City
leaders
are
moving
forward,
a
campaign
called
vision,
zero
aimed
at
ending
traffic
deaths
and
injuries
on
Minneapolis
streets.
Within
ten
years
the
city
will
start
working
on
an
action
plan
that
will
put
equity
at
the
forefront
and
focus
on
the
roadways
most
vulnerable
users,
pedestrians
and
bicyclists.
Several
other
cities
across
the
country
have
adopted
vision,
zero
policies,
mayor,
Betsy,
Hodges,
proposed
2018
city
budget,
is
now
moving
through
the
City
Council
approval
process.
The
budget
includes
a
five
point:
five
percent
property
tax
levy
increase
for
2018.
A
Some
highlights
include
six
million
dollars
for
clean
energy,
24
million
dollars
in
housing,
investments
and
four
million
dollars
in
new
public
safety
strategies.
Sample
ballots
are
now
available
for
the
November
7th
election
on
the
city's
website.
Minneapolis
voters
can
enter
their
address
and
a
lookup
tool
and
find
their
sample
ballot
for
their
precinct.
Voters
will
use
ring
choice,
voting
to
elect
a
mayor
and
members
of
the
City
Council
board
of
estimate,
taxation
in
the
Park
and
Recreation
Board
for
