From YouTube: A City that works – Health inspector
Description
Health Inspector Kenya Urena-Muro visits about 350 businesses in Minneapolis each year. A large part of her job is building relationships with restaurant operators and managers to make sure the food served in our community is safe.
A
My
name
is
Kenya
Irina,
Moreau
and
I
am
a
health
inspector.
Okay,
generally
ready
for
inspection,
people
should
feel
like
the
food
they're
eating
at
restaurants
is
safe
on
a
typical
restaurant
inspection,
we'll
walk
and
observe
the
restaurant.
Do
you
guys
make
these
today,
on
average
I
would
say
I
inspect
about
350
businesses
per
year?
Yeah!
That's
perfect!
That's
going
above
and
beyond
to
it
like
that.
When
there
is
a
violation,
we
work
with
the
operator
to
get
it
corrected.
A
Sometimes
the
violations
can
be
corrected
immediately
on
site,
for
example,
a
paper
towel
dispenser,
that's
empty.
Other
violations
require
more
of
an
educational
aspect
when
it
gets
to
160
degrees.
That
black
mark
will
turn
black
and
we
will
work
with
them.
On
that
yeah
looks
good.
We
do
build
relationships
with
our
managers
and
operators.
Looks
great
I've
been
in
my
district
for
two
years
now,
so
we
get
to
know
them
build
some
rapport.
For
me,
it's
really
important
to
build
a
relationship
with
them
because
we're
working
on
a
common
goal
of
making
the
food
safe.
