and

mr

have
over
70
years
of
experience
in
the
restaurant
industry.

the

chef
and
restaurant
owner

the
successful

now
on
the
new
ownership,
hong
kong
noodle
restaurant.
In
a
prospect
park,
minneapolis

wu
managers
currently
manages

purchased
the
property
up

west

street
in
2020

march
of

for

personal

property
is

Hiawatha
academies

network
of
public
charter
schools
operated
in
minneapolis

2016.

properties
are
hiawatha
leadership,
academy
elementary
at
1611,
east
46th
street
iowa
academy
college
prep
at
4640,
17th
avenue,
south
and
hiawatha
morris
park
facility
at
3810
east
56th
street.
At
this
time,
hiawatha
is
asking
the
city
to
issue
up
to
19
million
dollars
in
tax-exempt
revenue
bonds
to
refinance
the
2016
bonds
refinancing.
The
2016
bonds
will
allow
hiawatha
to
take
advantage
of
more
favorable
terms
and
to
reduce
their
annual
expenses
up
to
335
000
a
year.

revenue
bond
issuance
will
come
from
bondholders

borrower

look

colleagues

wouldn't
have.
This
wouldn't
have
been
the
same
meeting
seven
years
ago.
The
work
that
we're
doing
today
is
has
really
fundamentally
shifted
as
a
result
of
a
number
of
things.

One,

think,
is
the

really
looking
to
community
and
to
stakeholders
to
make
sure
that
the
work
that
we're
doing
is
truly
informed
through
engagement
process
and
and
listening
to
the
experts,
and
when
I
say

experts,

me,

mean
people
who
are
out
there
facing
challenges
every
day
and
I
a
lot
of
the
work
that
we're
doing
is
a
result
of
listening
and
responding
another.

result

looking
at
all

programs,

board,

housing
programs,
our
business
development,

support

workforce

underserved

residents

people
of
color,

those
disparities
are
different
depending

different
racial

ethnic
backgrounds,

program

cped
in
the
last
five
years,
and

probably
more
recently
than
that

our
our
results.

showing
tremendous

The
majority,

vast
majority

residents,
businesses
that
we
now
serve
again
from
housing
to
business,
supports
the
affordable
housing
trust
fund
from
the
the
you
know,

work
that
we're

minneapolis
homes
program
to
the
commercial
property
development
fund
program.
We
saw
today
our
workforce
programs
for
adult
and
for
youth,
our
career
pathway
programs.
We
all
of
these
programs,
the
majority
of
folks
that
we
serve
are
our
black
indigenous
and
people
of
color.

so
this
is
happening
because
of
a
commitment
and
because
of
intentionality
and
because

buy-in
a
lot
of
the
improvements
that
we're
seeing

our

very
important
that
we

own

racist

away

equity

diversity

group
of

staff
and
they've

they
sort
of
cycle
through
terms
of
participating
in
this
committee.

They've
made
many
recommendations
to
cped
leadership
that
have
been,
I
think,
very
instrumental
in
helping
us
along
our
our
cultural
agility
work,
including
making
sure
that
whenever
we
hire
staff
in
cped
that
were,
we
use
diverse,
hiring
panels
that
we
get
at
good,
higher,
good
questions,
around
potential
candidates,
commitment
to
to
equity
and
and
and
inclusion
in
the
workplace.

you
know
it's
also
really
important
that
we
we
look
at
the
data
and
that
we
are
tracking
the
hr
has
has
created
for
us
a
dashboard
that
provides
helpful
data
on
you

on
demographics,

see
retention
data
who's,
leaving.

they
leaving

people
transferring
who's
getting
promoted?

important

improve

intentionally

sure

creating

work

work

often

work
is,

not
measured
in

measured
in

are

A
lot
of
this
work
takes

very
long
time.

ways

we

really
pivoted
in
cped
and
been
able
to
you

focus
our
our
energy.
Make
sure
that
we
are
able
to
prioritize
this
work

we've
we've
created
an
internal
recovery
team
that
includes
folks
from
housing

from
the
small
business
team
from
business
development.

our
workforce
teams
and
to

sure

we

from

planning
staff
to
make
sure

we

able
to
kind
of
have
like
a
one
working
group
that
can
address
the
multitude
issues
that
are
before
us

losing
lake
streak

some
owners
that
whose
properties
were
damaged
during
civil
unrest

lot
of
owners
have
proceeded
and
have
have
applied
for
building
permits.
We've
expedited
those
processes,

underway,
they
are
rebuilding

are
other
owners
that
have
struggled
a
little
bit.

of
them

our
owners
that
aren't

You
know
that
are
new
to
the
system
of
of
development,
and
so
one
of
the
things
that
we're
doing
with
this
recovery,
this
internal
recovery
team-
is
that
we're
all
talking

all
of
those
conversations
are
happening
internally
so
that
individual
residents
or
individual
businesses
or
individual
owners
don't
have
to
go
to

different
staff
people
to
get
answers
to
their
questions.

coordination
