A
B
B
B
I'm
gonna
start
questioning
that
we'll
go
to
the
both
of
you.
It
seems
like
our
interpreter
is
not
here,
but
it's
okay,
I
would
do
that
part
as
well.
So
welcome
again
to
mang
radio
theaters.
B
C
Thank
you
Michael.
My
name
is
Jetta
I
work
for
trellis.
We
are
a
non-profit
organization
that
serves
older
adults
in
the
Twin
Cities
and
we
partner
with
the
state
of
Minnesota
the
board
on
Aging
to
provide
the
services
of
the
senior
linkage
line
and
my
team
is
volunteer
and
Outreach.
So
we
have
the
pleasure
of
being
able
to
go
out
into
communities
to
reach
older
adults,
whether
they're
in
a
community
center
at
a
library
or
different
locations.
C
B
D
Minneapolis
Parks
and
Recreation
board
I'll
create
the
recreation
supervisor.
Rec
Center
will
fall
apart,
Fuller
Park
if
they
provide
programs
for
potential
City
of
Minneapolis
or
else
for
a
blue
neighborhood
Tango
town.
So
they
provide
program
for
Amelia
preschool
to
all
the
way
to.
C
Medical
assistance
is
Minnesota's,
Federal,
Medicaid
Program
and
it
serves
low-income
minnesotans.
On
the
other
hand,
Minnesota
care
is
a
program
for
minnesotans
who
happen
to
be
low
income,
but
they
don't
have
access
to
Affordable
Health
Care
coverage.
B
Medical
assistant
in
Minnesota,
can
you
give
us
and
I'll,
listen
to
a
little
bit
more
background
on
this
process
and
how
it
works
and
where
we
are
come
back
here.
C
Right
during
the
pandemic,
a
lot
of
people
were
hurting
and
they
gained
the
access
to
one
of
these,
two
programs
for
their
health
insurance
government
did
not
do
renewals
during
this
process,
so
anyone
who
gained
access
couldn't
lose
access,
which
was
a
good
thing
for
government.
C
It
helped
us
maintain
High
Health
Care
coverage
for
the
most
vulnerable
minnesotans.
Now
that
we
are
in
a
place
of
the
pandemic,
ending
we're
going
to
go
back
to
renewals.
But
what
we
knew
is
that
during
this
process,
an
additional
360
000
people
became
eligible
for
medical
assistance
or
Minnesota
care,
which
in
Minnesota
is
one
in
four
individuals.
So
it
was
a
lot
of
people
impacted
by
the
pandemic.
They
gained
access
to
these
valuable
programs.
B
B
C
Now
that
the
public
health
emergency
ended
in
December,
it
became
effective
in
May,
so
every
state
Across,
the
Nation-
needs
to
go
back
to
what
we
did
before
the
pandemic,
which
means
that
everyone
who's
eligible
for
medical
assistance
or
Minnesota
care
has
to
go
through
their
renewal
process
and
it
happens
once
a
year.
It's
federal
law
for
the
medical
assistance
program
and
it's
Minnesota
law
for
Minnesota
care.
It
simply
means
that
on
the
Minnesota
medical
assistance
program,
1.5
million
people
are
going
to
have
to
go
through
the
renewal
process.
C
For
for
these
programs,
it
means
that
when
the
renewals
come
due
they're
going
to
have
to
reach
out
to
the
county
or
to
the
tribe,
if
they're
in
the
tribes
or
there,
they
don't,
have
medical
assistance
through
traditional
pieces,
they're
going
to
have
to
reach
out
it's
to
make
sure
that
their
contact
information
is
updated
and
that's
where
the
senior
linkage
line
helps
those
who
are
older
try
to
navigate
a
very
complicated
process.
C
For
those
who
are
on
Minnesota
care,
it's
a
little
easier
during
the
month
of
October.
If
folks
have
Minnesota
care
during
October,
November
and
December
they're
going
to
be
the
county
is
going
to
reach
out
their
care
managers
will
reach
out
we'll
go
through
the
normal
review
process.
Where
we
look
for
what
is
your
income?
Prove
your
pay
stubs
those
types
of
things
so
they're
in
the
last
quarter
of
the
Year
they'll
go
through
the
renewal
process
for
eligibility
and
then,
if
they're
still
eligible
coverage
will
begin
on
January
1st.
C
So
that's
the
easier
process.
The
more
complicated
process
is
medical
assistance
and
it's
only
more
complicated
because
there's
far
more
people
who
are
eligible
for
Medicaid,
which
is
medical
assistance,
it's
an
annual
review
Michael.
What
it
means
is
that
if
you
happen
to
gain
access
in
August,
for
instance,
three
months
prior
to
that,
the
county
will
start
to
reach
out
to
make
sure
that
your
address
is
update.
They'll
start
telling
you
email
or
information
I'll
buy
envelopes
in
the
mail,
the
literature
in
the
mail
mail,
so
that
you
can
start
proving
your
address.
C
What
we
knew
during
the
pandemic
is
people
moved,
they
lost
jobs,
they
moved
in
with
their
kids
and
sometimes
the
counties
can't
find
them.
So
it's
it.
This
renewal
process
is
very
important,
but
it's
on
a
every
month,
so
a
hundred
thousand
or
more
people
will
be
eligible
in
July.
Another
100
eligible
will
be
in
August
and
then
all
the
way
through
the
year.
B
C
Well,
the
most
important
thing
Michael
is
to
check
the
mail,
the
county,
wherever
you
live,
where
they
gained
access
and
eligibility,
is
going
to
send
an
envelope
and
on
that
envelope,
there's
going
to
be
a
big
blue
dot
and
it's
basically
going
to
say
important
information.
Enclosed,
don't
ignore
this
letter,
it's
important
to
be
able
to
receive
it
and
to
do
exactly
what
it
says
for
those
of
us
who
may
need
translation,
because
we
don't
speak
English,
there's
a
lot
of
places
that
folks
can
reach
out
for
help,
but
checking
the
mail
following
the
instructions.
C
Some
people
are
going
to
be
automatically
renewed,
which
is
great,
and
that
simply
means
their
contact.
Information
is
correct.
Their
data
is
in
the
database
and
we
have
their
email
or
they
have
their
cell
phone
numbers
for
the
people
who
are
not
automatically
they're
going
to
have
to
complete
the
forms
they're
going
to
have
to
sign
the
forms
and
they're
going
to
have
to
have
proof
of
Eligibility
and
by
proof
I
mean
a
pay
stub.
They
could
use
their
federal
tax
return,
different
checks
that
prove
Inc
come
coming
into
their
their
households.
C
So
the
most
important
thing
is:
don't
ex
don't
ignore
that
piece
of
mail
when
it
comes
to
you.
B
B
Affect
medicare's
funding:
are
there
any
changes
to
Medicare
enrollment
and
eligibility
requirement
as
a
result
of
cover
19.
C
It
was
a
great
question.
As
we
know,
360
000
people
were
added
to
the
roles
that
we
didn't
expect
and
so
it
with
regard
to
funding.
C
It
was
significant
in
these
two
programs,
so
a
lot
of
dollars
and
the
federal
dollars
for
the
coveted
relief
were
being
used
in
Minnesota,
like
other
states,
to
cover
this
Gap.
You
know
when
we
think
about
Medicare.
C
The
program
had
to
do
a
lot
of
flexing
to
make
sure
that
people
could
could
be
flexible
in
in
a
place
where
it
was
very
rigid
and
the
pandemic
was
hurting
a
lot
of
people,
so
we
relaxed
some
of
the
requirements.
They
waived.
Some
of
the
prior
authorization
requirements
for
Part,
D
drug,
for
instance,
or
for
those
people
who
are
at
a
part
c
Medicare
Advantage
plans.
So
there
was
a
little
bit
of
flexibility
that
was
going
on
as
we
as
a
society
adapted
to
this
horrible
pandemic.
We
went
through.
B
B
C
For
those
people
Michael
who
are
a
little
tech
savvy,
they
can
go
to
the
State
website.
It's
a
really
handy
website.
It's
really
easy
to
navigate.
Mn.Gov
DHS
slash
my
contact
information.
If
you're
going
to
that
website,
you
can
put
in
your
case
number
you
can
put
in
your
account
number
and
you
have
those
two
pieces
of
information.
C
You
can
go
in
and
figure
out
what
month
you're
eligible
some
people
who
don't
have
that
ability
simply
contacting
their
County
reaching
out
to
the
county
that
they're
receiving
the
assistance
from
they
can
talk
to
a
caseworker.
They
can
talk
to
the
county
and
and
and
get
that
information.
But
the
most
important
thing
is
to
make
sure
that
the
county
has
your.
You
know,
address
phone
number
email
so
that
you
can
avoid
a
risk
in
coverage.
C
B
It's
coverage
for
Telehealth
service
and,
if
you
could
explain
what
that
mean
due
to
covid-19
pandemic,
if
so,
how
are
the
underserved
communities
of
color
like
the
Hmong
Community,
going
to
be
impacted
by
this
volumes.
C
Well,
Michael,
during
this
awful
time,
health
insurance
companies,
Medicare
different
programs,
decide
to
be
flexible
and
they
offered
more
Telehealth,
which
simply
means
I,
don't
have
to
go
in
to
a
clinic
to
be
seen
because
we
were
socially
distancing,
it
wasn't
safe.
It
allowed
us
to
have
a
telephone
call
with
a
provider
whether
it's
a
doctor,
a
specialist
or
maybe
a
mental
health
provider,
or
we
did
a
video
call
like
we're
doing
now
right
through
zoom,
and
so
we
absolutely
expanded
that,
and
so
they
they
have
these
options
available
to
people.
C
C
They
were
the
ones
that
were
able
to
take
advantage
of
this
and
it
hit
people
throughout
Minnesota,
but
I
think
it
hurt
communities
of
color,
far
greater
than
white
Community,
because
what
we
knew
is
that
children
were
going
to
school
before
and
they
had
their
devices
and
they
could
connect
to
Wi-Fi
at
school.
They
could
connect
in
in
libraries
in
community
centers
at
McDonald's
like
fast
food
and
because
of
the
pandemic.
B
Is
there
a
difference?
Is
there
a
different
renewal
process
for
medical
assistance,
renewals
and
Minnesota
care
Renewables.
C
Absolutely
those
individuals
who
are
on
Minnesota
care
their
process
is
going
to
start
in
October,
and
so
they
can
relax
this
summer.
They
will
be
reached
out.
You
know
in
August
and
September
for
an
October
renewal.
The
counties
will
do
that.
Renewal
in
October,
November
and
December
and
eligibility
will
start
January
1st.
C
If
people
are
still
eligible
for
medical
assistance,
it's
a
little
more
complicated
every
month,
we're
going
to
have
hundreds
of
thousands
of
people
gaining
access,
so
for
the
next
year
every
month
people
will
go
through
the
process
to
gain
access,
and
so
it's
simply
a
matter
of
of
getting
your
contact.
Information
updated
with
the
county
I
spoke
with
two
women
a
couple
weeks
ago
at
a
presentation
and
they're
getting
texts
from
the
county.
So
if
you
can
get
maybe
it's
an
adult
child
of
a
of
a
senior
or
maybe
a
friend.
B
C
Number
one
the
easiest
way
is:
if
they
can
go
online
at
mn.gov,
DHS
slash
my
contact
information.
They
can
handle
it
themselves
and
find
information
if
they're
stuck,
they
can
go
to
their
County
agency
and
reach
out
that
way
and
they
can
get
them
through
a
Google
search
or
the
last
ways.
If
folks,
who
are
older-
and
they
really
are
confused
the
number
above
my
head
800-333-2433-
we
would
be
glad
and-
and
it
would
be
our
pleasure
to
help
folks
navigate
a
complicated
situation.
B
Thank
you
so
much
for
joining
us
today.
I
know
you're
super
busy
coming
out
doing
all
this
work
without
elderly.
Please
extend
our
appreciation
from
the
city
as
well
as
the
Hmong
listeners
to
Trellis
and
the
work
that
you
do
with
senior
language
line
greatly
appreciate
it.
Thank.
B
B
B
D
The
parking
Minneapolis

just
take
a
bit
more
programs.
