we
are

primarily
just
reassuring
the
work
have
been
performed

I
live
it
all
right
on
property
at
322,
east
3rd
street,
I'm
currently
remodeling
it.
So
I
can
move
back
in,
I'm
remodeling
it
as
time
and
money
allows
and
as
any
of
you
know,
that
sometimes
takes
longer
than
expected,
but
I'm
not
currently
living
at
that
address
and
during
the
super
cold
months
january
and
february,
and
I
turned
off
the
water
at
the
meter
and
opened
my
pipes
up
so
that
I
would
avoid
any
burst
pipes
since
I'm
not
staying
in
the
house.

want
to
heat
it
up
to
you,

degrees
or
75
degrees
or
whatever,
while
I
wasn't
staying
there,
so
I
turned
the
pipes
off
or
turned
the
pipes
on
and
the
water
off
and
went
about

business

drive
by
the
house
and
check
periodically
during
that
time.

believe
I
shut
the
water
off
at
the
meter
sometime
in
january.

february
I
missed
a
water
bill
and
I
caught
it
just
the
day
after
the
disconnect
date,
so
I
paid
it
online
and
and
didn't
think
much
of
it,
but
it
the
water
had
been
disconnected
and
then
reconnected.
The
next
day,
and,
of
course,
when
they
reconnected
it,
they
turned
the
water
back
on
and
I'm
sure
that
standard
procedure.

you
turn
the
water
on
you

But
I
didn't
realize
that
the
water
had
been
turned
back
on,
because
I
was
unaware
of
been
turned
off,
so
the
pipes
in
the
kitchen
and
the
bathroom
were
open
the
faucets,
so
the
water
began
running
at
that
point
in
february
and
then
at
some
point
in
february,
the
pipe
frozen
separated
under
the
kitchen
sink,
and
so
that
started
a
leak
that
I
did
not
discover
until
april
7th.
When
I
went
inside
to
check
the
house,
so
water
had
been
running,
you
know
all
over
my
kitchen,
dining
room
and
bathroom
floors
all
that
time.

Luckily,
you
know
that
the
water
wasn't
on
full
blast,
but
you
know
it
was
enough
to
do
a
lot
of
damage.
So
at
that
point
I
turned
the
water
back
off,
contacted
my
insurance
company
and
got
a
restoration
company
in
there.
They
had
to
tear
out
my
kitchen
and
all
my
cabinets,
touching
the
floor
and
everything
and
soaked
up
a
ton
of
water
so
that
I've
got
money
from
the
insurance
company
to
pay
for
that
repair.
But
then
I
opened
my
water
bill
and
realized.

I
I
don't
have
a
basement.
It
just
ran
to
the
ground
under
the
house
yeah,
so
they
had
to
tear
all
that
out
and
do
put
plastic
sheeting
up
and
some
drying
machines
because
they
needed
to
dry
all

sub
flooring
and
all
that
has
to
be
replaced
and
everything
they
had
to
see
what
they
could
dry
and
then
go
from
there
and
see
what
had
to
be
replaced.

After
all,
the
major
construction
has
been
completed
after
if
we
acquire
this
property
all
of
the
commercial
property
there
will
now
be
essentially
preserved
for
future
use,
as
as
recreational
or

outdoor
gateway
amenities,

parcel

ken
london
still
owns
at
the
corner
of
second
and
and
harrison
street.
So
this
is
a
good
opportunity
for
the
city
madison
to
continue
investing
in
its
gateway.

on
the
agenda
today

asking
the
board

approval
to
enter
into
this
purchase
and
sale
agreement
and
then
from
there
like
in
the
other
properties
that
we've
acquired
recently
we'll
perform
our
due
diligence
and

city
council

review
the
due
diligence
and
and
ratify
the
the
purchase
of
this
parcel.
So
we're
grateful

mr
kimman

state
acquired
that
now
they
did
acquire
part
of
this
property
all

way
up
to
the
corner

right

as

as
on

east
side

be
acquiring
is

a
vacant
building
but
you'll
see
in
the
future
due
diligence,
but
underground
storage
tanks
have
already
been
removed.

preserve
our
gateway

essentially
preclude

improving

regatta
parade

a
contract
with
lakota
group
from
chicago
to
update
our
local
district
survey.
We
pulled
out
an
rfp
at
the
beginning
of
april
and
received
six
submittals
on
theirs
being
one
of
them,
and
we
had
a
group,
two
staff
and
two
historic
board
members
review
all
of
the
submissions,
and
this
was
our
top
and
cheapest
option,
but
so
their
contract
amount.
It
will
take
them
about
seven
months
to
complete
all
the
survey
update
work.

also
to
just
see
what
the
condition
of
the
historic
properties
are
within
the
district,
and
I
know
that
historic
district
board
review
and
your
office
as
well
and
preservation
relies
a
lot
on
what
those
characteristics
are
of
the
property
contributing

lot
of
background
information
that
you're
able
to
share
with
property
owners
too,
about
property
about
the
property
when
it
was
built,
the
style
and
all
of
the
contributing
elements
of
the
property
that
that
are
important.

you're
looking
at
a
historic
district.

communities

about
every
five

ten

you

this
will

ability

we

we've
been
in
the
response
process
of
the
emergency
for

last
several
days
now,

moving
into

recovery
stages,

lot

step

finalize

very
comprehensive
damage
assessment.

preliminary
damage
assessment
reveals
about
72
properties
were
affected
by
the
flash
flooding
on
early
saturday
morning
june
18th
downtown
city,
downtown
madison,
on
northwest
street
in
that
area.
That
corridor
was
most
affected,
but
we
had
damage
from
the
flash
flood
in
the
city
limits
as
far
as
five
miles
away
and
then
also
in
jefferson
county.

We
have
one
bridge
that
is
undergoing
inspection
now,
which
is
the
milton
street
bridge.
It's
been
closed
since
early
saturday
morning
because
of
the
flash
flooding,
but
we
work.
We
are
working
on
that
and
there
will
be
a
lot
more
information
coming
out
in
the
next
couple
of
days
to
share
with
businesses
and
property
owners
about
how
to
assess
the
damage
and
report
that
damage
assessment
so
that
a
the
department,
homeland
security
for
indiana
can
evaluate
whether
or
not
the
damage
is
significant
enough
to
be
elevated
to
a
declaration
at
the
state
or
federal
level.
