two
items
before
you
this
morning
are
the
recommendation
for
the
wage
or
salary
adjustments
for
the
non
represented
employees
and
also
the
appointed
employees.
I
use
them
as
two
separate
groups,
the
same
as
I
do
the
bargaining
units,
the
recommendations
both
fall
within
the
two
and
a
half
percent
total
wage
growth
calculations
for
at
the
financial
direction,
calculation
for
2014,
and
that
growth
includes
the
cost
of
the
step
progression.
So
we
back
out
the
cost
of
the
step
progression
before
we
allocate
the
funds.

If
we
were
to
look
at
our
non
represented
employees,
we're
talking
about
140
employees,
have
a
total
2013
costs
of
about
10
million
nine
hundred
and
thirty-two
thousand
dollars
and
we're
recommending
a
two
point.
Three
six
percent
increase
in
their
schedules:
effective
on
March,
the
first
of
2014
longevity
increase
of
two
point:
three
six
percent
would
be
effective
on
January,
the
first
of
2014.

we
were
to
look
at
our
appointed
employees-
and
this
includes
the
politically
appointed
employees-
that
we
are
talking
about-
150
employees-
with
a
total
costs
of
about
14
million,
seven
hundred
and
fourteen
thousand
dollars
again
looking
at
it
in
terms
of
the
cost
of
the
step
progression
included
in
the
two
and
a
half
percent
wage
growth
piece,
we
are
recommending
an
increase
of
2.5%
for
the
appointed
employees
effective
on
februari,
the
first
of
2014.
The
appointed
employees,
don't
have
any
longevity.

the
recommendation
is
for
a
two
point:
three
six
percent
increase
to
the
schedules
for
non
represented
employees,
two-point-five
percent
increase
for
appointed
employees
marks
the
first
in
February
the
first
respectively
and
