the
city
council
has
approved
an
ordinance
establishing
a
community
Commission
on
police
oversight.
The
measure
is
designed
to
enhance
civilian
oversight
of
the
police
department
by
streamlining
the
current
process
and
improving
transparency.
The
civilian
commissioner's
work
will
take
place
during
public
meetings.
There
will
be
15
members,
13
appointed
by
the
city
council,
one
per
Ward
and
two
appointed
by
the
mayor.

will
join

hour
to
promote
economic
inclusion
and
reduce
economic
and
racial
disparities.

city's
Department
of
Civil
Rights
can
help
workers
recover
back
wages
and
penalties
in
any
type
of
wage
theft
that
occurs
within
city
limits.
