Description
Minneapolis Intergovernmental Relations Committee Meeting
A
Good
afternoon
scheduled
in
our
governmental,
Relations
Committee
August
15th
I
am
the
chair
of
the
committee
councilmember
Andrew
Johnson
I'm
joined
today
by
councilmembers
Schrader
vice
chair
Jenkins
and
councilmember
Ike.
We
are
a
quorum
of
the
committee
and
we
have
one
item
today
on
our
agenda
of
public
hearing
for
the
debt
for
capital,
expenditures,
charter,
amendment
and
I.
Don't
know
if
staff
have
any
sort
of
presentation.
B
A
A
Anyone
here
to
speak
on
this
item,
not
seeing
any
I'm
gonna
go
ahead
and
close
the
public
hearing
and
we
will
have
why
don't
we
have
our
staff
come
up
and
tell
us
the
two
language
versions
we
have
to
choose
from
for
this
also
note
that
we've
been
joined
by
council
president
bender
and
council
member
Mike
welcome
it's
rough.
Mr.
B
Chair
members
of
the
committee
and
mark
ruff,
the
city's
chief
financial
officer,
we
had
worked
with
the
City
Attorney's
Office
to
formulate
language
originally
on
this
charter,
amendment
that
had
a
more
generic
description
of
Consumer,
Price,
Index
or
CPI
as
it
is
popularly
known,
Charter
Commission
suggested
a
more
specific
measure
of
CPI,
so
that
is
one
of
the
basic
language
differences
between
the
versions.
We
are
certainly
comfortable
with
changes
made
by
the
Charter
Commission,
and
you
know,
in
deference
to
their
hard
work.
B
B
B
I
believe
no
I
think
the
the
language
is
the
one
that
ends
or
both.
So
above
there.
It
is
a
more
specific
CPI,
federal,
Consumer,
Price
Index
for
all
urban
consumers,
US
city
gnash
average
series
for
all
items,
not
seasonally,
adjusted
or
on
the
same
page.
For
that
and
at
the
end
the
second
Clause
is
or
both
rather
than
in
combination,
their
own
again.
I
think
that
second
one
is
just
the
previous
language
was,
or
in
any
combination
thereof,
and
the
Charter
Commission
just
simplified.
