Council
and
mayor
Betsy
Hodges
have
declared
June
2017
LGBT
Pride
Month
in
Minneapolis
this
year's
Twin
Cities
Pride
Festival
will
be
held,
June
24th
and
25th
in
Loring
Park.
The
I-35w
bridge
will
be
lit
in
rainbow
colors
that
weekend
a
proposed
ordinance
establishing
a
$15
an
hour.
Minimum
wage
in
Minneapolis
is
working
its
way
through
the
City
Council
approval
process.
Large
businesses
would
have
four
years
to
implement
the
wage
in
smaller
businesses
would
be
given
more
time.
A
public
hearing
will
be
held,
Thursday
June,
22nd
and
the
council
will
take
a
final
vote.
A
Friday
June
30th
crews
are
repainting
crosswalks
throughout
the
city
to
enhance
pedestrian
safety.
Parallel
line
markings
are
being
replaced
with
zebra
stripe
crossings
because
they
are
easier
to
see
and
make
people
more
comfortable.
Using
crosswalks,
approximately
3000
mark
crosswalks
will
be
repainted.
A
City
Hall
will
become
Kitty
Hall
on
Tuesday
June,
27,
Minneapolis,
Animal,
Care
and
Control
will
feature
18
kittens
in
the
rotunda.
Three
older
cats
will
run
for
Minneapolis
Kitty
council
president.
The
public
can
cast
a
vote
for
their
favorite
feline
candidate
at
the
event
or
online.
All
cats
and
kittens
at
Kitty
Hall
will
be
available
for
adoption
for
more
City
