A
Hi,
my
name
is
Darren
Carlson
I'm,
the
president
CEO
of
prospect
foundry
to
make
iron
castings
for
large
companies,
mainly
John
Deere,
caterpillar,
great
garlic
oil.
We
consume
about
one
hundred
and
forty
thousand
dollars
a
month
in
electricity,
so
we're
doing
whatever
we
can
to
make
the
community
better.
So
there's
two
grants
that
we
utilized
by
the
city
of
Minneapolis.
The
first
was
our
lighting
project.
We
invested
over
200,
some
thousand
and
new
lighting
through
the
entire
plant.
A
We
went
to
new
LED
lighting
that
is
time-sensitive,
so
they'll
shut
off,
if
not
in
use,
they'll
also
adjust
based
on
the
ambient
light
outside
these
lights
were
on
24/7
365
days
a
year
and
the
reason
for
that
was
the
time
you
shut
them
off
and
turn
the
back
on.
It
would
take
10
to
15
minutes,
and
so
now,
when
you
walk
through
the
plant,
they'll
be
activated
by
motion
rather
than
a
light
switch
either
on
Iran.
The
second
one
was
leak
study.
A
We
went
through
and
repaired
all
our
leaks
in
our
plant,
so
that's
saved
us.
Seventy
seven
to
seventy
eight
thousand
dollars
in
an
annual
basis
with
a
initial
investment
of
about
ten
thousand
dollars.
So
this
this
made
the
project
return
on
investment.
A
lot
easier
to
make
this
green
business
cost-share
program
helped
us
prioritize.
These
initiatives
working
with
the
city
was
very
easy
process.
We
started
off
with
Xcel
Energy.
We
worked
with
Centrepointe.
We
also
worked
with
wasman
our
vendor
and
in
the
city
of
Minneapolis.
