From YouTube: May 26, 2021 Policy & Government Oversight Committee
Description
B
Good
afternoon
my
name
is
andrea
jenkins
and
I
am
the
chair
of
the
policy
and
government
oversight
committee.
I
am
going
to
call
to
order
our
regular
committee
meeting
for
wednesday
may
26th
I'd
like
to
note
for
the
record
that
this
meeting
has
remote
participation
by
council
members
and
city
staff
is
authorized
under
the
minnesota
open
meeting
law,
section
13
d
.021
due
to
the
declared
state
of
local
public
health
emergency.
B
I
will
also
note
that
the
city
will
be
recording
and
posting
this
meeting
to
the
city's
website
and
youtube
channel
as
a
means
of
increasing
public
access
and
transparency.
This
meeting
is
public
and
subject
to
minnesota
open
meeting
laws.
This
time
I
would
ask
the
clerk
to
call
the
role
to
verify
the
presence
of
a
quorum.
C
C
B
B
Let
the
record
reflect
that
we
do
have
a
quorum.
I
also
want
to
note
that
council
member
gordon
messaged
me
and
indicated
that
he
had
a
family
emergency
that
is
is
going
longer
than
he
anticipated,
and
also
note
that
councilmember
connell
has
joined
the
meeting
as
well
and
colleagues.
We
have
19
items
on
today's
agenda,
all
of
which
are
slated
for
consent
or
as
to
be
received
and
filed,
and
before
I
just
continue.
B
We
have
been
joined
by
councilmembers,
connell
and
reich
items.
One
and
two
are
the
appointed
positions
to
the
city
coordinator's
office.
Item
number
three
is
an
appointment
of
jonathan
on
to
the
capital
long-range
improvements
committee
and
number.
Four
is
a
gift
acceptance
from
the
poland
family
foundation
for
to
support,
transforming
public
safety
item
number
five
and
six
are
various
legal
settlements.
B
Items
7
through
17
are
various
contract
amendments
relating
to
the
new

project
and
number

and
files
a
citizen
petition
to
be
referred
to
the
electorate
in
the
form
of
a
ballot
question
at
the
general
election
on
tuesday
november,
2nd
2021
to
add
new
to
add
a
new
public
safety
department
and
eliminate
the
standalone
police
department
and
number
19
receives
and
files
a
proposal
to
amend
the
city
charter,
which
relates
to
the
government
structure
to
be
referred
to
the
electorate
in
the
form
of
a
ballot
question
at
the
general
election
on
tuesday
november
2nd
2021.
B
And
I
will
note
that,
at
its
most
recent
meeting,
the
city
council
directed
the
city
attorney's
office
to
return
to
this
committee
with
draft
ballot
language
for
both
of
these
proposed
charter
amendments.
B
Any
questions
comments
from
my
colleagues
seeing
none.
I
will
move
approval
of
the
consent
agenda
and
the
receiving
file
agenda
and
ask
again:
is
there
any.

B
That
also
concludes
our
scheduled
business
for
this
meeting,
and
with
that
this
meeting
is.
