All types of employees in Minneapolis are covered under the sick and safe time. Rules, including part-time workers, employers with six or more employees, must make paid leave accessible to all employees in Minneapolis. Employers with five or fewer workers must provide leave, but it can be unpaid. Sick hours begin accruing on the first day of work. One hour of leave occurs for every thirty hours worked. A crow can be capped at 48 hours yearly in 80 hours overall, depending on the benefit package at your new job. New hires may have to wait.

90 calendar days before using sick time uses include illness or injury, medical treatment, domestic or sexual assault and care for family member employers must post a required notice, poster and inform employees how much lead they have available.

Accrual is tracks per pay period or in a yearly lump sum. Employers may not prevent legitimate usage unless the employee has used all of their sick and save time. Working thriving together, sick and save time makes our city healthier more secure and productive.
