When
I
was
growing
up,
I
really
wanted
to
be
a
doctor
so
that
I
could
help
people
and
contribute
to
improving
health
disparities,
especially
for
black
and
brown
folks.
But
my
path
led
me
to
opi
hi,
I'm
gina
and
I'm
a
program
manager
in
the
minneapolis
office
of
performance
and
innovation.
Some
of
the
most
important
work
that
our
team
is
doing
right
now
focuses
on
alternatives
to
police
response
for
mental
health
related
issues
along
with
how
residents
report
non-emergency
issues
to
the
city.
A
So
when
we
get
a
new
project,
we
start
by
doing
some
planning
all
together
to
figure
out
how
we
want
to
do
our
community
workshops
where
we
really
bring
the
people
who
are
most
impacted
by
the
issues,
so
that
we
can
really
understand
the
experiences
of
everyone
and
really
have
the
community
help
us
build
those
solutions.
The
most
rewarding
part
of
my
job
is
being
able
to
see
the
impact
that
our
work
has,
since
it's
happening
within
the
communities
that
I
live
and
have
grown
up.
In
my
whole
life,
I
am
minneapolis.
