From YouTube: Budget 101
Description
On Monday, June 10 Mayor Frey and City leaders held a conversation around the City budget process. Residents sat with staff to learn how the City creates a budget all while crafting their own budget priorities.
A
This
is
about
engagement.
This
is
about
making
sure
that
that
we,
as
we
move
forward
with
our
budget
process,
that
we
all
we
have
proper
feedback
and
engagement
from
you.
This
is
also
an
opportunity
for
all
of
you
to
kind
of
walk
a
mile
in
my
shoes.
What
you're
gonna
see
here
momentarily
is:
is
you're
gonna,
see
a
bunch
of
change
orders
that
are
on
the
sheets
now.
Those
are
examples
of
change
items
that
we
get
on
a
routine
basis
over
at
city
halls.
B
We
voted
for
the
animals,
we
did
go
with
cultural
districts
and
kind
of
an
interesting
piece
about
what
is
the
city
responsible
for
and
what
isn't
and
what
it's.
So
a
lot
of
you
know
discussion
about.
Well,
this
is
great,
but
should
the
city
be
paying
for
it?
And
sometimes
we
said
you
know
opiate
crisis,
we
I
think
we
all
agreed
that
we
need
to
throw
everything
we
got
out
of
city
county
state
back
other
things,
not
so
much
I
appreciate.
A
You
working
with
us
on
the
simplification
process,
and
this
is
you
know
the
third
for
this
first
time.
We've
done
this,
you
know,
and
so
obviously
there
will
be
changes
and
improvements
it'll
be
made
along
the
way,
but
I
appreciate
all
of
you
kind
of
coming
in
here:
open-minded
ready
to
participate
in
the
democracy.
