A
Welcome
to
the
regularly
scheduled
meeting
of
the
economic
development
and
regulatory
Services
Committee
for
today,
February
18th
we've
been
joined
by
councilmembers,
Cano,
Fletcher
and
Gordon,
which
is
a
quorum
of
the
committee.
There
are
five
consent
items
for
us
to
take
up
today,
including
the
liquor
license
approvals
and
the
renewals.
A
The
gambling
license
renewals
and
then
probably
in
the
most
major
item
today
is
item
number
four,
which
is
the
follow
up
on
the
friends
licenses,
and
these
are
rental,
license
conditions
with
tenant
protections
that
are
being
put
in
place
in
order
to
extend
the
lack
of
evictions
from
the
friends
properties.
Given
that
he
is
not
licensed
to
operate
item
number
five
is
applications
accepting
grants
from
deed
as
well
as
Hennepin
County
and
the
Metropolitan
Council.
A
Are
there
any
items
anyone
would
like
to
pull
items
one
through
five,
which,
with
a
big
THANK
YOU
to
Kevin
Carroll
for
both
being
here
today
and
all
the
work
that
you
do
to
make
these
grants
happen?
Are
there
any
items
anyone
would
like
to
pull
of
those
five
sing?
None
on
the
chairs
motion
to
approve
the
consent
agenda,
all
in
favor
signify
by
saying
aye
any
opposed.
That
item
is
approved,
we'll
move
on
to
our
remaining
item,
which
is
item
number
six.
A
B
You,
madam
chair,
and
thanking
you
for
the
allowing
me
to
speak
I'll,
be
very
brief
on
this.
What
it's
been
happening
recently
is
we
heard
from
community
that
they
had
not
felt
heard
on
many
of
the
things
from
housing,
as
well
as
small
businesses?
From
those
conversations,
it
was
kind
of
pretty
evident
that
a
lot
of
people
had
the
same
goal
in
mind
that
you
know.
Staff
has
been
working
diligently
on
some
of
these
issues
and,
at
the
same
time,
it
did
not
fully
alleviate
community
concerns.
B
I
worked
with
councilmember
Ellison
to
work
on
a
staff
direction
as
well
as
this
resolution
continue
to
work
with
director
Frank
on
getting
the
wording
right,
but
again.
This
is
something
that
we
want
to
make
sure.
The
intention
is
to
move
forward,
to
really
highlight
the
things
that
the
city
is
doing.
