Description
The Walton One presentation.
A
Alright,
mayor
and
council,
it's
my
pleasure
to
be
here
tonight
to
give
you
an
update
on
our
one
wantin
project.
I'm
Stacy,
Jones
and
I've,
been
a
member
of
the
planning
and
the
process
of
working
on
the
one
Walton
project
representing
the
Monroe,
downtown
development
authority
and
I'm
pleased
tonight
to
bring
back
240
we're
going
to
go
through
a
couple
of
screens.
So
you
may
just
want
to
flip
around
and
look
there.
You
have
copies
in
front
of
you
as
well
to
reference
later
when
it
comes
to
developing
a
memorable
community
brand.
A
Uncovering
what
makes
your
city
special
is
not
enough.
Often
a
community's
distinct
and
defining
characteristic
is
simply
well.
It's
not
distinct
with
tens
of
thousands
of
cities
across
the
country,
there's
sure
to
be
a
lot
of
overlap.
So
our
real
challenge
lie
in
creating
a
really
memorable,
creative
context
in
which
to
present
our
point
of
difference.
When
we
talk
about
one
Walton
or
Walton
County
as
a
whole,.
A
All
right,
so,
when
we
started
this
progress,
we
work
for
the
company
called
North
Star
and
we
did
a
lot
of
visiting
with
people
throughout
the
community.
We
asked
a
lot
of
questions.
You
know,
who
is
it
that
we're
trying
to
reach?
We
asked
not
only
people
here
in
Walton,
County
and
Monroe
and
all
the
different
cities,
but
we
also
talked
to
those
who
are
our
competitors.
We
talked
to
state
and
local
economic
developers.
A
That
gives
you
the
freedom
to,
and
this
is
the
jumping-off
point,
what
we
knew
was
unique
about
those
we
had
space,
we
have
a
slower
pace
and
that
people
were
drawn
and
attracted
to
those
qualities.
So
what
do
you
have
the
freedom
to
do
here
in
Walton
County?
Well,
certainly
it
with
freedom
to
have
the
quality
of
life
where
you
can
achieve
the
preferred
life
balance
that
you're
looking
for
there's
freedom
not
to
be
limited
in
your
choices.
A
There's
freedom
to
grow
your
family,
your
business
and
your
life
here,
a
freedom
to
build
or
expand
your
business
with,
but
it's
of
land
on
and
on
so
jumping
from
there.
What
was
it
and
how
would
we
describe
this?
Freedom
well,
basically
became
too
it's
a
basic
need
for
any
form
of
life.
Kids.
Do
it
dogs
do
it
and
even
plants?
Do
it
it's
something!
That's
inherent
in
all
of
us.
It's
a
base
necessity,
that's
almost
as
important
as
eating
sleeping
and
breathing
gets
somehow
it's
something.
A
This
quiet
community
offers
plenty
of
room
physically
and
mentally
for
anyone
looking
to
expand
their
business
or
their
life
here,
just
45
minutes
or
so
from
Atlanta
you'll
find
an
abundance
of
undeveloped
land,
a
surprisingly
affordable
cost
of
living
and
a
special
kind
of
small-town
warmth.
You'll
also
discover
a
relaxed
pace
and
the
freedom
to
meet
just
about
endless
opportunities.
So,
whether
you're
looking
for
somewhere
to
expand
your
business
are
hoping
to
stretch
your
dollar
or
simply
need
more
space
for
your
family
to
grow.
A
A
So
taking
that
brand
positioning
and
the
statements
that
we
then
created
a
logo
working
with
our
company,
that
was
simple-
that
what's
unique
about
being
out
here
in
Walton,
County
and
Monroe
in
our
mini
cities,
is
that
we
don't
have
a
whole
lot
of
complicated
processes.
There's
not
a
whole
lot
of
difficulty
and
coming
out
here
to
open
your
business
or
just
art
a
new
project.
What
we're
doing
is
simply
creating
a
space
where
people
can
truly
stretch
out.
A
This
was
the
mark
that
was
selected
for
the
logo
and
the
tagline
is
simply
stretch
out
you've
seen
the
man,
perhaps
in
the
paper
and
at
some
of
the
community
events
he's
been
nicknamed
stretch
and
he's
been
making
appearances
throughout
the
community,
and
currently
the
chamber
is
hosting
a
photography
contest
for
the
best
ways
to
demonstrate
stretching
out
in
Walton
County
different
entities
that
are
part
of
the
one
want
project
then
can
adopt
elements
of
the
logo
and
the
messaging.
So
the
Chamber
of
Commerce
then
selected
a
logo
based
off
of
the
same
message.
A
A
A
So
as
you
position
it,
and
if
you
thought
about
a
magazine
ad
that
might
appear
in
Georgia
trend
or
in
Atlanta
magazine
this
simply
every
family
needs
its
room
and
it's
a
simple
image
of
a
child
stretching
their
arms
and
expanding.
And
that's
who
we
are
we're
about
stretching
out
the
more
room
you
had
to
stretch
the
bigger
your
ideas
can
grow.
A
You
know
we
are
open
in
this
community
to
ideas
about
how
to
rehab
an
old
school,
to
make
it
something
different
than
what
it
might
have
been
originally
created,
for
we
want
to
have
a
place
where
ideas
truly
can
grow.
It's
easier
to
spread
your
wings
when
nothing's
in
the
way,
when
we
think
about
airport
expansions
and
the
ability
to
tool
and
larger
industries.
A
So
now,
what
do
we
do?
First?
So
what
they
have
presented
us
with
our
top
ten
action
strategies
that
we
can
use
over
the
next
12
months.
That
will
build
recognition
for
the
brand
and
actually
get
this
momentum
going
again.
So
I'm
not
going
to
go
through
all
of
these
and
read
them
to
you.
But
let
me
just
tell
you
will
be
number
one
assigning
a
brand
leader.
A
The
Chamber
of
Commerce
will
be
the
lead
point
person
for
helping
us
manage
the
brand,
creating
a
standard
brand
PowerPoint
that
all
of
the
entities
that
invested
in
the
one
want
project
can
use
working
as
a
team
is
going
to
be
critical
as
each
of
the
cities
that
participated,
the
county,
the
chamber,
the
hospital,
as
we
all
work
together
to
figure
out.
How
do
we
take
this
messaging
and
use
it
together
and
then
number
for
branding
your
stationery?
A
Do
we
have
a
way
to
create
our
mark
on
our
stationery,
so
here's
an
example
of
how
the
stationery
might
look,
but
the
chamber
to
perhaps
adopted
the
county
as
we
move
forward
with
Monroe
I'll.
Tell
you
at
the
end
a
little
bit
how
the
DDA
is
going
to
use
the
logo
having
a
novelty
items
that
can
be
used.
A
You
know
you're
always
wanting
something
to
take
to
George
Municipal
Association
or
when
you
have
prospects,
come
in
here's
a
simple
concept
of
just
a
piece
of
stretch,
material
that
when
you
stretch
it
out,
conveys
the
message
having
signage
again
throughout
the
entire
community
that
brands,
who
we
are
so
instead
of
the
traditional
green
signs
that
say,
welcome
to
Walton
County,
using
our
mark
and
using
our
messaging.
You
can
see
a
concept
for
how
to
take
the
banners
downtown
and
again
we
operate
the
stretch
message.
A
How
website
can
look
incorporating
stretch
out
having
plenty
of
promotional
product
ideas
that
are
throughout
the
community,
certainly
having
the
logos
that
can
be
placed
on
the
back
of
cars?
Hats
shopping
bags,
things
that
we
use
our
own
citizens
to
I,
basically
have
and
walk
around
with,
so
that
when
they
are
going
to
stone
mountain
or
when
they're
traveling
and
going
places,
there's
a
Walton,
County
message
out
there
a
lot
just
some
more
branded
promotional
product
ideas,
the
straws
that
can
be
placed
into
restaurants
that
are
bendy
with
a
bindi
person
how
to
cover
cars.
A
Social
circle
as
an
example,
is
look
at
placing
in
their
crosswalks
the
stretch
mark
with
the
stretch
guys,
as
is
demonstrated
in
this
photo
here,
perhaps
how
to
wrap
a
car
or
some
of
the
city
vehicles
or
county
vehicles
that
may
be
on
the
road
to
help
incorporate
the
message
we're
open
to
stretching
out
so
once
the
top
ten
is
complete.
What's
next
for
it,
here's
the
fun
part
so
we're
over
the
next
eight
to
ten
months
of
the
brand
we're
going
to
work
to
get
two
or
three
of
these
initiatives
underway
right
away.
A
Events,
as
the
crape
myrtle
looks
and
to
its
future.
Is
there
a
way
to
perhaps
partner
up
and
create
a
larger
than
life
event?
It
can
be
clearly
branded
to
the
stretch
out
campaign
and
then,
most
importantly,
involving
local
businesses,
because
this
is
not
simply
about
a
government
messaging
or
Brandon.
It's
also
about
the
community
as
a
whole.
So
how
can
our
local
businesses
be
involved
throughout
the
community
holding
of
stretch
or
dollar
days
and
then
doing
cross
promotional
activities
that
draw
businesses
together?
A
So,
most
importantly,
we
just
want
you
to
stand
up
and
be
part
of
this
process
and
help
us
to
stretch
out
as
we
move
forward
the
Monroe
DDA
as
the
follow-up
to
this
is
taking
the
stretch,
message
and
the
stretch
man
and
is
working
with
Northstar
to
create
a
downtown
Monroe
specific
logo
that
will
incorporate
not
a
man
necessarily
standing
still,
but
the
stretch
band
in
motion.
The
sense
there's
a
really
walkable
community
here
in
Monroe,
so
we
will
be
bringing
that
back
to
you,
the
next
45
days.
