B
Okay,
that
carries
and
the
consent
agenda
is
consented,
items
are
approved
and
now
we
have
item
16,
which
is
a
discussion

and
that
is
a
passage
of
a
resolution
declaring
the
week
of
may
16th
2021
as
the
national
public
work
suite.
B
Now,
therefore
be
resolved
by
the
city
council,
the
city
of
minneapolis.
The
city
council,
acknowledges
the
significant
daily
contribution
that
the
employees
within
the
public
works
department
of
the
city
of
minneapolis
provide
to
the
citizens
and
businesses
throughout
the
city.
During
the
national
public
works
week,
I
will
open
the
floor
for
any
comments
or
discussion.
B
I
do
see
director
jelly
in
the
cube.
F
All
right,
thank
you.
Yes,
thank
you.
Chair
reich
committee
members,
just
very
briefly.
First
of
all,
I
want
to
thank
you
and
the
committee
for
taking
a
moment
out
of
your
schedule
to
recognize
public
works
week.
This
is
the
this
is
the
second
and
hopefully,
final
pandemic
version
of
national
public
works
week.
It
it
definitely
kind
of
changes,
how
we
can
recognize
our
employees,
but
this
is
important
part
of
it
in
a
tradition.
F
So
thank
you
and
I
just
want
to
take
a
moment
and
and
thank
the
people
of
of
the
department.
You
know
the
resolution
does
a
great
job,
I
think,
of
kind
of
highlighting
some
of
our
work
and
it
I
just
want
to
again.
It
is
the
people
who
are
showing
up
every
day.
F
B
Thank
you
for
that
I'll
call
on
councilmember,
gordon.
E
Well,
thank
you,
and
I
just
want
to
join
in
thanking
all
our
public
works
employees
for
the
great
work
they've
done.
You
know
brett
kind
of
mentioned.
It
worked
especially
during
the
pandemic,
and
I
will
just
note
that
I've
got
compliments
throughout
the
war
talking
to
people
about
how
we're
able
to
keep
our
work
going
throughout.
E
All
of
this,
we
actually
had
some
pretty
significant
unrest
and
turmoil
in
and
near
ward,
two
and
the
fact
that
public
works
could
keep
working
with
significant
people
were
still
getting
water,
their
garbage
was
getting
picked
up
and
the
recycling
roads
were
getting
fixed.
All
of
those
things
it
was
continuing,
and
so
I'm
deeply
grateful
for
that,
and
I
think
it's
appropriate
that
we
acknowledge
that
and
I
feel
a
responsibility
to
share
the
thanks
from
all
of
my
constituents
for
the
great
work
of
public
works
staff.
So
thank
you.
B
G
Thanks,
mr
chair,
I
did
just
want
to
know
that
I
was
here,
but
I
also
want
to
just
thank
you
for
highlighting
this
resolution
and
just
thank
our
staff
for
all
that
they've
done
for
the
city,
both
very
visible
and
sometimes
less
so,
but
we
as
policymakers
see
all
of
it
and
appreciate
it
so
deeply.
Thank
you.
D
D
I
was
thinking
back
like
director
jelly
referenced
to
when
we
used
to
get
to
celebrate
this
in
person
and
then
in
particular,
two
years
ago,
I
got
to
visit
with
the
workers
at
the
at
the
water
yard,
which
is
in
the
third
ward,
and
see
both
that.
Yes,
we
need
to
build
them
a
better
facility.
D
It
was
evident
how
cramped
a
lot
of
those
working
conditions
were,
but
also
how
nobody
was
letting
them
stop
letting
that
stop
them.
From
going
about
the
work
of
maintaining
our
city's
infrastructure
and
I'll,
say,
ward.
Three
constituents
are
so
appreciative
of
the
ways
that
we're
seeing
you
know
really
evident
improvements
and
and
seeing
real
investment
and
infrastructure,
and
we
appreciate
the
work
that
each
and
every
one
of
you
does
and
don't
let
the
lack
of
opportunity
to
physically
visit
you
and
your
workspace
under
covered
protocols.
D
B
Thank
you
for
those
comments
and
observations,
councilman
fletcher.
Anyone
else
wish
to
make
comment
or
further
discussion.
B
If
not,
I
will
echo
the
compliments
and
observations
of
my
colleagues
and
director
jelly.
I
think
they
accurately
reflect
a
sense
of
gratitude
and
I
think,
a
sense
of
how
impressed
we
have
been
with
the
functionality
of
a
department
that
just
gets
the
job
done,
and
I
think
this
resolution
honors
that
touches
on
it,
but
could
never
really
capture
the
the
breadth
and
depth
of
the
work
that
it
takes
to
make
a
city,
tick
and
collectively
the
many
apartments
that
make
up
transportation.
B
Public
works,
that's
what
gets
done
and
we
gratitude
for
that.
With
that,
I
will
move
this
item.
Unless
there's
any
further
discussion,
I
will
have
the
clerk
confirm
the
role.
