A
Regular
meeting
of
the
Minneapolis
Board
of
estimate
and
Taxation
for
September
20th,
2023
I'm
Steve
Brant
I'm,
the
vice
president
of
the
board
and
I'll,
be
chairing
today's
meeting.
In
the
absence
of
some
president
Samantha
pree
Stinson,
who
was
home
ill
I'm.
Sure
all
my
colleagues
join
me
in
wishing
her
a
full
recovery.
B
A
A
B
A
C
A
A
Seeing
that
there's
a
proper
motion
before
us
all,
those
in
favor
will
signify
by
saying
aye
aye.
Those
opposed
name
motion
has
passed.
We.
Our
next
item
is
public
comment.
The
eyes
have
it
and
we'll
move
on
to
our
public
comment.
I
understand.
We
have
at
least
two
people
on
who
have
signed
up
to
make
public
comments.
Today,
we
will
welcome.
We
welcome
the
members
of
the
public
who
have
shown
up
both
for
commenting
and
to
observe
the
meeting
for
our
bylaws.
A
The
public
comment
period
is
a
total
of
10
minutes
Kirk
until
informs
me
that
we
have
a
total
of
two
people
signed
up
to
speak
today.
So
you
each
get
two
minutes
to
offer
your
comments,
and
so
the
first
person
I
have
on
the
on
the
sign
in
sheet
is
Paul
I?
Believe
it's
Alan?
E
Then
everyone
thank
you
for
passing
the
current
resolution
of
the
of
the
tax
levy.
All
of
us
in
housing,
I
I,
feel
appreciate.
This
I
would
simply
remind
the
board
that
our
our
expenses,
you
know,
continue,
continue
to
rise
so
that
in
subsequent
years
perhaps
the
amount
levied
will
be
somewhat
more,
since
we
have,
as
I
say,
continuing
continuing
things
that
must
be
renovated.
E
C
C
A
Is
there
anyone
else
who
wishes
to
speak
today
from
the
public
see
none?
We
thank
you
for
your
comments
and
we
will
move
on
to
item
five,
which
is
the
resolution
fixing
the
maximum
certified
tax
levies
for
property
tax
payables
in
2024
for
various
levies
from
General
taxation,
and
this
is
one
of
our
main
orders
of
business
in
the
year.
So
it's
something
we've
come
to
with
substantial
staff
preparation
over
the
past
few
months
and
extended
discussion.
A
A
A
So
we
have
a
motion
before
us.
Any
any
other
comment
mayor.
D
Thank
you,
Mr
President.
If
you
do
these
processes
correctly,
the
final
vote
is
largely
anticlimactic
and
that's
the
way
it
should
be.
We've
done
our
work
ahead
of
time.
We've
negotiated
with
some
really
incredible.
D
Partners
and
we've
come
to
a
resolution
that
funds
public
housing
and
mpha
at
a
record
amount,
and
thank
you
so
much
to
the
public
housing
residents
that
have
come
out
in
droves
that
have
made
it
very
clear
that
we
need
to
be
doing
the
necessary
work
in
providing
the
necessary
funding
to
preserve
public
housing
for
the
Long
Haul
and
add
to
it.
Thank
you
to
the
park
board.
D
Also,
it
was
a
really
good
conversation
in
arriving
at
two
Central
needs
for
our
Park
system,
in
both
the
the
paving
infrastructure
of
the
streets,
as
well
as
the
maintenance
of
the
water
infrastructure
as
well,
and
then
I
I
truly
appreciate
it,
and
then
everybody
that's
been
on
the
bet.
I
wanna.
This
is
kind
of.
One
of
this
is
one
of
the
central
functions
of
the
board
of
estimate
station.
D
Mr
President,
for
instance,
has
asked
some
really
important
questions
that
are
fair
and
I,
appreciate
your
willingness
to
delve
in
and
then
finally
to
our
budget
staff,
who
worked
very
very
hard
on
this.
This
is
a
a
Monumental
effort
again
that
is
receiving
an
anti-climactic
vote
and
I
would
argue
that
that's
a
good
thing,
and
so
thank
you.
