,
have
two
different
governmental
entities
and
maybe
go
out
and
get
some
more
help,
because
there
is
a
need
for
this.
There
is
no
question
about
that.
There
is
no
question.
There
is
a
need.
There
is
a
lot
of
homeless
veterans
throughout
the
united
states,
but
we
need
to
take
care
of
our
own
backyard
right
now.
Mr.
M
Mr
bella,
chairman
david
garza
for
the
record
with
county
veterans
service
officer,
as
I
it
was,
the
the
village
that
was
going
to
be
constructed
with
the
assistance
of
the
army
corps
of
engineers
was,
I
believe
it
was
on
benitez
road,
something
somewhere
out
there.
M
But
more
importantly,
one
of
the
things
that
mr
lopez
brought
up
and
I
think
the
concern
of
some
of
our
other
veterans
here
is
they're
they're
correct.
We
need
to
kind
of
help
with
the
mental
health
issues
that
come
along
and
any
substance
abuse
there.
M
If
I
remember
correctly,
there
is
a
village
that
is
extremely
successful
out
in
san
diego
california,
if
I
remember
that's
the
location
of
it,
and
maybe
we
can
model
something
like
that
for
to
bring
that
up
to
council
no
need
to
whatever
they
have
or,
however,
they
built
their
model.
M
E
And
and
that's
what
I
meant
about
any
project,
the
state
can
come
out
here
or
any
other
government
or
the
federal
people
can
come
out
here
and
say
we'll
give
you
this
much
money,
so
you
can
build
whatever
it
is,
but
they
don't
talk
about
the
residual
cost
that
comes
with
that
project.
There's
always
extra
costs
that
we
need
to
think
about
things
that
we've
been
talking
about.
The
mental
health,
transportation
utilities
there's
always
more
cost.
E
It's
not
just
the
initial
cost
that
you
have
and
that's
why
a
lot
of
projects
are
not
completed
because
you
get
some
help
from
somebody,
but
they
don't
talk
about
the
residual.
What's
going
to
happen
next
year,
the
other
state
will
come
out
here
and
prevent
the
county
with
10
million
dollars
to
to
build
a
park.
L
E
Going
to
pay
for
the
employees
we're
going
to
pay
utilities.
Those
kind
of
residual
costs
is
something
that
we
need
to
take
into
consideration.
Also,
that's
why
these
projects
like
this
don't
come
to
completion
because
of
things
like
that.
We
now
have
the
opportunity
to
be
able
to
make
that
happen.
We
have
three
different
groups
here.
We
need
to
merge
it
together,
because
if
we
start
talking
separate
is
not
going
to
happen,
we've
known
that
it's
happened,
we've
seen
it
happen.
E
You
talk
about
one
right
now
that
happened
six
years
ago
and
never
was
completed
because
of
issues
like
this.
It's
going
to
be
up
to
us
as
a
committee
to
be
able
to
work
with
the
city
council
so
that
we
can
work
with
other
entities,
including
trying
to
get
some
grant
money
as
possible
to
be
able
to
get
this
completed,
but
we
welcome
all
the
input
that
all
of
you
have
put
into
it
now.
E
B
E
F
H
M
F
So,
gentlemen,
this
is
an
event,
we're
very
proud
of
we've,
co-sponsored
with
the
unitrade
stadium,
the
tecus,
to
be
able
to
provide
free
tickets
to
our
veterans,
our
military
family
here
in
laredo,
and
this
event
will
definitely
highlight
their
their
efforts
and
everything
they've
done.
I
I
told
everyone
I
meet
to
the
older
generation
and
gentlemen:
apologies,
but
yeah.
L
F
You
know
we
we
stand
on
the
shoulders
of
great
men
that
have
come
before
us
and
our
children
will
be
the
same
when
it
comes
time
for
us
to
stand
up
and
their
generation
as
well.
So
this
is
just
a
small
way
of
us
thanking
you
all
our
military
community
and
putting
on
a
great
event
with
the
tacos.
So
again,
we
appreciate
everything
you've
done
taking
that
oath
and
committing
to
something
most
people
don't
want
to
or
can't
hihano.
F
J
Good
morning,
again,
no
chairman,
good
morning,
this
started
off
in
with
the
veterans,
texas
veterans
network,
and
it
just
flourished
into
this,
and
with
the
with
david
garza,
with
webb
county
veterans
service
office,
and
what
we
did
is
we
need
a
veterans
resource
kovit
happened.
We
didn't
have
no
veterans
resource
last
year.
How
can
we
get
the
veterans,
the
knowledge
to
exactly
what
is
in
the
community?
What
is
there
to
help
them?
A
lot
of
veterans
go
and
they
pass
away
and
they
don't
have
dd214s
they're
trying
their
their
next
candle
is
trying
to.
J
You
know,
bury
them
with
honors
and
there's
no
dd214
teams.
You
know,
let's
get
that
veteran,
you
know
registered
benefits.
What
benefits
are
there?
What
benefits
are
there
for
their
surviving
spouses?
What
else
is
there
for
the
veterans,
texas
veterans,
commission
jobs,
grants
home
modification?
The
city
has
a
great
program
and
with
the
community
development
department,
modification
home
that
money
finished
by
march,
and
it's
going
to
restart
again
july
1st.
J
It
went
quick.
These
people
are
starting
to
know
exactly.
What's
out
there
financial
assistance
program,
there
was
another,
but
it
ended.
It
didn't
get
renewed.
Well,
you
know
these
programs
are
needed.
How
can
we
get
the
the
community
to
know
to
spread
the
word
for
that
veterans
resource
that
we're
going
to
have
october
26,
20
20
28
october
28th,
we're
gonna
have
that
what
better
way
to
announce
that
event
than
to
announce
it
at
the
techwize
game?
Two
years
ago
I
went
to
the
tacos
game
and
it
was
overcapacity.
J
It
was
like
8
000
people
there
and
we
got
all
kinds
of
walks
of
life
going
to
that.
Everybody
loves
the
tequilas,
so
the
entities
we
went
to
decos
spoke
to
general
manager
and
he
was
on
board
and
it
just
started.
We'll
start
attorney
start
attorney
and
we
had
donors,
the
vfw,
texas
dependence
network
and
there's
others
that
are
given
donating
money
to
tickets
for
veterans,
and
the
tacos
also
is
going
to
match
us
and
we're
going
to
auto
veterans
in
here
and
we're
going
to
announce
the
battery's
resource
at
the
tequila's
game
or
yes,.
H
M
If
you
move
the
flyer
a
little
bit
up,
if
they
can
put
it
back
up,
you,
you
see
the
so
the
the
sponsorship.
So
this
goes
to
exactly
what
you
were
saying
chairman,
which
is
working
together.
M
So
here
is
a
perfect
example
to
illustrate
what
you're,
what
you've
been
saying
chairman
when
you
work
together,
you
get
things
done
so
on
there.
If
you
notice
we're
working
together
with
the
decolotes,
the
bella
strong
hero
sports,
which
is
a
veterans
organization
that
takes
veterans
out
hunting.
I
believe
you've
met
the
gentleman
in
charge
down
here
in
laredo.
It's
a
new
program
out
here
for
us,
the
city
of
laredo.
M
We
went
ahead
and
I
emailed
mr
robert
eats
and
went
through
the
proper
channels
to
make
sure
we
can
they'll
sponsor
it,
and
the
city
is
actually
the
one
doing
the
major
fireworks
and
and
stuff
like
that.
My
office,
the
texas
veterans
network,
vfw
myself,
representing
the
county,
so
we
all
came
together
to
work
this
event
for
for
our
veterans
and
get
them
free
tickets
to
for
them
to
go
to
the
game.
It
is
an
outstanding
game.
It
starts
at
8
p.m.
M
More
importantly,
it
it'll
bring
unity,
it's
a
first
step,
I
believe,
or
one
of
the
steps
into
bringing
unity
into
all
veteran
organizations
and
all
veterans,
and
as
mr
salazar
is
saying
in
mr
quijano,
it's
really
a
kickoff
point
for
a
major
event
coming
october,
28th,
which
we
can
put
that
on
the
agenda
for
the
next
time
on
there,
the
the
any
veteran
that
wishes
to
call
there's
a
phone
number
on
the
flyer
that
dictates
where
they
would
call
they
pick
up
the
tickets
they're
going
to
be
reserved
tickets.
M
They
pick
up
the
tickets
at
it
might
be
preliminary
what
I'm
about
to
say,
but
I
think
they're
going
to
pick
them
up
at
the
va
clinic.
If
I
remember
correctly
so
my
two
cents
on
this
is
perfect.
It's
a
good
event,
a
good
illustration
of
what
can
be
accomplished,
working
together
and
being
organized
absolutely.
E
And
I'm
going
to
go
a
little
bit
out
of
script,
but
but
it
goes
with
what
everybody's
saying
right
now
about
working
together
and
mr
gonzalez
really
talked
about
the
va
clinic
earlier,
but
being
able
to
make
it
part
of
this
group.
Somehow,
while
it's
not
on
the
agenda,
I
think
it's
something
that
we
need
to
add
on
later
because,
as
you
know,
the
problems
that
we
had
with
the
va
clinic
in
the
past.
Back
in
the
90s
I
mean
it
was.
It
was
really
bad.
E
If
you
think
it's
bad
right
now,
we're
in
hawk
heaven
right
now,
but
the
the
reason
I
bring
this
up
is
because
what
we
need
to
be
able
to
have
better
care
is,
we
need
more
membership
in
the
va
clinic,
and
this
is
something
that
we
need
to
work
together
to
be
able
to
use
these
events
like
this
public
information
reaching
out
to
the
veterans
to
try
to
get
them
to
join
and
become
members
of
the
local
va.
E
and
if
we
don't
increase
our
numbers,
this
va
clinic
is
going
to
be
gone
like
we
had
before,
because
it's
not
they're
not
going
to
sustain
it,
and
we
need
to
be
able
to
use
this
type
of
events
to
be
able
to
have
some
kind
of
get
the
veterans
involved
so
that
they
can
have
somebody
out
there
to
enroll
them
right
there
and
there
we
don't
have
to
go
to
the
clinic
to
get
it
done.
That's
a.
M
Lot:
okay,
that's
what
the
start
to
interrupt
determine,
but
that
that's
the
main
resource
fair
is
to
do
that
with
the
project
coming
up
on
october.
28Th!
That's
to
do
exactly
that
to
let
them
know
so.
One
last
thing
on
there
that
I
forgot
to
mention
we're
gonna
go
start
sending
that
out,
I
believe
july
first
or
was
it
two
weeks
or.
F
Yesterday,
on
thursday,
we're
going
to
start
marketing
this
event
to
the
population
july,
1st
will
be
the
first
pickup
date
where
they
can
pick
up
their
tickets
if
they've
registered.
If
they've
caught
the
1800
number
listed
on
the
flyer,
for
whatever
reason
they
can't
pick
pick
it
up
the
date
of
july.
First,
they
can
pick
it
up
the
date
of
the
game,
I'll
be
out
there
on
both
dates,
handing
out
tickets
to
our
veterans-
and,
let
me
just
add
one
thing:
real
quick.
F
This
has
definitely
been
the
culmination
of
a
lot
of
work
by
a
lot
of
great
organizations,
particularly
I
want
to
shout
out
the
vsos
they've
been
instrumental
web
county
vsos
in
in
organizing
this
project
with
with
our
organization,
texas
veterans
network,
and
I
truly
appreciate
all
your
efforts
and
this
gentleman
both
mr
david
and
kehan
back
there.
So
thank
you
so
much
for
for
helping
us
well.
Thank.
E
M
Not
not
on
that
event
on
the
major
event
of
the
october
28th.
This
event
is
just
really
to
announce
promote
the
event
for
october
28th.
So
my
understanding
is
of
2018
was
the
last
and
I
might
be
wrong
on
the
day,
but
I
think
it
was
2018.
Maybe
2019
was
the
last
fourth
of
july
veteran
baseball
game.
That
was
sponsored
and
it
was
pretty
full.
There
was
a
lot
of
veterans
out
there.
M
I
wasn't
able
to
participate
that
day,
but
I
think
it's
a
perfect
opportunity
to
promote
the
major
event
coming
up,
but
at
the
end
of
the
day
the
end
goal
is
exactly
that
is
to
let
them
know
what
resources
we
have
to
include
the
va
clinic
to
our
local
veterans
within
the
within
our
parameters.
E
Absolutely
we
need
to
have
some
public
outreach
and
mr
gonzalez
and
I
had
a
meeting
with
hugo
martinez
and
some
other
people
from
harlingen
about
a
little
over
a
month
ago,
we
spoke
about
different
issues
specifically
about
this
issue,
about
being
able
to
increase
our
enrollment
and
not
having
to
go
just
to
that
location
there
to
be
able
to
get
endorsed.
These
type.
B
Say
some
is
there
a
way,
sir,
that
we
could
hold
registration
at
both
events
at
the
baseball
game
and
at
the
resource?
Because
because
some
people
may
go
to
the
game
that
may
not
go
to
the
october
28th
event,
so
we
could.
We
could
try
two
times
to
get
someone
to
register
instead
of
just
at
the
october
28th.
C
F
Absolutely
my
only
concern
is
that
we
have
limited
real
estate.
The
day
of
we
have
three
tables,
I
believe
already
that
will
be
tabling
at
the
event.
My
organization,
texas,
veteran
network,
web
county
bsos,
hero
sports,
and
we
can
definitely
address
it
with
the
the
manager.
I'm
sure
we
have
the
logistics.
M
I
I
think
we
can
definitely
make
the
attempt
to
reach
out
absolutely
and
we
have
reached
out
to
to
miss
cabello
the
my
corner
part
at
the
clinic,
and
she
allowed
us
to
pick
up
the
the
tickets
there
for
our
veterans
for
them
to
go
there
to
pick
it
up,
and
hopefully
the
veterans
they
might
have
not
been
registered
when
we,
when
they
go
to
pick
up
their
tickets
at
the
clinic
on
july.
First,
I
think
was
the
day
first
10
a.m
to
2
00.
M
D
Real
quick
I've
had
a
lot
of
friends
that
have
gone
to
the
veterans
club
to
the
va
clinic
and
they
have
been
refused
as
the
membership
in
there
or
you
know,
I'm
one
of
them.
That's.
D
D
You
you're
entitled
to
va
benefits,
okay,
you're
entitled
to
be
a
member
of
that
clinic,
and
the
only
way
that
these
numbers
are
going
to
be
are
going
to
go
up
is
by
removing
some
of
those
restrictions
that
they
have.
They
also
have
one
where,
if
you
only
serve
six
months,
but
then
you
serve,
you
know
the
rest
of
the
time
in
in.
D
And
so,
and
so
the
thing
is,
is
the
thing
is
that
somebody
has
to
come
out
without
without
with
new
you
know,
proposals
and
inviting
all
veterans
you
know
to
to
become
members
of
the
va
clinic
regardless
of
your
income.
I
mean
you
didn't
have
that
income
when
you
went
and
served,
you
know
you
made
it
after.
You
came
back.
So
a
lot
of
us
feel
that
you
know
that
everybody's
entitled
to
get
service
at
the
va
clinic
and
that's
the
only
way,
you're
going
to
get
the
numbers
up.
D
I
used
to
be
on
the
board
when
I
was
a
chairman
for
the
the
radio
veterans
coalition,
so
I
used
to
go
to
other
meetings
and
so
now
and
I'm
going
to
try
and
see
if
I
can
get
back
on
that
on
that
board.
Well,.
G
Thank
you,
mr
rosales.
Yeah.
You
know
about
that.
This
is
one
of
the
reasons
that
I
for
this
agenda,
for
the
to
have
the
the
the
issues
and
of
on
the
agenda
all
the
time,
issues
from
the
va
the
problems
or
concerns
that
we
have
from
the
va.
Let
me
give
you
an
example
of
what
I'm
talking
about.
G
A-M-N-I-O-T-I-C
any
injection
those
are
injections
for
pain.
I
used
to
be
when
I
was
younger.
I
used
to
be
a
heavy
weight
lifter.
Now,
I'm
paying
I'm
75
years
old.
Now,
I'm
paying
the
price
for
it
a
lot
of
surgeries
and
stuff,
but
for
pain.
I
got
injected
amniotic
injection
by
doctor
local
doctor
here
in
town
on
my
hip.
G
The
insurances
do
not
cover
that
injection
okay,
but
the
va
does,
and
if
I
was,
if
any
of
you
guys
that
are
not
veterans
and
got
that
injection,
you
that's
doctor
will
charge
you
500
okay,
but
since
I'm
a
veteran
the
va
paid
for
it.
G
I'm
going
to
bring
you
the
what
I
got
and
I
brought
it
to
him.
Nothing
has
happened.
This
is
the
reason.
A
lot
of
the
monies
that
are
projected
for
the
va
are
being
wasted.
We
have
doctors
that
are
abusing
abusing
of
the
system
and,
as
a
matter
of
fact,
one
of
my
nurses
there
on
my
team
at
the
va
clinic
she
had
both
of
his
knees
injected
with
amniotic
injection
twelve
thousand
on
each
knee,
and
then
mine
is
another.
Twelve
thousand
thirty.
Six
thousand
this
doctor
made
in
less
than
five
minutes.
G
That's
the
reason
we
need
to
bring
or
have
meetings
with
these
guys
talking
about
awareness
and
something
I
forgot
what
he
mentioned.
I
have
better.
We
need
to
have
and
be
aware
and
read
the
federal
regulation
for
healthcare.
Do
you
have
it
david
said
you
no.
M
Negative,
no,
I
don't,
because
that
has
to
do
with
health.
The
health
va
part
of
the
va.
I
work
for
the
vba,
the
benefit
part
of
the
va
well.
I
M
Those
regulations
they
should
have
them
within
I'm
assuming
within
the
health
system,
because
I
don't
work
for
the
health
system.
I
work
for
the
benefit
system
of
the
va,
so
those
should
be
sitting
in
harlingen
to
follow
their
procedures.
Just
like
mine
are
sitting
in
houston
because
I
have
to
follow.
This
is
just
assumption
that
I
hope
I
answered
the
question.
Well,
I
I
I.
G
Don't
know
they
have
them
or
not
anybody
who's
who's
in
a
job
to
providing
services
to
veterans
to
have
all
the
information.
That's
my
belief
that
would
be
you
know.
I
I
had
I
used
to
go
to
washington
dc
many
times
when
I
was
a
national
officer
for
for
lulac
and
we
go
to.
We
used
to
go
to
a
va
the
veterans
administration
over
there
and
they
will
provide
you
over
there,
but
we
need
people
like
you
in
positions
that
can
can
bring
them
those
information.
G
One
time
the
director
who
used
to
be
the
director.
I
forgot
his
name
about
six
years
about
six
years
ago.
It
was
not
kneeling
and
after
milligan
and
we
have
we
walked
in.
We
have
a
lot
of
hearing
problems,
so
we
were
a
lot
of
veterans
at
the
entrance
of
the
va
clinic
and
we
were
in
there
and
the
police
guy
comes
towards
us
and
he
says
you're
too
loud,
and
I
told
him
all
of
us
have
hearing
problems.
G
We
don't
even
know
that
we're
too
loud
and
this
guy
exaggerated
the
deal,
and
he
said
the
doctors
are
having
problems
hearing
their
patients.
You
know
exaggerated
and
I
said,
are
you
aware
of
the
ada,
the
the
american
disability
act
and
he
said
what
is
that?
So
he
didn't
know
that,
and
I
was
I
called
walton
and
walton
was
able
to
get
me
the
federal
federal
regulations
and
the
federal
regulations,
what
he
states
if
there's
a
place.
G
G
Concerns
we
need
to
bring
them
up
to
this
committee.
We
need
to
speak
to
these
guys
and
we
can
we're
gonna
have
by
the
way
we're
gonna
have
a
on
july.
The
12th
we're
gonna
have
a
a
a
town
hall
meeting
with
the
people,
the
administrators
from
from
it's
gonna,
be
the
ut
campus.
E
B
G
G
G
M
M
G
Re-Ask-
and
I
did
I
did-
ask
google
and-
and
they
couldn't
find
me
one
anything
you
see
you
know
I
understand
and
and
we
need
you
see,
we
need.
We
need
a
lot
of
that
information.
There's
another
one.
Another
concern
real,
quick
that
roque
went
through
that
they
they
have
a
sign
there
in
in
front
of
a
of
his
of
a
parking
space.
G
They
just
put
it
about
maybe
about
three
months
ago,
and
he
says
a
second
purple
heart
and
a
va
clinic
health
system.
Roque
is
a
purple
heart
popular
being
people
that
got
wounded
in
war,
so
he
parked
there,
but
he
he
has
the
letter.
The
number
two
second
purple
heart.
So
he
thinks
thinking.
But
maybe
you
need
to
have
two
purposes
in
order
for
me
to
park,
so
he
didn't
park.
G
Okay,
I
brought
it
up
to
hugo
and
he
said
well,
he
didn't
know
what
to
answer
and
then
he
calls
me
a
week
later
he
says
that's
an
award
that
was
given
to
us.
So
we
were.
I
don't
know
what
the
second
means,
and
he
could
not
explain
it
to
me.
But
my
problem
is:
if
this
is
an
award,
why
put
it
in
front
of
a
parking
space?
It's
just
speaking
much
concerns,
but
these
guys
can
do
not
do
the
job
you
see
put
it
somewhere
else.
You
know
move
it
from
there.
G
D
E
But
yeah
the
the
veterans
resource
events
so
we're
moving
on
to
the
next
item
on
the
agenda.
I
want
to
thank
all
of
you
for
participating
in
this
discussion,
so
it
got
a
little
bit
outside,
but
I
thought
it
was
important
for
all
of
you
to
hear
what
we
need
to
say
next
time.
The
agenda
is
item.
Number
four.
Is
that
veterans
events
to
be
free
from
political
activities?
I
Mr
chair,
I
brought
this
item
up
for
this
meetings
because
it
it's
pretty
self-explanatory
and
every
time
there
is
official
events
such
as
memorial
day
veterans
day
parade
patrons
day
women's
veterans
day,
there's
something
always
a
banner
that
is
on
the
way
of
the
event
either
somebody
who
is
running
for
office
or
somebody
who's
already
in
office
and
passing
out
flyers
putting
out
banners.
I
I
asked
the
mr
jimenez
and
there
is
apparently
they're
doing
the
research
there.
Apparently
there
is
something
well
we're
trying
to
find
out
if
there's
something
already
on
the
city
ordinances
that
will
prevent
this
from
happening,
and
if
there
is
something
that
is
already
established
and
voted
on
by
by
this
council
by
city
council,
then
that
needs
to
be
enforced.
I
That
needs
to
be
enforced.
It
needs
to
be
brought
up
the
attention,
because
you
know
we
cannot
have
a
a
true
veterans
event
and
it's
some
politicians
gonna
take
advantage
of
it
and
I
think
it's
I
think
it's
wrong
and
I
think
it
needs
to
stop
for.
Thank.
C
Too,
yes,
sir,
thank
you
for
the
record,
sir.
I've
been
in
charge
of
the
veterans
day
event
and
the
memorial
day
event
for
quite
some
time.
We
do
it
on
the
zero
budget.
There's
not
a
penny
that
the
city
pays
off
for
that
it
comes
out
of
the
pockets
of
american
legion
and
anybody
else
who
co-sponsors
the
event.
C
Our
standing
policy
is,
if
you're,
an
incumbent
elected
buying
for
the
people
you've
got
to
see.
If
you
you,
should
you
decide
to
participate,
we
don't
condone
any
veteran
activities.
If
that
happens,
it's
we're
not
aware
of
it
and
I'm
not
aware
of
it.
But
if
you're
there
to
to
to
promote
your
cause-
and
it's
not
in
line
with
whatever
the
city
says,
we'll
ask
you
to
leave
that's
simple,
but
if
you're
an
incumbent,
you
have
a
standing
up,
you
have
a
standing.
E
E
I
don't
know
that
that
there
is
such
a
a
ordinance
or
anything
like
that,
but
I
think
each
event,
coordinator
and
event
organizers,
have
the
the
right
to
be
able
to
dictate
who
and
how
that
event
is
being
run,
and-
and
that's
about
all
that
that
I
have
that
in
my
possession-
that
I
think
that
I
can
say.
However,
we
can,
we
can
obviously
look
into
it,
but
but
I
believe
every
event
is
being
run
by
the
event,
coordinators
and
organizers.
D
For
the
record
again,
I
have
one
request
for
for
events
such
as
the
wbca
okay,
with
the
exception
of
last
year,
the
radio
veterans
coalition,
along
with
other
organizations
of
military,
we
have
participated
at
the
wbca
events.
Okay,
the
problem
is
this:
that
some
of
us
get
numbers
way
over
the
200
180
we're
all
scattered
out.
Okay
in
many
cities
throughout
the
united
states
veterans
open
up
the
parade.
D
D
I
believe
the
the
the
numbering
is
done
in
san
antonio
and
at
one
time
I
got
gloria
ambrose
thanks
to
her,
we
were
number
two
hundred
and
something-
and
she
brought
us
down
to
under
a
hundred,
but
still,
like,
I
told
gloria,
said
gloria
a
lot
of
us
that
participate
on
these
events.
For
example,
at
that
time
we
used
to
have
a
couple
of
world
war
ii
veterans.
You
know
in
their
late
80s
early
90s
right
now.
D
We've
got
korean
war
veterans
in
their
90s,
we've
got
vietnam
veterans,
they're
all
70
and
over,
and
then
we've
got
the
afghanistan
all
this
all
these
other
memberships.
Okay.
Now
I
would
like
to
propose
that
maybe
the
city
and
the
county
can
get
together
and
talk
to
them
to
the
officials
at
the
wbca
and
see
if
they
can.
D
You
know,
get
us
an
early
number,
so
we
can
one
time
we
had
to
treat
one
of
the
veterans
with
a
heat
exhaustion,
because
we
were
out
there
three
hours
in
the
sun
and
he
got
sick.
So
we
have
to
you
know,
get
him
out
of
the
parade.
D
It's
too
long
of
a
wait
for
many
of
us
veterans
out
there
in
the
sun
as
they,
and
I
propose
that
maybe
the
city
and
the
county
can
do
something
about
this
and
either
get
the
veterans
in
front
of
the
parade
and
get
them
out
of
there
or
right
behind
the
the
you
know
all
the
city
officials
and
I
wish
some
somebody
would
do
something
about
that
and
that.
E
Goes
to
what
what
I
just
said
about
its
organization,
event,
organizers
and
and
coordinators-
are
dictate
how
those
things
happen.
However,
we
as
a
group
and
that's
what
the
advantage
that
we
have
now,
because
we
have
11
different
organizations,
veteran
organizations
representing
this
committee.
We
can.
We
can
advise
the
governmental
data
entities
like
the
city
and
the
county,
to
communicate
with
the
different
event
organizers
to
be
able
to
take
care
of
some
of
these
projects.
D
Exactly
and
it
would
be
nice
if
we
could,
you
know
honor
our
whatever
is
left
of
our
world
war
ii
veterans,
our
career
veterans,
followed
by
the
vietnam
veterans,
but
have
all
the
organizations
together.
You
know
not
one
here
and
then
one
two
two
blocks
away
and
then
another
one
two
blocks
away.
We
need
to
get
all
the
veteran
organizations
you
know
in
the
different
wars,
all
together.
E
Well,
one
of
the
things
that
we
need
to
think
about
thanks
to
the
the
iraq
and
afghanistan
veterans.
Now
we
have
become
as
veterans
and
warriors
relevant
we
weren't
before,
but
you
and
I
were
in
vietnam.
We
came
back.
We
were
nobodies
right,
our
sons
and
daughters
vindicated
us
for
that,
and
so
we
have
them
to
thank
with
all
the
sacrifice
that
they
did
to
be
able
to
bring
the
military
services
of
our
veterans
to
the
forefront
and
I
believe
that's
happening.
That's
why
that's?
Why
we're
here
now?
E
M
Chairman,
so
I'd
like
to
say
something
that
mr
savoia
said
or
emphasize
something
that
he
said
is
you
know
the
w?
The
parade
is
done.
If
I'm
not
mistaken,
it's
through
the
wbca
yeah
right
right.
So
maybe
maybe
this
well.
Actually,
I'm
not
going
to
say.
Maybe
I
believe
this
organization
is
built
for
stuff
like
this,
this
committee,
so
I
would
say,
let's
putting
on
the
next
agenda
and
to
specifically
go
speak
to
them.
We
send
one
representative,
whoever
the
committee
vote
or
the
chairman.
M
Maybe
he
meant
mr
jimenez
with
representing
the
city
myself
representing
the
county,
or
maybe
a
city
councilman
or
a
commissioner
and
whoever
this
committee
sends
to
talk
to
them
and
let
them
know
what
our
concerns
are.
Mr
segovia,
and
at
that
point
you
know
they're
we're
literally
talking
to
them.
We
don't
have
a
whole
bunch
of
people
or
just
one
group
saying
this
or
that
it's
our
committee
that
this
city
built
for
us
to
voice
such
things.
So
I
I
believe
we
should
put
it
on
the
next
agenda.
M
D
I
respect
and
I
respect
and
honor
the
fact
that
our
dignitaries
of
the
city,
you
know
and
then
what
george
washington
and
martha
washington
you
know
and
all
the
debutants
you
know
they
go
through
a
lot
of
expensive.
You
know.
But
again
you
know,
I
feel
that
we
should
either
be
right
behind
them
or
in
front
of
them
and
get
us
out
of
the
way,
because
we
all
want
to
participate
right.
D
M
E
E
We
also
need
to
remember
also
that
we're
an
extension
of
the
of
the
city
of
la
redo,
the
city
council,
and
we
would
probably
carry
more,
not
probably
will
carry
more
weight
if
we
make
it
as
a
part
of
a
resolution
or
a
recommendation
to
a
city
council.
The
city
council
carries
this
message
to
wpca
because
it
carries
a
it's
got,
a
bigger
stick!
It's
just
that
simple.
D
This
community
and
what
we've
done
in
our
past
parades
we
either
get
together
with
korean
war
veterans
or
they
get
together
with
us.
Whoever
has
the
lowest
number,
you
know
and
we
do
a
let's
say:
84a
84b,
you
know
so
that
we
can
be
together
and
stay
and
at
least
join
two
organizations,
but
it'd
be
nice
like
to
david
or
or
the
committee
that,
if
all
veterans
will
come
out
together,
absolutely
yeah.
E
Right
that
can
work
out.
Yes,
sir.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
Excuse
me,
okay,
talking
about
being
there
talking
about
being
our
first
organizational
meeting
the
next
agenda
is
we
need
to
talk
about
future
meetings.
When
are
we
going
to
meet
how
often
what
time
the
location
there's
something
that
you
need
to
start
thinking
about
right
now?
Hopefully
we
can.
We
can
get
it
done
today,
so
that
we
can
have
an
established
time
date
and
location
where
we
can
meet.
E
B
E
D
Have
one
idea,
as
many
organizations
have
their
meetings
on
a
particular
day
of
a
particular
week
you
know
so
let's
say
we
can
choose
depending
on
everybody's
vote,
let's
say
the
first
tuesday
of
every
month
at
10
o'clock
or
the
second
tuesday
of
every
month
at
10
o'clock
or
the
center.
You
know,
let's
pick
one
day
out
of
the
month
and
one
day
out
of
the
week
at
10
o'clock,
or
I
believe
that
most
of
us
here
are
independent.
You
know,
as
far
as.
D
And
so
why
don't
you
take
a
couple
of
a
few
moments
to
talk.
E
H
It's
check
the
calendar
yeah,
I
just
I'm
sorry
for
the
interruption,
but
just
to
point
over,
I
need
to
check
the
calendar
because
the
chamber
is
used
by
several
committees
and
they
made
already
established
meeting
days.
So
let
me
see
if
I
can
get
the
calendar
right
now
and
I'll
come
back
with
the
available
days
that
are
always
okay.
E
E
B
E
M
B
Could
give
you
an
example
for
this
meeting
today?
I
it
had
to
be
posted
on
friday
before
the
end
of
the
day,
so
I
I
had
it
early
friday
that
way,
there's
any
kinks
in
it.
They
could
be
worked
out
so
just
like
today
like
like.
If
we
have
meetings
on
wednesday,
let's
say
in
the
future,
we
have
wednesday.
I
would
like
it
early
friday.
L
B
E
J
Mr
chair,
a
concern
with-
and
this
is
going
out
to
mr
jimenez-
yes,
sir,
on
agenda
items:
yes,
sir,
for
future
reference
and
mr
chair
for
the
future.
J
If
someone
brings
up
an
agenda,
it
must
be
have
some
kind
of
protocol
or
some
bylaw,
a
bylaw
in
there
that
like
for,
for
example,
mr
the
vfw,
we're
gonna
have
our
meeting.
It's
always
at
the
last
wednesday
of
the
month.
We're
gonna
move
it
up
today
for
today,
because
of
the
july
4th
event,
the
member,
it's
all,
organizations
are
member-driven
and
the
members
are
supposed
to
have
those
concerns,
and
the
commanders
they're
representative
of
that
organization.
J
So
therefore
have
the
minutes.
The
agenda,
the
minutes
with
the
agenda
item
be
given
to
liaison
mr
jimenez
my
understand,
because
if
there's
organizations
that
do
not
have
meetings,
are
they
speaking
for
the
members
or
are
they
bringing
the
agenda
item
for
themselves?
This.
E
E
So
we
have
to
assume
that
whatever
you
say
is
coming
through
the
wishes
of
your
organization,
and
if
you
want
to
make
it
more
more
powerful
than
in
the
form
of
resolution,
we
are
working
on
a
resolution
in
the
organization
that
I
am
a
member
of
a
resolution
to
be
able
to
present
to
this
committee
and,
and
we
be
able
to
to
show
that
it's
100
approved
by
that
organization.
If
you
feel
that
that's
what
you
need
to
do,
then
I
would
encourage
you
to
do
that.
Yes,.
J
Yes,
mr
peace,
I
mean
you
said
the
word,
it's
stuck,
I
mean
in
plain
red
flag.
You
said
the
word
assume,
because
when
someone's
assumes
that's
where
everything.
J
And,
like
I
said
organization
is
here
and
that's
something
something
that
I
you
know
I
have
to
use
we're
coming
here,
we're
coming
here
as
representatives
of
our
members,
not
individuals
exactly
and
that's
what
this
committee
has
to
take
consideration
and
have
at
least
mr
jimenez
know
that,
yes,
it
is
the
representatives
that
stood
there.
That's
all.
I
have.
E
J
Commissioners,
standards.
B
J
E
K
E
K
Thank
you,
so
just
a
point
on
that.
You
know
for
the
texas
open
meetings
act.
If
it's
not
on
the
agenda,
just
we
would
refrain
from
from
discussing
it,
but
we
could
put
it
on
for
the
following
agenda.
Mr
vaughn,
let's
just
go
back
with
me
via
text
about
the
calendar
and
he
did
state
that
the
second
tuesday
of
the
month
is
available
at
10,
11
or
12,
and
also
the
second
friday
same
times.
So
the
committee
can
consider
at
this
time,
if
you'd,
like
mr
chairman,.
E
I
will
entertain
a
motion
to
set
the
time
and
date
for
our
meeting
is
that
every
week.
I
L
E
C
H
C
E
Being
on
the
second
on
tuesday,
then
the
item
needs
to
be
posted
or
submitted
to
mr
jimenez
by
thursday,
prior
thursday,
okay,
five
o'clock-
if
you
don't
get
it
there
by,
then
your
item
is
not
going
to
be
in
the
agenda
and
we
will
be
following
protocols
today.
We
were
a
little
next
because
it
was
an
organizational
meeting,
the
first
meeting,
but
we
will.
We
will
be
following
the
the
protocols
in
place
whatever
it
is.
Robert
russo
orders,
whatever
addition,
but
we
will
be
able
to
take
care
of
business
one
way
or
the
other.
E
This
is
not
something
that
that
we
are
going
to
be
very
strict
on
not
being
able
to
say
what
we
need
to
say
because
it
is.
We
are
representative
representing
the
the
veterans
and
we
need
to
be
able
to
take
care
of
business
and
I'm
not
going
to
allow
not
taking
care
of
business
because
of
the
technicality
that
can
be
skirted
around
if
possible.
But
if
we
can't
then
we're
going
to
follow
the
rules,
and
this
will
will
make
it
at
least
we'll
hear
you
so
we
can
put
in
the
agenda
for
the
next
week.
E
K
We
end
yes,
okay,
so
just
as
the
mass
transit
representative
for
the
mpo,
I
don't
know
if
all
of
the
veterans
are
aware,
but
there
are
transit
benefits
available
through
the
department
of
veteran
affairs.
So
I
don't.
We
do
have
all
rn
metro
and
we
do
have
according
to
the
rules
here.
It
says
that
you
all
are
eligible
for
100
up
to
125
dollars
in
mass
transit
subsidies
and
our
monthly
pass
is
120
and
it's
unlimited.
So
I
just
wanted
to
put
that
out
there
for.
I
K
All
the
veterans
that
you
know
we
do
have
our
monthly
unlimited
pass.
It's
120
and
you
know
you
all
are
eligible
for
up
to
125
dollars
for
mass
transit.
So
that's
something
to
consider
and
with
our
mass
transit.
You
also
are
eligible
for
the
lift
program.
If
you
need
it
and
if
you
qualify,
so
that
might
be
something
to
consider
for
for
our
veterans.
K
Also,
this
sunday
we
are
going
to
have
free
free
fare
for
everyone,
and
so
hopefully
you
know
you
all
can
join
us
in
in
that
effort
to
promote
mass
transit
and
we'd
love
to
see
our
veterans
using
our
metro
on
sunday
it's
going
to
be
free
for
everybody
across
the
city,
and
so
that's
one
announcement
another
one
about
the
wbca.
K
And
then,
lastly,
this
might
be
a
controversial
comment,
but
I
noticed
that
that
there
aren't
any
female
women
veteran
groups
and
so
hopefully
for
next
agenda
we
could
maybe
consider
including
at
least
one
women
veteran
group
into
the
organization.
I
know
we
have
some
amazing
women
veterans.
J
K
J
M
There
used
to
be
councilwoman
a
a
veterans
group
for
just
women.
It
would
work
great
for
about
a
year,
the
female
veteran
that
was
sponsoring
it.
They
had
their
meetings
at
lc,
moved
out
of
town
moved
to
a
different
state
actually,
but
you're
right.
We
are
missing
that
organizational
group
or
that
represented
representative.
M
Maybe
we
can
brainstorm
something
I
I
wish
they
would
bring
it
back,
but
it
would
have
to
be
led
by
a
female.
E
Become
I
remember
giving
a
speech
when
I
was
a
member
of
liz
in
the
80s
talking
about
women
would
be
in
the
combat
role,
pretty
quick
and
it
happened
with
with
iraq
and
and
afghanistan.
E
We
do
have
some
women
in
the
organization
that
I
belong
to
and
actually
judy
razan
was
going
to
be
the
member
here,
but
she
is
the
district
director
for
lulac
from
from
our
council,
and
so
she
appointed
me
you
know
so
so
we
do
have
women
in
our
organization,
some
of
the
other
military
organizations.
It's
not
that
they
don't
allow
women
is
that
we
didn't
have
that
many
women
veterans
back.
Then
there
were
mostly
nurses
in
in
our
time
in
vietnam.
E
K
I
was
just
gonna,
mr
chairman,
if
I
can
say
that
if
there
was
interest
in
having
an
all-female
veteran
group,
I
would
just
I
would
like
to
put
on
the
agenda
for
maybe
at
that
point.
If
there
was
to
consider
you
know
being
included
in
one
of
the
lists
and.
B
M
M
We
do
need
that
represent
and
there
was
one
in
the
and
it
was
thriving
just
like
I
said,
unfortunately,
or
not,
unfortunately,
because
the
young
lady
got
married
and
they
moved
out
of
state
with
her
husband
and
family,
but
I
will
reach
out
to
some
and
female
veterans
and
see
if
they
want
to
get
together
and
make
a
group
organization
and
come
join.
Us
they'll
have
to
speak
to
mr
jimenez
on
on
the
mayor.
E
Absolutely
we're
not
in
all
male
clubs.
No,
no,
no,
absolutely
kevin
said
that,
and
and
seen
that
I
would
like
to
see
a
on
the
agenda
on
a
permanent
basis
to
have
the
last
item.
To
have
the
item
say
for
the
good
and
veteran
betterment
of
our
veterans
and
that
will
open
it
will
have
an
item
that
will
open
up
to
be
able
to
have
comments
like
richo's
made.
E
That
would
be
for
the
good
environment
of
our
of
our
veterans
and
and
we'll
be
within
the
protocols
that
we
have
and
follow
the
open
acts
meeting,
and
all
of
that
you
know
by
having
that
item,
it's
pretty
wide,
pretty
much
wide
open.
If
it's
for
the
for
the
betterment
of
the
veterans,
I
like
it
like.
E
C
E
D
One
final
word:
I
think
this
has
been
an
excellent
meeting
get
together
and
I
think
vanessa
deserves
a
a
big
approach.
