public
has
the
chance
to
weigh
in
on
mayor
Betsy
Hodges
proposed
2018
city
budgets.
There
will
be
public
hearings
at
City
Hall
on
November
29th
and
December
6.
The
City
Council
is
scheduled
to
vote
on
the
roughly
one
point:
four
billion
dollar
budget
following
the
public
hearing
on
December
6
turnout
at
the
polls
was
strong
for
the
2017
municipal
election.
Voter
turnout
was
42
percent
this
year
compared
to
34
percent
in
2013
for
the
last
municipal
election.

The
city
also
had
record
early
voting
this
year
with
more
than
11
thousand
ballots
accepted
in
2013,
nearly
5000
people
cast
early
ballots,
Minneapolis
business
leaders,
city
officials
and
the
public
celebrated
the
opening
of
the
new
Nicollet
on
November
16th.
The
street
is
now
a
greener,
brighter
and
more
user-friendly
Main
Street
for
downtown
Minneapolis.
The
new
Nicollet
features
the
city's
largest
display
of
public
art
outside
of
the
minneapolis
sculpture
garden.
