Description
Minneapolis City Council Meeting
A
Academy
teams
all
won
their
class,
and
so
it's
really
unusual
that
we
get
that
well.
But
I
think
it
would
be
great
if
the
team
had
come
up
here
and
join
us,
and
we
have
a
resolution
I'm
going
to
turn
this
over
to
my
colleague,
councilmember
Jacob
Frye,
and
come
on
up
guys
and
get
in
in
the
either
side
here.
So
your
parents
can
see
on
TV,
probably
not
such
a
big
deal
when
you
guys
are
starts
all
right.
If
you
put
it
any
way,
all.
B
All
right
guys!
Well,
you
know
this
has
really
become
an
annual
tradition
at
this
point
that
I
perhaps
love
more
than
any
other
annual
tradition.
We
have
here
at
the
city
of
Minneapolis,
which
is
inviting
the
DLO
cell
basketball
team
back
for
what
is
now
their
6th
straight
state
championship.
That
is,
that
is
extraordinary.
Now
you
know
I
like
winning,
but
I
love
domination
even
more-
and
this
is
pure.

in

the

included,

therefore,
be

My
name
is
Adam

I'm.
The

director
at
deal

high

on
behalf
of
deal
sell
high
school.
We
want
to
thank
all
City
Hall
for
allowing
us
to
be
here
and
for
the
distinguished
honor
I
mean
here
and
for
representing
our
coaches
and
Dave.
Thorson
has
moved
on
to
the
collegiate
ranks,
so
he's
unfortunately
not
able
to
be
here,
but
this
is
always
one
of
his
favorite
trips.
B
A
H
A
I
always
say
this
is
such
a
special
pleasure
for
me,
because
coach,
McKenzie
and
I
have
been
friends
for
a
very
long
time.
Our
daughters
played
basketball
together
since
we're
trying
to
decide
it
was
third
grade
or
fourth
grade
and
we've
shared
many
many
nights
days
on
basketball
court,
and
so
it's
always
fun
to
see
his
team's
have
such
great
success
and
we're
very,
very
proud
of
North
High,
the
Renaissance
that's
occurring
there
and
you
guys
as
a
championship.
It's
just
been
fabulous.
So
I'ma
turn
it
over
to
my
colleague
longing.
L
L
This
is
the
resolution
honoring
the
2016-2017
Minneapolis
North,
Community,
High,
School,
Polar's
boys,
basketball
team,
whereas
the
North
Community
High,
School,
Polar's
boys,
basketball
team
won
the
2017
Minnesota
State
Class
A
championship
on
March
25th,
defeating
North
Woods,
96
249
and
the
Polar's
have
won
two
straight
Class
A
titles
going
to
get
to
six
they'll
read
the
Polar's,
have
won
seven
state
titles
and
have
made
22
state
tournament.
Appearances,
the
Polar's
finished
the
season
with
the
32
and
2
record
and
we're
also
the
city
champions
and
the
sectional
champions.
L
Minneapolis
North,
Community,
High
School
has
seen
an
academic
and
athletic
resurgence
since
they
was
threatened
with
closure
in
2010.
The
resurgence
is
due
to
the
leadership
of
dr.
Sean
Harris
berry,
the
principal
dr.,
Leo
Lewis,
the
third,
the
athletic
director
and
other
teachers,
administrators
and
coaches
and
whereas
head
coach,
Larry
Mackenzie
took
over
the
struggling
basketball
program
in
2013
and
since
then
the
Polar's
have
won
the
Minneapolis
City
Conference
championship
four
years
in
a
row
from
2013
to
2017
and
whereas
the
2016-2017
Rosser
includes,
and
not
everyone's
here.
L
You
guys
I,
followed
this
game
for
the
past
four
years
and
I
just
have
to
tell
you.
You
all
have
played
amazingly
well.
Coach
McKenzie
was
quoted
in
the
paper
saying
that,
in
terms
of
individual
talents
at
played
for
player,
this
is
not
been.
You
know
the
most
talented
in
terms
of
what
you
seen,
but
I
mean
in
terms
of
team.
L
This
is
probably
one
of
the
best
things
that
he's
coached
and
so
I
I
got
the
distinct
privilege
of
seeing
that
you
know
almost
every
game
this
season-
and
this
has
been
an
amazing
team
for
me
to
see.
So
thank
you
all
for
playing
so
well
and
I'm,
just
so
proud
of
the
seniors
that
are
playing
for
their
last.
L
You
know
season
and
for
all
the
young
folks
that
are,
you
know
coming
up,
especially
the
seventh
grader,
who
can
dunk
I
mean
that's
just
amazing,
so
this
so
proud
of
you
all
and
I'm
going
to
pass
it
on
to
my
very
left
and
then,
if
you
can
introduce
yourselves
and
say
a
few
things
about
yourself,
just
moving
on
okay.
Thank
you.
G
N
Leo
Lewis
athletic
director
for
Minneapolis,
Community,
High,
School,
Polar's,
yeah
sure
what
and
think,
thanks
to
the
whole
kippa
city
council
chairman
for
having
us
here
we're
getting
used
to
this
we've
been
here
quite
often
over
the
last
13
months,
with
two
basketball
championships
and
a
football
championship.
So
we
want
that
to
continuous,
no
doubt
about
that,
certainly
on
behalf
of
the
entire
school
staff
and
faculty
and
the
coaches
who
put
in
tireless
effort
in
time
to
really
mentor
and
meet
these
young
men
to
greater
heights
and
we're
looking
forward
to
getting
even
better.
L
And
I
just
want
to
give
one
last
shout
out
the
thing
that
folks
don't
understand
about
North
High
School
is
that
they're
in
Class
A
because
of
their
enrollment.
It's
a
tiny,
tiny
enrollment,
even
in
North
Minneapolis,
and
the
thing
that
other
folks
should
recognize
is
that
many
of
the
student
athletes
up
here
play
several
sports,
and
you
know
we've
seen
some
of
these
guys
before.
Maybe
all
of
these
guys
used
for
because
they
were
a
part
of
the
state's
a
football
championship
as
well,
and
so
just
amazing.
Okay.
A
M
A
Have
a
quorum
present
