American
with
disability
act
on
it,
when
you
showcase
all
American,
Disability
and.
A
B
E
They
are
welcome
to
you
back
on
the
show,
because
there's
a
lot
of
questions
and
concerns
people
still
have
about
evictions.
We
have
just
done
that
show
a
few
a
month
ago,
but
people
want
to
talk
about
that
more
so
welcome
to
the
show.
H
Thank
you
and
I'm
grateful
to
be
here.
We
are
housing
Liaisons
and
what
we
do
is
work
on
making
sure
families
are
in
safe,
livable,
comfortable
spaces.
B
E
H
The
very
first
thing
is
safety
and
when
I
say
safety,
I
mean
looking
for
smoke,
detectors
carbon
monoxide
detectors
and
being
able
to
get
out
of
a
your,
your
house
or
your
apartment
in
case
of
a
fire.
H
The
next
thing
you
should
look
for
is
the
general
condition
of
your
house
or
apartment.
There
should
not
be
any
chipping,
appealing
paint,
it
should
be
in
general,
repair
no
holes
in
the
walls
or
floors
or
split
or
Pace
places
where
rodents
can
come
in.
E
Yeah,
thank
you
so
much
Daryl
watch
over
there.
Please
give
your
full
response
and
then
I
will
translate
that
way
for
for
the
time,
because
we
have
time
sensitive,
sensitive
time
on
the
show
Daryl.
What?
If,
what,
if
someone's,
already
living
somewhere
and
and
they're
having
issue
with
the
conditions
in
in
the
property
that
they're
living
in.
H
If
you're
having
problems
with
your
with
your
property,
the
first
thing
you
should
do
is
put
in
a
request
in
writing
to
your
property
manager
or
your
property
owner.
H
The
second
thing
you
should
do
is
if,
if
that
does
not,
if
you
don't
get
any
relief
or
get
a
response
from
them
to
call
3-1-1,
and
when
you
contact
3-1-1,
a
city
inspector
or
a
fire
inspector,
a
housing
inspector
or
a
fire
inspector
will
come
out
and
look
at
the
conditions,
and
they
will
be
able
to
assess
the
issues
and
possibly
write
orders
for
correction.
B
E
H
Well,
if
there's
a
retaliation,
you
should
contact
the
housing
Liaisons
through
3-1-1
and
what
we'll
do
is
look
at
the
situation.
We
are
being
trained
as
mediators,
one
and
then
two.
If
we
can't
find
a
resolution,
we
will
refer
you
the
resident
to
one
of
our
partners,
I.E
legal
aid
or
home
line
or
the
the
volunteer
lawyers
Network.
B
B
E
Questions
on
that
during
that
time
that
this
family
has
been
infected
from
their
home
because
they've
they
complain
and
the
landlord
kick
them
out.
So
during
that
time
that
they're
waiting
for
legal
aid
or
resource
from
the
city
to
look
into
their
their
case
does
the
city
have
any
place
to
any
program
resource
to
help
find
housing.
During
that
time,
foreign.
H
The
first
thing
is
the
only
person
that
can
evict
you
in
this
process
is
you
have
to
go
through
a
court
action
that
means
you've
been
assigned
a
court
action
and,
and
you
go
to
court,
you
have
to
go
to
unlawful
detainer
court.
If
we
get
notified
that
that
this
may
happen,
what
we
will
do
is
intervene
immediately
and
kind
of
prioritize
that
getting
in
touch
with
an
attorney
or
legal
aid
or
the
volunteer
lawyers
Network
to
make
sure
you
do
not
move
until
you've
worked
this
process
through.
H
It's
very
important
that
you
just
don't
leave
you
have
rights
and
you
can
stay
there
as
long
as
we
work
through
you're
working
through
this
court
action.
E
They're
one
of
the
most
serious
repair
issues
that
we
people
in
Minnesota
and
county
is
our
heater
right
that,
especially
during
winter,
when
our
here
is
dead,
it's
done
and,
and
you
have
no
heat
you're
cold.
Are
there
policies
in
place
to
protect
families
who
don't
have
heat
and
to
get
the
heat
back
ASAP
as
soon
as
possible?.
H
Yes,
it's
important
that
they
have
heat
and
in
Minneapolis
all
rental
properties
must
have
heat
maintained
at
68
degrees
from
October
1st
through
April
30th.
It
must
be
maintained
to
68
degrees
if
your
heat
isn't
working.
The
first
thing
you
should
do
is
contact
the
property
owner
right
away.
If
the
property
owner
doesn't
respond,
you
can
contact
3-1-1
and
if
3-1-1
isn't
isn't
responding,
please
call
9-1-1.
We
have
inspectors
and
supervisors
that
monitor
the
those
those
calls
24
hours
after
hours.
H
Yes,
and
if
there's,
if
it
has
to
come
out-
and
they
have
to
make
repairs
on
those
systems,
the
property
owner
or
property
manager
should
provide
you
either
with
a
heat
source,
I.E
and
and
they're.
Very
we're,
we're
very
careful
to
say.
Space
heaters
should
not
be
used
all
the
time,
but
in
these
in
these
situations-
and
they
may
be
necessary,
they
can
provide
space
heaters.
We've
had
Property
Owners
put
residents
in
a
hotel
until
the
heat
is
repaired
or
made
those
kinds
of
of
concessions.
B
H
It's
also
important.
It's
also
important
that
you
do
not.
Please
do
not
leave
those
space
heaters
unattended
and
because
and
never
ever,
please
never
ever
use
your
stove
to
warm
your
property
or
your
home.
B
E
For
many
renters,
and
especially
members
of
the
Hmong
Community,
who
may
have
a
language
barrier
difficult
for
them
to
take
the
first
step
to
pick
up
a
phone
call
3-1-1
and
because
they
don't
know
how
to
operate
right,
they
don't
know
how
31
would
work,
whether
they're
afraid
they
have
not
done
it
before.
What
should
they
know
when
pick
up
the
phone
and
call
3-1-1?
What
should
they
know
ahead
of
time?.
H
Please
know
that
contacting
3-1-1
is
the
best
place.
311
has
access
to
translators
for
us,
so
we
can
make
sure
you
as
the
resident,
get
to
the
place
or
get
the
information
you
need.
It's
important
that
3-1-1
is
the
place
to
start
it
it.
It
sounds
like
it
may
be
a
challenge
in
terms
of
fear
of
not
being
understood,
but
we
are
there
and
we
actually
have
some
some
handouts
that
we
give
out
in
community
locations
that
talk
about
that
option.
Also.
E
H
There
are,
there
are
protections
for
when
you
rent,
there
are
screening
processes
in
place
and
your
criminal
history,
for
example.
You
cannot
deny
anyone
if
they
have
a
misdemeanor,
that
is
over
three
years
old.
They
can't
deny
you
for
rental
history,
they
credit
history,
for
example,
they
can't
say
you
have
to
have
a
minimum
credit
score,
but
if
a
property
owner
wants
to
use
a
strict
criteria,
then
they
must
allow
you
to
submit
more
information
on
your
application.
H
There
are
also
limits
on
how
much
a
property
owner
can
charge
for
security
deposit.
It
cannot
be
more
than
a
single
month's
rent
and
if
the
owner
asks
for
more
than
that,
it
cannot
be
more
than
50
percent
of
a
single
month's
rent
and
they
must
let
you
pay
that
50
percent
over
a
three
month
period.
E
B
H
In
Minneapolis,
prior
to
a
property
owner
or
a
property
manager
taking
you
to
court,
they
must
give
you
in
writing
a
14-day,
a
two-week
notice
for
non-payment
of
rent
and
in
that
14-day
notice.
This
is
before
they
go
to
court
to
file
an
unlawful
detainer
in
that
14-day
notice.
They
must
note
how
much
you
owe
how
much
your
back
grantee
is
and
what
it
would
take
and
what
the
total
cost
is
to
bring
your
rent
current.
E
Daryl,
where
can
renters
get
help
in
month?
Right?
They
don't
speak
English,
they
speak
more
and
they
need
to
get
help
from
someone
who
speak
the
language.
H
If
they
call
3-1-1
or
home
line
or
legal
aid,
they
can
ask
for
a
Hmong
interpreter
and
they
should
provide
those
for
you.
If
the.
If,
in
the
case
that
you
referred
to
one
of
us
in
terms
of
the
housing
liaison
team,
we
will
also
work
on
arranging
for
you
to
have
an
interpreter.
So
we
can
help
in
your
situation
and
help
address
your
challenges
in
your
housing
needs.
E
Thank
you
so
much
dear.
Do
you
have
anything
to
add
that
we
have
not
touched
on
for
our
listener
on
radio
all
right.
H
E
State
attorney
generals:
there
do
you
have
the
contact
number
for
that
for
for
the
State
Attorney
General's
office.
It's.
H
It's
I,
don't
have
it
in
front
of
me,
but
I
believe
it's
the
state
at
MN
Attorney
General's
office.
If
you
go
to
the
state
of
of
Minnesota's
website
and
type
in
attorney,
generals
or
housing
it'll.
Take
you
right
there.
Okay,.
E
Not
a
whole
Minnesota
attorney
generals.
E
Thank
you
so
much
to
you
know
to
Daryl
my
friend,
my
colleague
at
the
City
of
Minneapolis,
who
always
come
out
and
do
the
best
that
you
can
to
give
us
the
information
that
we
need,
especially
during
this
time,
is
going
toward
fall
and
then
the
the
winter
is
coming
up.
So
housing
and
evictions
are
very
very
issue,
important
issues
that
that
are
in
the
Hmong
Community,
which
I
don't
know.
E
Love
to
have
you
come
back
again,
thank
you
to
you
and
your
whole
team
for
the
awesome
work
that
you
guys
are
doing
for
all
the
residents
in
the
City
of
Minneapolis.
Take
care
of
my
friends.
Thank.
