new
public
artworks
will
be
installed
throughout
Minneapolis.
This
fall,
including
two
new
pieces
on
Nicollet
Mall
artist,
Tristan
all
had
odds
and
Nimbus
will
be
installed
in
front
of
the
Central
Library.
The
cantilevered
piece
will
hover
over
the
theater
in
the
round
on
Nicollet.
On
the
other
end
of
Nicollet
George
Morrison's
tableau,
a
Native
American
mosaic
has
been
reinstalled
on
Nicollet
at
the
entrance
to
the
Lauren
Greenway
visit.
The
city's

residents
have
opportunities
to
provide
feedback
on
Mayor
Jacob
Fry's
recommended
2019
city
budget.

The
City
Council
has
approved
expanding
an
innovative
strategy
to
preserve
naturally
occurring
affordable
housing
in
Minneapolis
participants
in
the
Minneapolis
for
D,
affordable
housing
incentive
program
pledged
to
keep
at
least
20%
of
their
building
units
affordable
for
10
years.
In
exchange,
property
owners
are
eligible
for
a
40
percent
reduction
in
property
taxes.
They
are
also
eligible
for
grant
funding
from
the
city
and
free
and
low-cost
energy
assessments
for
more
city
