Caption: In response to community input, we've increased our 311 services & extended Traffic Control operations to better serve you:

* You can now use the Minneapolis 311 App to report non-emergency theft, property damage, and parking issues.

* We've extended our Traffic Control hours to 24/hours a day, Monday through Friday. This pilot ensures residents can get specialized unarmed support - as an alternative to police - to resolve minor traffic issues overnight.

Previously, Traffic Control staff only worked daylight hours on weekdays, so when residents called about a parking issue overnight, the police were the only ones available to help. We learned the community wanted our help 24 hours a day, so we have extended our hours overnight. This allows police to focus on emergency issues while we can give you the specialized service you need for any non-emergency parking issues.

Meet Cheyenne and Farhia, members of the Neighborhood and Community Relations team. NCR ensures city programs and services are accessible to people of all backgrounds, building relationships with community members, and relaying important information that all should have access to.

In this educational video, learn all about your city's newest unarmed safety responses that have been co-designed with community. In addition to the new Behavioral Crisis Unit that dispatches mental health professionals through 911, we have provided additional mental health training for 911 staff to ensure you can get the right help you need. Looking ahead, we will be embedding mental health professionals in 911 to support people in-the-moment as response arrives. #IAMMPLS

Meet Shamso, a Minneapolis Behavioral Crisis Responder. The BCR is a new team of first responders in the City who handle emergency, nonviolent mental health situations through the 911 system.
