Description
Minneapolis Public Health, Environment, Civil Rights, and Engagement Committee Meeting
A
Good
morning,
everyone
I'm
going
to
call
to
order
the
meeting
of
the
this
meeting
of
the
public
health
environment,
civil
rights
and
engagement
committee
for
Wednesday
September,
12
2018.
This
is
a
little
bit
of
a
change
of
our
use
usual
schedule.
So,
thanks
for
being
here
this
morning,
the
my
name
is
Philippe.
Cunningham
and
I.
Am
the
chair
of
this
committee
with
me
at
the
Dyess,
our
council,
members,
Cano,
Schrader
and
council.
Vice
president
Jenkins,
let
the
record
reflect
we
have
a
quorum,
so
I
wanted
to
actually
take
a
quick
moment
here
to
speak.
A
A
This
is
an
issue
that
you're
passionate
about
so
I
wanted
to
just
share
that
where
we
are
now
in
the
process
is
that
at
the
meaning
in
the
mayor's
office
on
August,
8th
2018,
there
was
a
timeline
that
was
discussed
for
the
ordinance
passage
being
presented
at
the
Peace
Committee
on
Monday
November
26th,
with
approval
at
Council
on
December
7th.
There
is
going
to
be
a
public
meeting
to
discuss,
updates
and
timelines
for
municipal
ID
being
held
next.
B
A
So
there
is
going
to
be
a
public
meeting
to
discuss
this
in
a
Monday
September
17th
at
Waite
house,
which
is
23:23
11th
Avenue
South
in
Minneapolis
at
6:00
p.m.
so
we
have
organizations
are
encouraged
to
attend,
to
hear
updates
from
the
city.
Ask
questions
and
provide
feedback.
I
just
want
to
share
that.
There
is
a
lot
of
discussion
around
this
issue
right
now
within
the
city.
A
Okay,
thank
you
so
much
definitely
have
support
here,
and
that
is
absolutely
the
case.
So
we
have
three
items
on
the
consent
agenda,
but
also
I
will
be
introducing
a
walk-on
item
today.
So
first
is
the
staple
food
ordinance
were
referring
to
staff
the
subject
matter
of
an
ordinance
amending
Title
10
chapter
203
of
the
Minneapolis
Code
of
Ordinances
related
to
food
code,
grocery
stores
and
many
provisions
related
to
staple
foods.
A
A
So
so
the
language
I
have
to
apologize.
We,
my
staff,
has
it
and
we
should
be
printing
it
off,
but
the
language
is
essentially
that
is
that
Health
Department,
our
staff
are
directed
to
work
with
violence
prevention,
partners,
I
apologize
that
I
don't
have
it
and
hard
for
it
right
now,
but
what
I
just
said
is
basically
what
the
language
is.
So
I
apologize
for
that
we'll
get
that
to
you
as
well
yeah.
A
B
D
C
D
A
D
To
really
bring
forward
a
useful
and
productive
municipal
ID,
the
work
is
definitely
challenging,
given
all
of
the
the
state
federal
regulations
that
we
need
to
to
make
sure
that
we
are
clearing
to
have
the
right
sort
of
data
protection
to
have
the
right
amount
of
I.
Think
relevance
of
the
municipal
ID,
and
so
it
definitely
is,
is
taking
time
and
effort
to
bring
that
forward.
We
are
continuously
working
on
it.
B
A
Right
so,
let's
go
ahead
and
begin
to
wrap
up
the
meeting
here.
Are
there
any
position
all
right?
We
have
given
a
lot
of
space.
We
agree
with
you.
We
agree
that
this
is
an
important
issue.
I
think
we've
made
it
very
clear
where
we
are
with
the
town:
no,
because
we're
not
ready
to
pass
it
yet
because
we
want
to
have
good,
please
be
respectful
of
the
space
that
you
are
in
right
now
we
have
held
space
already.
A
Are
there
any
other
questions
on
the
items
that
are
in
front
of
us
all
right,
seeing
no
further
questions,
I
move
the
approval
of
all
four
items,
those
in
a
those
in
favor
of
the
motion,
please
signify
by
saying
aye
aye,
those
opposed
say
no,
the
eyes
have
it
and
that
those
items
are
approved,
seeing
no
further
business
in
front
of
committee.
This
meeting
is
adjourned.
