Description
Minneapolis Zoning & Planning Committee Meeting
A
Good
morning,
everyone,
my
name,
is
Andrew
Johnson
I
am
the
councilmember
for
Ward
12
and
the
chair
of
today's
meeting.
We
do
not
have
quorum
for
today's
meeting,
so
we
will
be
adjourn
it,
but
I
do
know
that
there
are
a
number
of
folks
here
to
speak
on
the
beacon,
interfaith
housing,
collaborative
and
I
would
love
to
give
them
the
opportunity
to
please
speak
and
we
can
go
ahead
and
have
them
come
up
to
the
microphone.
I
will
mention
that
we
do
have
a
public
hearing
sign-in
sheet
as
well.
B
Morning
I
believe
last
executive,
director
of
beacon,
interphase
housing
collaborative,
and
we
really
appreciate
the
opportunity
to
speak
today,
but
I
think
we're
so
excited
to
be
here.
On
the
day
the
vote
happens
so
I
think.
If
it's
all
right
with
you,
we
will
return
when
the
vote
is
scheduled.
Absolutely.
A
B
A
C
Thank
you,
mr.
chair,
and
although
I
am
NOT
on
this
committee,
technically
I
did
want
to
speak
to
all
of
you
and
just
give
a
gigantic.
Thank
you.
Everybody
is
for
affordable
housing.
At
the
macro
level,
everybody
is
for
affordable.
Housing
is
from
a
symbolic
stance,
but
as
soon
as
you
start
getting
into
the
details,
how
are
you
going
to
pay
for
it
and
where
are
you
going
to
put
it?
C
That's
when
suddenly
people
start
pushing
back
I
mean
they
may
have,
you
know
voted
for
Barack,
Obama
or
Bernie
Sanders
and
the
all
for
affordable
housing,
but
as
soon
as
you
start
talking
about
it
in
your
own
backyard,
there
is
pushback,
and
you
know,
I'm
really
proud
to
have
worked
all
of
you
to
ease
the
tension
to
build
community
to
bring
seemingly
divergent
opinions
together
in
to
what
will
ultimately
be
I.
Think
a
massive
community
emblem
I
mean
this
is
really
what
everything
that
our
city
should
stand
for.
C
I
mean
our
city
should
stand
for
diversity.
Our
city
should
stand
for
second
chances.
Our
city
should
stand
for
building
community
among
a
diverse
group
of
people
and
I.
Think
in
this
instance
we're
most
definitely
doing
it.
I
think
that
the
North
Loop
neighborhood
association
will
benefit
tremendously.
The
North
Loop
neighborhood
will
benefit
tremendously
from
Great
River,
Landing
I.
Think
the
people
in
Great,
River
Landing
will
benefit
tremendously
from
the
North
Loop
neighborhood,
and
it
will
be
the
beautiful
symbiotic
relationship
where
you
know
everyone
comes
together
and
ultimately,
everyone
succeeds
and
I.
