Description
Minneapolis Public Safety & Emergency Management Committee Meeting
A
Good
morning,
everyone
today
is
January
9
2019,
and
this
is
the
regularly
scheduled
meeting
of
the
public
safety
and
emergency
management
committee.
I
am
joined
this
morning
by
council
members,
Jeremiah
Ellison,
councilmember,
Steve,
Fletcher,
council,
vice-president
Andrea
Jenkins
and
council
member
lenay
Palmisano.
This
is
our
first
meeting
of
the
year
and
as
a
committee,
we
have
quorum
and
can
conduct
the
business
of
this
committee.
A
We
have
a
short
agenda
today
and
we
will
need
to
add
a
public
comment
period
as
we
have
planned
to
have
a
public
comment
period
at
the
beginning
of
every
meeting
for
this
year.
So
I'll
just
make
a
note
to
the
clerk
to
please
make
sure
that
we
add
that
to
the
agenda
moving
forward
from
now
on,
and
so
we
shall
add
that
to
the
agenda
and
we
also
have
three
consent
items.
A
So
all
those
in
favor
of
having
the
public
comment
period
to
the
beginning
of
this
meeting,
please
say
aye
aye,
so
we
shall
take
any
public
comment
at
this
moment.
So
if
anybody
here
in
the
audience
is
here
to
share
any
thoughts
or
opinions,
suggestions,
ideas
on
the
work
of
Public,
Safety
and
emergency
management
for
the
city,
please
feel
free
to
join
us
at
the
front.
A
Seeing
no
comments,
we
shall
move
forward
to
the
consent
agenda,
so
we
have
three
items
today.
Number
one
is
a
contract
with
Hennepin
Technical
College
for
training
of
Minneapolis
Police
Department
cadets.
Item
number:
two:
is
a
donation
from
accept
I'm,
sorry,
accepting
a
donation
from
the
kid
fires,
fire
safety,
products
of
smoke,
alarms
and
carbon
monoxide
detectors.
A
Item
number
three
is
accepting
a
donation
of
generators
from
the
Department
of
Defense,
a
firefighter
property
program
to
the
Minneapolis
Fire
Department
for
the
use
of
tactical
operations,
and
so
since
that's
on
consent,
are
there
any
questions
on
these
items?
Seeing
none?
We
shall
move
these
Horrors
and
approve
them
all.
Those
in
favor,
I
are
I
and
with
that
we
are
done
with
the
business
of
the
committee
for
this
morning.
If
folks
have
any
other
comments,
questions
ideas,
thoughts
as
we
get
going,
you
can
chime
in.
Otherwise
we
can
adjourn.
