1. Free lead testing events

2. Animal Care & Control extended Thursday hours
The City’s animal shelter is extending its evening hours on Thursdays.
Minneapolis Animal Care & Control’s weekday adoption hours are 1-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Thursday hours are extended. Arrive by 7:00 pm to complete your adoption.

3. The MPLS Parking app

Department with your City of Minneapolis minute Minneapolis, you can get your child tested for lead for free. The Minneapolis Health Department is bringing its mobile Testing Lab to several neighborhoods. It's called Letty Eddy. A blood test is the only way to know if your child has lead poisoning which can cause serious health issues. There are five testing dates through October, including West, Broadway, open streets and Mexican Independence Day. The city's animal shelter is extending its evening hours on Thursdays, Minneapolis, Animal, Care and controls hours are 1 to 5 PM Monday through Friday.

The extra two and a half hours on Thursdays will replace the once a month Saturday pet adoption hours. The extra hours are part of the shelter's ongoing effort to address a severe increase in animal intake. If you're heading downtown or around town, you should notice blue parking meter signage.
