Traffic Control Agent Mai Yang spends a lot of time in her vehicle. But when streets in Minneapolis get a little hectic, she's eager to direct traffic at busy intersections to help people get around the city.

My name is mai yang., I'm a traffic control, agent.

My job is not all about writing tickets., if there's more to that like, for example,.

Doing traffic. I enjoy very much., we just assist vehicles and make sure they don't.

Block the intersection. when people get bumper-to-bumper, things get.

A little hectic. you have to be comfortable and confident.

To do traffic., I spent most of my time in the vehicle.

To a precinct,, we look into 301 and then we,, you know, see. If there's.

A complaint, for example, somebody parking in a handicapped zone without a.

A permit or parking in a no-parking zone or just obstructing traffic.

Then we drive around and then we enforce.. So it's saying that 1353 is expired.

What I'm doing right now is, I am running my 46,, so what I mean that that is it's a.

Busy street during rush hour, so we want to make sure there's no cars there. So.

Vehicles could get home easily.. My job is not to ruin any individuals day.. My job.

Is to make sure that, you know,, everybody complies to the rules and make sure.

Traffic flows easily in and out of minneapolis.
