Absolutely
the
trans
Equity
Summit
is
an
event
that
the
city
puts
on
every
year.
It's
for
Trans
and
gender
non-conforming
people
and
our
allies
everybody's
welcome
to
attend
and
it's
free
and
all
day,
an
opportunity
for
people
to
connect
to
resources
and
learning
opportunities
and
each
other,
and
this
year
it
is
tomorrow.
Friday
September,
16th
it'll,
be
oh,
am

Totally
so
this
is
gonna
be
the
first
year
since
2019
that
we're
bringing
all
of
the
in-person
parts
of
the
summit
back
in
person
and
we're
doing
kind
of
a
new
version
of
a
hybrid
Summit
this
year
that
we
haven't
done
before.
So
you
can
attend
everything
in
person,
but
also
all
of
our
workshops
will
be
hybrid.

We
have
a
really
extensive
career
and
resource
Fair
part
of
the
website
for
people
who
can't
come
in
person,
but
want
to
still
connect
to
all
of
those
opportunities,
and
virtual
participants
can
still
interact
in
all
parts
of
the
summit.
They're
not
just
going
to
be
like
sitting
and
watching
and
separate
from
the
rest
of
the
event
and
the
theme,
the
other
thing
I'll
say
this
year.

This
year's
theme
is
building
trans
power
because
well
things
have
never
been
great
legally
for
Trans
people.
We
know
that
this
year,
there's
been
a
lot
of
legislative
attacks
around
the
country
on
trans
rights
and
many
many
other
issues
and
we're
hoping
this
year's
Summit
gives
people
a
way
to
respond
to
these
attacks
and
build
Collective
power
together.

Totally
this
summer
is
going
to
start
with
a
keynote
by
Diamond
Styles
she's,
the
executive
director
of
black
Trans
women,
Inc
and
she's
a
producer
and
Creator
and
host
of
the
podcast
Marsha's
plate.
There's
going
to
be
like
I
mentioned
earlier,
a
career
in
resource
Fair.
Throughout
the
day
there
will
be
hybrid
workshops
and
there's
what
we're
calling
a
holistic
healing
and
aesthetic
space
for.
Anyone
who
wants
access
to
any
sort
of
like
Reiki
or
other
types
of
potential
support.

know
that
part
of
Trans,
Safety
and
healing
is
the
ability
to
care
for
our
bodies
how
we
need,
and
we
want
to
provide
space
for
that.
And
then
the
summit
will
end
with
an
intergenerational
panel,
highlighting
Youth
and
Elder
perspectives
and
performances
by
a
bunch
of
amazing
artists,
and
we're
going
to
have
I
should
have
said
this
earlier.
Free
lunch
in
the
middle
of
the
day
as
well
as
well
as
snacks
in
the
morning
during
registration
and
during
the
closing
reception.

folks
who
are
coming
in

be
back
in
person
with
people
again
and
I
love
the
performance
at
the
end
of
The,
Summit,
always
and
so
to
get

a
room

everybody
kind
of
celebrating
some
incredible
trans
artists
is
just
an
experience.

so
many
dreams
for
it.
I
I'm
really
excited
that
we're
able
to
offer
it
hybrid
this
year
to
make
it
more
accessible
to
more
people
and
also
people
who
might
not
be
able
to
travel
to
our
location
in
Minneapolis,
and
it's
going
to
be
imperfect
because
it's
the
first
year
so
I'm
really
excited
to
see
us
continue
to
grow.

ability
to
do
that
and
I'm
really
excited
to
see
us
continue
to
bring
in
more
and
more
Community
leaders
from
a
lot
of
different
communities
to
help
shape
the
summit
to
help
present
at
the
summit
and
to
really
make
sure
that
the
Summit
is
serving
all
of
the
different
folks
in
trans
community
and
gives
us
something
to
build
on
to
then
also
pass
policy
in
City
Hall.
That
benefits
all
of
the
different
members
of
our
trans
communities
as
well.

participate
in
the

the
work
that
you
have
done
in
the
year
that
you've
been
with
the
City
of
Minneapolis.

Hmong
individuals
who
participated
in
this
in
the
in
the
previous
conferences
have
what

were
their
thoughts,
where
you
hear
from
them,
specifically
among
individuals
and
young
people
or
whoever
they
are
they
participate
in
this
event,
why
are
you
learning.

One
of
the
folks
coordinating
that
this
year
works
for
transforming
Generations,
which
does
lgbtq
Equity
work
and
support
around
gender-based
violence,
specifically
in
Hmong
community
and
they've,
done
a
lot
of
incredible
work
to
make
sure
that
the
type
of
healing
offerings
we
have
in
that
space
are
culturally
rooted
and
culturally
relevant,
including
I,
believe
multiple
among
healers
who
are
providing
offerings
this
year.
So
we
have
had
a
lot
of
folks
involved.
I
would
really
love
to
connect
to
more
people
who
want
to
get
involved,
but
have
heard
really
great
feedback.
