Description
Understand the purpose and details of the Green Zones Summit as part of the Community Connections Conference and the Green Zones billboard competition for youth to increase awareness of the Green Zones initiative.
A
B
B
A
A
B
B
A
C
B
B
A
B
Soon
so
she
can
be
able
to
talk,
but
you
know,
as
always,
I
want
to
share
some
things.
I
don't
share
a
lot
of
information
because
it's
a
lot
of
different
stuff,
but
I
think
what
I
try
to
share
is
the
most
important
information
to
people
and,
as
you
listen
weekly
since
we're
going
on
weekly
for
this
month.
B
One
of
the
things
that
I
really
wanted
to
promote
minneapolis
is
the
fact
of
the
listening
sessions
that
are
taking
place
for
the
new
police
chief
of
minneapolis
councilwoman
vital,
has
been
organizing
these
meetings
in
community.
I
actually
went
to
the
first
one
at
falwell
park
and
it's
a
listing
session
y'all,
so
you
can
be
able
to
weigh
in
kim
and
and
give
ideas
and
thoughts
about
what
your
new
police
chief
looks
like.
A
B
Right,
so
there
is
one
today
y'all,
so
I
just
want
to
make
sure
that
that
you
guys
are
clear.
There's
only
two
left
to
have
your
chances
to
be
able
to
listen
in
or
give
some
thoughts
to
the
new
police
chief.
So
six
to
seven
thirty
tonight
at
logan
park,
building,
69,
690,
13th
avenue
northeast
and
then
next
week
at
mlk
building
tuesday
may
3rd.
You
can
be
able
to
go
there
and
really
be
able
to
weigh
in
on
it.
I
think
that's
important.
A
B
But
the
brother
is
definitely
missed,
but
minneapolis
you,
you
have
a
chance
to
weigh
in
on
what
that
looks
like
your
new
police
chief.
So
I
just
want
to
make
sure
again
there's
one
tonight
at
logan
park
and
then
next
tuesday
may
3rd
at
mlk
both
start
at
six.
I
was
actually
at
the
first
one
and
it
really
went
well,
so
I
just
want
to
make
sure
that
you
guys
get
that
information
and
understand
how
to
participate,
but
listen.
B
A
lot
of
you
guys,
don't
know
about
the
green
zones
and
the
green
zone
summit
and
a
lot
of
you
do.
The
green
zones
is
a
beautiful
organization
led
by
community
members.
I
am
lucky
enough
to
be
a
part
of
that
task
force
and
they
do
great
work.
A
lot
of
it
is
environmental
justice.
They
address
issues
in
north,
northeast,
south
minneapolis
and
design
and
implement
plans
of
action.
A
lot
of
you
know
about
some
of
the
northern
metals
things
that's
been
happening
in
our
city.
B
They
have
been
a
big
part
of
bringing
justice
to
that
and
making
sure
that
they
hold
northern
metals
accountable.
A
lot
of
great
people
that
are
part
of
that
leslie
jackson,
kelly
mullman,
lelanda,
lee
roxanne
o'brien,
and
I
say
these
names
out
loud
because
these
people
are
always
doing
work
in
communities.
So
I
always
want
to
make
sure
that
I
give
them
the
opportunity
to
let
them
know
how
they
appreciate
it.
B
But
this
is
something
that's
major
minneapolis
and
it's
called
the
green
zone
summit
now
may
21st
this
year
is
the
community
connections
conferences
and
it's
our
signature
flagship
conference
at
the
community
center.
I
want
to
give
a
quick
shout
out:
not
the
community
center,
I'm
sorry
the
convention
center.
B
We
have
been
gone
for
two
years
kim
at
this
conference
that
we
put
on
in
our
department
right
yeah,
and
this
year
is
the
first
year
without
it
that's
with
it,
because
we've
been
allowed
for
a
long
time,
beautiful
vendors
there's
a
lot
of
entertainment.
We've
had
some
community
conversations
around
public
safety
around
housing
around
youth,
about
government
we've
had
over
a
thousand
people
attend
this
conference
right.
So
listen.
I
want
to
give
a
plug
to
that
and
I'll
talk
a
little
bit
about
that
next
week,
but
in
conjunction
with
our
community
connections
conference.
B
There's
a
green
zone
summit,
that's
happening
in
the
same
building
and
it
is
free.
It
is
wonderful,
and
I
want
to
really
invite
the
person
to
talk
about
this
the
most
because
she
has
been
a
big
part
of
making
this
happen,
and
I
want
to
introduce
leslie
jackson
to
the
show
leslie's
sister,
how
you
doing
welcome
to
minneapolis
360.
C
Thank
you,
anthony
and
kim
for
having
me
today,
I'm
just
excited
and
thrilled
to
be
here
to
share
information
about.
What's
going
on
in
our
community,
we're
excited
to.
C
Well,
we
meet
once
a
month
recently
we've
been
zooming,
it
zoom
meetings
and
different
conversations
through
email.
The
thought
itself
came
from
michael
chaney
he's
the
founder
of
sweetie
pies.
Everyone
knows
in
minneapolis,
but
we
voted
on
it
as
a
group,
the
north
side
and
the
south
side
to
move
forward
on
the
project
for
this
year
and
in
doing
so,
the
community
connection
had
reached
out
to
us,
and
so
we
partnered
with
them-
and
we
are
super
excited,
and
so
a
lot
of
planning
is
going
on.
C
B
We
are
talking
with
leslie
jackson,
green
zone
member
leader
of
this
summit,
one
of
the
leaders
of
this
summit
again
saturday
may
21st
at
the
convention
center
hall
b,
first
floor,
10-3
leslie,
and
you
talk
about
the
green
zones
like
what
can
people
expect
right
like
give
people
like
some
idea
of
what
green
zones
mean?
I
know
a
lot
of
times.
Folks,
don't
know
what
that
is,
but
people
are
involved
in
environmental
justice
and
a
lot
of
different
things
around
this
city,
but
talk
about
what
to
expect
and
what
exactly
is
a
green
zone?.
C
We
are
overburdened
and
with
that
it
comes
from
disparities,
health,
loss
of
jobs,
hopelessness
and
things
like
that
and
so
being
involved
with
the
green
zones.
We
make
a
change
and
we
fight
for
these
injustices.
Right
now
we
have
an
air
monitoring
program
that
we
are
working
with
the
minneapolis
pollution
control.
C
James
trice
has
another
entity
of
air
monitoring
going
on
for
businesses,
so
we're
all
active
and
involved
with
air
monitoring
from
the
north
side
to
the
south
side,
and
please
reach
out
to
your
council
members
or
even
even
on
the
pollution
control
to
be
involved
with
the
air
monitoring,
because
it's
very
important
for
the
air
and
the
contaminants
and
particulars
that
we
breathe.
So
we
have
that
going
on
and
that's
the
entity
that
we
invite
the
public
to
be
involved
in
and
engaged
in.
C
So
we
also
have
michelle
shaw
that
has
boulevard
gardens,
and
so,
if
you
like,
to
have
a
fruit
and
vegetable
and
flower
garden
in
front
of
your
home
and
because
of
the
food
deserts
that
we
do
have
in
minneapolis,
you
can
grow
your
own
fruits
and
vegetables,
and
michelle
will
be
more
than
happy
to
come
out
and
help
and
assist
you
with
a
group
of
people
as
well
as
cooking
lessons
for
some
of
those
good
veggies
she's.
A
good.
C
C
Yeah,
and
so
we
have
roxanne,
she
also
has,
besides
passing
out
a
healing
kit.
She
has
an
environmental
justice
tour
and
it
goes
to
all
these
different
entities
that
contaminate
our
city
from
from
the
highway
94
being
built
to
the
northern
metals
and
herc,
and
some
other
things
which
is
great
and
you
get
a
lunch
break.
So
roxanne
is
doing
marvelous
jobs
to
let
people
know
where
these
locations
are
and
how
they
affect
us.
And
then
we
have
yolanda
with
the
healing
circle
and
she
expanded
to
the.
U.
C
She
had
opening
for
internships
for
our
youth
to
work
with
her
in
this
floor,
mat
and
so
she's,
working
diligently
with
the
university
of
minnesota
for
our
healing
circle
that
came
out
of
green
zones.
So
we
have
a
lot
of
things
coming
from
people
that
don't
know
that
they
have
these
great
people
in
our
community,
our
next
door,
neighbors
that
are
fighting
to
have
a
solid
same
sense
of
human
life
and
dignity
as
we
fight
these
different
injustices.
C
So
the
green
zones
is
some
something
that
everybody
in
every
community
across
the
nation
should
be
involved
in
to
make
a
change,
because
it's
connected
it's
not
just
over
in
this
area.
Everything
connects
the
air,
the
water,
the
soil
and
it
blows
you'd
be
like
oh
they're,
exploring
some
of
that
dirt
came
from
probably
all
the
way
from
africa,
so
things
blow
and,
and
we
get
affected
by
our
health
by
breathing
these
entities.
C
B
B
B
You
talk
about
the
the
green
zones
and
and
how
we
only
got
one
earth
right
and
we
need
to
protect
it,
and
we
also
only
have
one
body
right
so
being
able
to
go
to
this
summit
you're
able
to
talk
to
a
lot
of
different
people
who
are
involved
in
in
this
work
and
really
be
able
to
educate
yourself
on
exactly
what's
going
on
around
you
and
not
just
you
know
the
earth,
but
some
of
these
companies
and
organizations
that
put
some
of
this
garbage
into
the
air
too
right.
C
Exactly
so,
herc
will
be
there.
We
have
invited
the
recycling
entity
association,
there's
a
lot
of
people
from
mental
health
to
the
health,
the
soil,
all
entities,
the
city.
You
know
some
entities
from
the
county
and
that's
what
the
green
zones
we're
holding
them
accountable.
We're
building
this
summit
to
build
together
to
know
who's
who,
so
we
can
have
a
stronger
force
to
hold
these
people,
the
city,
the
county,
accountable
for
the
contaminants
that
they
allow,
that
industry
puts
upon
us,
we're
being
taxed
for
plastic
bags
and
and
then
nobody
recycles
them.
C
So
if
you
got
garbage
or
something
in
it,
it's
going
to
hurt
and
guess
what
that
plastic
leg,
you're
breathing
it
so
enjoy
it.
While
you
have
it
because
your
shoe
will
be
enjoying
it
through
your
body,
okay,
so
you
get
the
full
benefit
of
all
these
different
plastics
and
contaminants
that
are
going
on.
C
And
if
you
look
in
a
crystal
glass
of
that
water,
it
is
so
clear
and
but
I'd
like
to
you
know
it's
because
of
the
contaminants
that
we
get
from
herc
and
these
ashes
that
come
from
that
it's
in
our
soil,
our
water
and
on
our
skin
and
people
are
not
aware
of
it.
So,
yes,
it's
more
than
covet
out
there,
yeah
yeah.
C
B
Because
you
activate
it
real
quick
when
I
talked
about
putting
some
of
that
stuff
in
the
air
and
that's
your
passion
around
this
work
right
and
again
we're
talking
with
leslie
jackson,
northside
green's
own
task
force
leader.
So
you
know
leslie
like
like
this,
this
competition
right
and
we
had
talked
earlier
before
the
show
and
how
you
are
super
excited
about
this
green
zone.
Billboard
design,
competition
coming
and
I
I
know
the
work
that
you've
been
putting
in
because
I've
been
I've
talked
to
you.
I've
seen
the
emails
that
you're
sending.
B
I
really
encourage
you
to
just
talk
about
that
right.
What
is
this
billboard
design
competition
and
what's
what's
the
what's,
the
purpose.
C
I
came
up
with
a
billboard
and
wanted
to
put
a
message
out
and
I
brought
it
to
the
zones
and
we
were
like
undecided,
and
so
I
said,
let's
take
it
to
the
to
the
youth.
So
I
created
this
contest
for
the
youth
to
have
their
view
of
environmental
justice
on
a
billboard,
but
not
only
that
all
the
work
that's
being
submitted
by
the
youth
on
the
south
side
and
north
side
of
minneapolis
in
the
green
zone
area
is
only
18
to
15
years
old
and
we're
only
expecting
a
hundred
entries.
C
Each
entry
will
be
entered
into
the
first
environmental
green
zones,
coloring
book
history,
coloring
book.
I
have
partnered
in
working
with
minnesota
historical
society,
as
well
as
the
sierra
club,
to
create
this
book
so
we're
putting
in
the
history
of
minneapolis
from
plymouth
avenue
to
honeywell
shutting
down
to
the
different
environmental
active
activists
that
we
have
in
our
community
that
people
don't
even
know
about.
So
that's
a
part
of
it
as
well
as
we're
creating
the
first
environmental
justice
directory.
C
So
who
knows
who,
in
this
entity
of
climate
change
and
air
monitoring
and
all
these
different
programs
that
the
city
has
to
offer
we're
creating
the
first
directory
and
using
that
youth
artwork
to
be
the
header
or
the
footer,
as
well
as
a
t-shirt
that
we
have
somebody
creating
the
t-shirts
for
the
green
zones
and
it
gets
even
better.
I
partner
with
minneapolis
college
arts
and
design,
and
they
will
be
the
judges,
so
all
green
zone,
members,
children
and
family
and
friends
can
be
entered
in
the
contest
my
family
there
to
hold
for
it.
C
So
it's
a
good
thing
and
then
also
as
well,
I'm
working
on
a
pathway
to
create
for
these
children
to
attend
summer
programs.
So
I
have
a
proposal
out
there
and
with
the
college,
we
are
trying
to
create
a
pathway
for
them
to
continue
their
education
in
art.
So
the
green
zones
is
creating
an
educational
path
for
these
kids
to
have
a
first-hand
experience
in
colleges
where
they
never
may
be
thought
about
where
their
artwork
will
be
seen
and
judged
by
professional
art
teachers,
and
I'm
also
at
trying
to
act.
C
Working
with
them
to
be
able
to
have
an
art
exhibit
open
for
all
the
city
to
come
in
and
walk
into
the
space.
So
they
can
see
the
so
they
can
see
the
work
of
the
students.
B
C
I
just
want
to
say
one
thing:
the
contest
itself.
I
have
posted
it
on
facebook,
we've
we
reached
out
to
channel
11
channel
9
channel
5
camel
j.
I
heart
radio
kfi,
the
city,
everybody
has
it.
Posters
are
all
over
the
place
and
I
want
all
the
kids
to
really
put
in
you
know
put
in
their
thoughts
about
this.
B
Opportunity
not
to
cut
you
up,
but
we
got
a
caller,
so
you
you
want
to
take
oh
and
that
caller
just
hung
up,
and
I
wanted
to
get
that
caller
in,
because
I
knew
that
there
was
probably
something
important
that
they
wanted
to
say
about
the
green.
No,
that's
fine,
because
you
know
you're
giving
people
information
and
caller.
If
you
I
want
to
call
back,
we've
got
about
eight
minutes
left
in
the
show,
so
just
call
back
if
you
can
and
ask
leslie
just
to
kind
of
maybe
get
this
into.
B
B
C
The
city
of
minneapolis
needs
to
heal
and
all
eyes
will
continue
on
us
and
it's
important
for
me
that
our
children
heal,
because
they
are
our
future
and
to
give
these
created
talented
minds
something
to
do
besides
living
in
hope
and
despair
and
not
knowing,
if
somebody's
going
to
drive
by
or
somebody's
going
to
rob
them
or
anything
that
we've
been
living
through
because
of
all
the
things
that
has
happened
in
our
city.
C
It's
a
pathway
for
healing,
and
I
want
our
youth
to
heal
because
they're
my
future
and
they're
creative
and
they're,
talented
minneapolis
is
a
beautiful
place
and
we
have
beautiful
people
here
to
spirit.
Despite
everything
that's
happened
and
giving
back
to
the
youth
is
very
important
for
us
to
to
continue
to
grow,
to
give
them
some
chance
in
some
life.
Somebody
gave
me
a
break
in
a
full
scholarship
to
the
university
of
minnesota.
I'm
an
environmental
scientist.
B
C
Back
to
the
community
growing
up
with
the
russell
and
anderson
home.
Yes,
I
grew
up
with
with
andre
simone
terry
jackson,
prince
linda
anderson,
charles
charles
smith,
and
that
entity
watching
bernadette
leroy
jackson,
glenn
glenda
jackson,
my
aunt
and
my
family.
That
was
my
extended
family
and
their
pioneers
of
making
change
and
make
it
happen
and
give
people
dreams
to
follow
their
dreams.
They
had
a
dream.
I
have
a
dream,
we
all
have
dreams.
C
You
got
to
follow
your
dream,
no
matter
what
and
I'm
just
thankful
that
I
am
able
to
use
my
degrees
to
make
a
pathway
for
my
community
and
giving
back.
I
asked
for
nothing,
but
just
just
a
smile
and
making
a
difference
in
our
community
for
our
youth.
I
thank
you
guys
for
your
time
and
I
know
we're
running
out.
I.
C
So
it's
just
it's
just
important
and
we're
called
minneapolis
environmental
justice
syndicate.
We
consist
of
five
green
zone
members.
Two
members
are
from
the
community
environmental
advisory
commission.
I
have
sylvia
amos.
I
also
have
environmental
initiative,
minnesota
historical
society,
sierra
club
and
minneapolis
college
of
arts
and
design,
and
we
make
up
minneapolis
environmental
justice,
art
syndicate
and
we're
moving
forward
together
for
change
for
our
for
our
children
and
our
youth
and
we're
all
volunteers
and
we
collaborate
together
and
that's
what
a
syndicate
does
and
we're
making
boss
moves.
Okay,
okay,.
A
A
Man,
I'm
sitting
here
like
leslie,
don't
hang
up
before
this
because.
B
I
need
to
talk
to
you
and
and
leslie
and
again
we're
talking
with
with
leslie
jackson
green
zone
task
force.
Leader
talked
a
lot
about
the
green
zone
summit.
You'll
be
a
part
of
that
leslie
you've
been
involved
in
the
planning,
and
I
just
really
wanted
to
thank
you
again
may
21st
at
the
convention
center
from
10-3
a
lot
of
those
folks
that
you
mentioned
will
be
there
and
one
thing
as
we,
you
know,
wrap
up
this
show
with
the
last.
You
know
five
minutes
leslie.
B
A
C
I
had
to
go
between
the
two
houses
to
sleep.
It
was
crazy,
I
mean
that's
what
they
did.
Their
thing
was
music
mine
was
being
mine,
was
the
wood,
so
I'm
the
scientist
I
used
to
get
called
woodsy
out
so
see
what
it
would
be.
Obviously,
the
names-
and
here
I
am
but
growing
up
with
those
guys-
is
just
like
anybody
else.
We
were
kids
and
they
practice
at
their
craft
and
and
they
and
and
they
they
that's
what
they
did
and
it
wasn't
just
them.
C
I
was
like
the
door
keeper
terry
lewis,
jimmy
jam
alexander
o'neal,
cherelle,
everybody.
Anybody
in
the
music
jelly
bean
batman.
Everybody
came
to
that
between
the
two
houses
they
ate
there,
they
hung
out
there.
We
were
family,
you
know
it's
like.
If
you
see
when
you
see
the
other
one,
I
mean
from
the
sports
football
baseball,
basketball,
andre
play,
you
know
they
all
played
basketball
ice
skated
every
linda
was
on
a
cheerleading
team.
We
were
kids,
we
were
north
side,
I
mean
you,
see
one
you
seen
them
all.
C
We
walked
each
other
home
and
different
things.
We,
you
know,
kids
fought,
argue
loved
each
other,
you
know
be
mad,
we
were
a
family
and
we
still
are.
We
still
love
each
other.
We
still
just
like
you
and
your
family
yeah.
You
know
so
we're
family
and
we
will
always
be
family
and
I'm
happy
and
I'm
very
proud
of
those
guys,
even
though
they
owe
me
back
pay
for
carrying
all
that
stuff.
C
But
you
know
I'm
just
happy
and
proud
of
them,
and
I'm
glad
that
you
know
I
was
able
to
be
a
part
of
their
life
and
them
as
mine
and
and
the
influences
and
the
drive
and
passion.
So
not
only
minneapolis
had
so
many
firsts.
My
uncle
was
the
first
black
women's
civil
rights
attorney.
My
other
uncle
terry
jackson's.
Dad
was
the
first
hennepin
county
attorney.
You
know,
so
I
come
from
a
lot
of
firsts
and
the
drive
and
the
admiration
that
the
city
has
and
the
support
that
we
give
our
community.
A
B
C
B
Yeah
you
know
I
I
appreciate
you
leslie,
for
coming
on
and
and
and
wrapping
that
up.
Just
with
that
comment,
because
I
think
is
is
so
true,
you
know,
minneapolis
is
a
special
place.
You
drink
the
water
and
all
of
a
sudden.
B
I
think
you
just
you
just
feel
some
type
of
way
and
I'm
a
person
that
moved
up
here
over
20
years
and
have
not
20
years
ago
and
haven't
left
so
and
being
able
to
work
with
people
like
you
and
all
the
people
that
you
mentioned
is
is
truly
a
great
joy
to
be
a
part
of
so
again
minneapolis
the
green
zone
summit
happening
may
21st
10-3
at
the
convention
center,
it
is
free,
lunch
is
free,
the
knowledge
is
free,
the
game
is
free.
You
can't
even
pay
for
that.
C
A
B
A
B
In
minneapolis
the
last
thing
I'll
say
before
we
wrap
it
up,
because
I
know
that
time
is
short.
There
is
a
lot
of
smart
og
people.
That's
in
this
community,
that's
working
doing
a
work
around
environmental
justice
will
be
there.
So
I'd
please
be
able
to
attend.
It's
free
10
to
3
may
21st
at
the
convention
center
y'all.
So
all
right
don't
be
playing,
don't
play
about
it,
don't
play
about
them.
Tickets.
A
Right
on
the
way
next
is
mr
william:
bake
show
baker,
mr
ditty
in
the
city.
Mr
can't,
stop,
won't
stop,
don't
stop
mr,
have
it
all
and
he
is
peeping
his
head
through
the
door
to
see.
If
I
said
it
right,
look
he'll
be
on
me.
Don't
do
y'all
he'd,
be
on
me
plus
he
got
a
birthday
coming
up
what
all
right
twin
cities,
one
love,
kings
and
queens
until
next
time.
