From YouTube: City Trees
Description
Healthy trees improve our quality of life, and they need our help.
A
Healthy
trees,
look
beautiful
in
our
neighborhoods,
increased
property
values,
help
clean
the
air
we
breathe,
provide
homes
for
birds
and
other
wildlife
and
help
control,
stormwater
runoff,
a
major
source
of
pollution
in
urban
areas.
A
house
with
mature
trees
planted
to
the
south
and
southwest
of
a
home
saves
money
on
electricity
by
preventing
the
Sun
from
heating.
The
home
as
much
neighborhoods
with
more
large
trees,
have
lower
incidences
of
asthma
and
even
crime
than
areas
with
fewer
trees
and
trees.
A
Shade
pavement,
preventing
aging
of
that
pavement
by
the
Sun,
so
the
roads
and
driveways
don't
need
repairs
is
often,
and
that
saves
taxpayer
dollars,
but
Minneapolis
trees
need
your
help.
We
need
to
replace
the
trees
we
lose
each
year
and
properly
water
and
care
for
the
trees.
We
have
a
pest
emerald.
Ash
borer
threatens
to
kill
all
of
our
200,000
ash
trees.
That's
one
out
of
five
trees
in
Minneapolis.
A
If
you
have
room
on
your
property
plant
a
tree,
preferably
a
larger
species,
because
the
more
leaves
the
greater
benefit
to
you
and
the
environment,
it
takes
time
for
these
trees
to
grow
tall.
But
the
beauty
and
legacy
to
the
community
is
worth
it
any
week.
It
doesn't
rain
at
least
one
inch
water,
the
trees
in
your
yard
and
on
the
boulevard,
especially
if
the
trees
are
younger
than
five
years
old.
A
All
trees
need
water,
setting
a
hose
to
drip
on
the
ground
next
to
the
tree
for
two
hours
works
best,
but
even
pouring
a
bucket
of
water
slowly
around
the
tree
makes
a
difference.
It
only
costs
three
dollars
growing
season
to
keep
a
tree.
Happy
and
healthy.

for
your
home
or
business
