Description
Minneapolis Health, Environment & Community Engagement Committee Meeting
B
Good
afternoon
I'm
going
to
call
to
order
this
meeting
of
the
health
environment
and
community
engagement
committee
I'm,
chair
of
the
committee
councilmember
Gordon,
I'm
joined
by
Vice,
Chair,
Andrew,
Johnson,
and
also
councilmembers,
bender
and
glidden.
We
may
be
joined
by
other
council
members
on
any
minute,
but
we
also
have
a
relatively
short
meeting
I'm.
So
we'll
see
we
have
three
consent
items
but
prior
to
taking
those
up,
I
would
like
to
look
at
our
public
hearing.
We
have
a
some
amendments
they
are
being
proposed.
B
Most
of
it
is
to
repeal
language
in
our
code
and
so
I'm,
going
to
before
opening
the
public
hearing
just
to
see.
If
we
could
get
a
brief
summary
it
would
anyone
like
to
make
a
brief
summary
I,
don't
know
if
miss
McIntosh
wanted
to
do
that
or
oh
okay,
very
good.
Just
just
let
us
know
briefly
what
this
is
all
about.
Welcome.
C
The
ordinance
we're
recommending
that
these
be
removed
because
they
are
antiquated
and
also
are
redundant
and
covered
under
the
mini
app
on
Minnesota
rules
governing
bread,
eggs
in
water
I,
chapter
192
breads
has
sections
that
include
ingredient
requirements,
sizes
envelopes,
marking
loaves
and
the
weight
requirements
under
194
eggs.
They
have
areas
of
sale
of
on
fit
eggs,
handling
of
eggs,
invoices
required
grading
them
eggs
and
the
advertisement
of
the
grade
under
196
water
for
drinking
and
domestic
purposes.
It
has
standards
of
purity,
materials
for
delivery,
containers,
cleansing
with
containers,
labeling
requirements
and
sanitary
requirements.
C
We
did
send
this
out
to
her
all
our
license
food
establishments
in
Minneapolis
and
did
not
receive
any
comment
on
it.
It
would
be
staffed
direction
that
we
delete
these
Minneapolis
specific
ordinances
and
that
they're
covered
under
the
Minnesota
food
code
and
adopted
by
reference
in
the
Minneapolis
code
of
ordinances,
186
point
to
burden
or
incomes
month
to
have
any
questions
or
concerns.
At
this
time,
I.
A
C
A
B
Thank
you
very
much,
I,
don't
see
any
other
comments
or
questions.
Mr.
quick,
thank
you
very
much
for
your
Airport
I'm,
going
to
then
open
the
public
hearing
I'll
check
with
the
clerk
and
make
sure
they
don't
want
to
signed
up.
Is
there
anyone
here
who
wish
to
speak?
I,
don't
see
any
new
faces
all
right,
then
I
will
close
the
public
hearing,
and
would
you
like
to
move
approval,
councilmember,
Johnson
I
would.
B
Good
well
I
just
want
to
thank
you
for
taking
the
time
to
look
at
this
and
I
think
it's
about
six
seven.
Maybe
eight
pages
will
be
deleting
from
our
code
of
ordinances
and
it
will
clean
it
up
a
little
and
make
it
easier
for
people
to
understand,
and
now
there
won't
be
people,
unknowingly,
I,
guess
violating
the
law,
any
other
comments
or
questions.
Seeing
none
then,
on
this
amendment
to
the
food
code,
although
say
I
in
favor,.
A
B
Opposed
that
motion
carries
thank
you
very
much
and
then
the
remaining
items
are
all
in
our
consent
agenda.
I
will
read
through
these
items
and
if
anyone
would
like
to
pull
anything
off
for
discussion,
please
feel
free
to.
Let
me
know
the
first
one
is
to
approve
the
city
council
appointment
of
Margaret
Reinhart
from
or
10
to
the
Minneapolis
Public
Health
Advisory
Committee
for
a
two
year
term
to
expire
December
31st.
B
The
second
item
is
to
authorize
an
increase
to
contract
with
the
community
action
in
Minneapolis
by
seventy
thousand
dollars
or
revised
contract
total
of
170
thousand
dollars
an
extension
of
the
contract
termination
date
to
December
31st
2015.
This
is
to
help
us
with
our
healthy
home
project
initiatives
and
the
be
part
of
that.
B
The
second
part
of
this
item
is
to
authorize
an
increase
to
the
contract,
with
project
for
pride
in
living
by
$80,000
for
a
revised
grand
total
of
four
hundred
and
eighty
thousand
dollars
an
extension
of
that
contract
to
june
thirtieth
2015
and
the
fourth
item
on
the
agenda,
which
is
our
third
consent
item,
is
to
receive
and
file
the
tree.
Stump.
Removal
on
private
property
report
from
the
neighborhood
and
community
relations
department.
C
B
This
is
simply
to
refer
to
staff,
the
subject
matter
of
an
ordinance
introduction
by
Andrew
Johnson
relating
to
animals
and
fowl
and
other
small
animals
repealing
requirements
for
written
consent.
So
on
all
four
of
those
consent
items
I,
don't
see
anything
anybody
wants
to
come
in
or
pull
off,
so
I
will
move
all
four
of
those
all
those
in
favor,
please
signify
by
saying
aye
any
opposed
those
items
all
pass
and
seeing
no
other
business
before
us.
This
meeting
is
adjourned.
