trail

project
right

cost

walking
trail
is
also
planned
already.

I
told
him
that
I
needed
to
find
out
before
they
start
anything,
so
we
can
dedicate
27
trees
throughout

walking
trail,

he
would
call
me
so

could
actually
walk
it
and
they
mark
off.

plant
those

trees
for
the

Laredo

never
came

Vietnam,

North
Central
Park
walking
trail

can

idea

bridge

the
men

women

that
served
in
Vietnam
during
the
Vietnam
War.
The
British
is
located

Independence
Hill
Park
and
there's
also
a
walking
trail
there
that
we're
going
to
dedicate
to
the
veterans
and
I'm
still
working
with
councilman
Rodriguez
to
see
what
we
want
to
be.

far
as
any
comments

public
I've
been
getting
calls
you
know
as
to.
When
are
we
going
to
have
the
Veterans
Museum?
When
are
we
going

average
Museum

say
well,
I've
got
another
projects
going
right
now
and
I
said
I'm
not
involved
in
that,
but
they
they've
suggested
that
the
Conseco
home
as
a
as
a
possible
area
for
the
museum.

lawsuit,
I
guess
a
ba
for
that
particular
purpose.
It
was
hurt
at
the
Supreme
Court
last
week
and
the
Supreme
Court
uphills
his
lawsuit.
Where
now,
if
you
file
for
a
disability
compensation
on
that
and
it's
approved,
you
will
get
back
paid
to
a
date
that
the
incident
happened,
not
when
you
file
in
a
field
or
on
that
particular
day.

So
it's
it's
a
big
win-win
for
veterans
that
been
struggling
to
be
able
to
get
first
of
all,
get
it
approved
and
then
because
the
the
injury
that
you
suffer
back
then
might
not
have
been
as
bad
as
it
was,
but
with
time
it
just
deteriorated
and-
and
you
were
actually
not
being
approved
so
just
so,
you
can
pass
on
to
your
prospective
organizations.
Is
that
that
Supreme
Court
ruling
in
fact
came
in
favor
of
the
veterans
where
you
filed
for
a
disability
compensation.

They
will
revert
back
to
the
date
of
the
incident,
not
the
date
that
you
filed,
so
that's
a
great
use
for
for
the
veterans,
especially
the
Young
Warriors,
that
we
have
now
coming
in.
Unfortunately,
some
of
us
were
not
able
to
capitalize
on
that
decision,
but
still
it's
organizations
like
this
one
that
we
have
now
that
is,
and
throughout
the
you
know,
the
the
bsos
that
we
have
and
things
like
that
or
making
the
quality
of
life
of
veterans
are
not
better
nowadays.

all

organizations

the

they

to,

the
children
can
get
the
treatment.

even
though
this

VFW,

reality

lot

VFW
members
are
members

different

of
the
olders
probably
remember
where
this
veteran
was
attending
a
political
function
with
about
600
people
and
MPS,
came
and
arrested
him
and
put
him
to
jail
and
he
was
charged
for
dessert
from
Vietnam
and
if
he
hadn't
been
because
he
had
filed
a
td-2-14s
with
the
county
clerk's
office.
Who
knows
what
would
happen
that
better
happened
to
be
me,
however?

I
didn't
have
my
my
actual
DD214,
but
the
fact
that
I've
been
filed
the
attorneys
readily
because
they
took
me
all
the
way
to
Oklahoma
and
was
in
jail
for
five
days
by
the
big
lawsuit
and
change
words.
Personnel
policies
and
directors
were
changed,
but
it
is
important
and
it
is
a
very
important
that
that
we
do
have
all
the
veterans.

Besides
the
fact
that
we
need
to
show
numbers-
because
that's
the
biggest
thing
we
also
be
talking
about
or
speaking
about
getting
more
veterans
signed
up
with
the
local
VA
Health
Clinic,
because
the
numbers
speak
for
themselves.
If
we
can
show
numbers,
then
the
money
will
come
in
a
little
bit
better
in
formal
grants
and
and
maybe
more
doctors
that
we
surely
need
right
now,
yes,
ma'am.

other
ones
are
useful
for
Benefit
Service
members
who
are
useful
for
benefits
and
whatnot,
but
when
they
do
file
to
the
county,
just

that
veterans
know
the
service
number

at

bottom

the

the
office
space

civilian

meetings

Laredo
veterans
alive.
We
were
talking
about
veterans
issues,
homelessness
came
up,
I
forgot,
who
brought
it
up,
but
one
of
my
Committee,
Member
or
advisors.

a
phone
call
in
my
meeting
and
said:
hey
I
have
a
person
I
want
you
all
to
talk
to.
It
was
a
password

He

so
enamored
with
what
we
were
doing
down

he

going

give
you
all
homes,
I'm

tiny
homes,

veterans.

the
members
decided
you

we
can't
do
this,
but
what
we

do
is
provide
a
sponsorship
for
a
home
for
one
veteran
and
we
have
that
they've
done
that

we're
very
fortunate
for
that
now.

result,
a
another
organization
spawned
off
from
this
last
year
called
Genesis
light
and
we
have
been
for
a
year
and
a
half.

it

back
to
our
ethers
and

refer

my

because

doesn't

me
to
remember
or
retain
things
in

why
do
we
start
this?
Our
ethos

models?
What
were
our
ethics?
What

our
pillar

military?

leave

man
or
woman
behind.

we
who
have
survived
the
war
we

have
successfully
transitioned
into
civilian
life.
We
owe
our
brothers

sisters.

commitment.

oath
to
not
only
protect

country,
but
each
other.

that's
why
we're
doing
this
so
we
can
take
care
of
each
other.

it's
a
big
undertaking,

we
are
up

the

close
to
getting
this

homes

Laredo

live

guess

are
the
roots

this
project.
But
we
have
about
between
60

100
homeless
veterans
in

our
city,

this

many
houses.

still

More
veterans
are

homeless,

we

need
the
help
from
all
organizations.

is
not

VFW

it
will
be
important
that
the

rest
of
the
veterans
organizations
get
involved,
but
at
the
same
time
we
understand
that
that
creates
other
issues

it's
something

need

concept

trying
to
find
homes
for
a
veteran
is
something
that's
been
going
on
for

years.

it's
what

know
building

army,

home,
it's
the
whole
package.
They
need
to
get
support
from
a
lot
of
the
you
know:
Mental
Health,
Medical,
Health
social
services
and
it's
a
whole
package
that
comes
in.
But
it's
your
group
that
actually
put
it
together.
That
is
now
is
gonna.

you
have
the
numbers
behind
you,
you
know
we
go
back
to
numbers,
and,
and
so
what
you're
saying
here
and
asking
the

be
able

get
more
advisories
into
into
your

group
is,

excellent
idea,

take

army
to

able

possibly
start
making
a
dent
on
this
problem

we

locally
