A
We're
going
to
call
the
meeting
of
the
historic
preservation
commission
for
july
26
2022
to
order
it
is
six
o'clock
present.
We
have
faye
rossi
myself,
elizabeth
jones
and
laura
powell.
We
also
have
president
laura
wilson
of
code
administration,
the
first.
The
first
thing
on
the
agenda
is
the
approval
of
the
agenda
and
that's
something
new
that
we
have
just
started
as
of
what
last
week
I
believe
laura.
A
B
Yes,
so
if
any
commission
members
would
like
to
add
something
to
the
agenda,
now
is
the
time.
If
not,
we
just
need
a
motion
for
approval.
A
A
All
right
old
business,
the
first
item
of
business
is
a
request
for
is,
it
is,
is
the
coa
707
south
madison
new
construction?
Thank
you.
Lori.
A
Lori
before
you
begin,
I
just
did
have
a
note
that
I
wanted
to
go
over
and
just
say
that
everybody's
aware,
we
did
have
a
note
here.
On
the
height,
the
maximum
building
height
permitted
for
dwelling
units
shall
be
18
feet,
excluding
the
pitched
roof.
The
highest
point
of
any
pitched
roof
may
not
exceed
25
feet,
and
that
is
from
the
zoning
ordinance,
and
I
just
wanted
to
be
sure
that
you
are
aware
of
that.
D
Yes,
okay,
so
you're
referring
to
one
of
the
plans
right
that
has
the
27
feet
what
we
would
like
to
do
if
you
notice
on
one
of
the
pictures
that
we
sent
of
the
two-story
houses,
ones
on
radford
and
one's
on
madison,
I
think
they're
not
quite
as
pitched,
and
so
what
we
would
like
to
do.
The
plan
that
we
submitted
has
a
912
roof
pitch
the
minimum
re
or
the
max.
No
I'm
sorry,
the
minimum
is
612
as
according
to
the
guidelines
for
this
district.
A
C
The
number
four
position
you've
got
the
plan.
The
plat
here
numbered
one
two,
three,
four,
five
mm-hmm.
C
C
C
A
F
E
And
we
sent
you
three
plans
that
we're
good
with
all
of
them,
but
we
wanted
to
give
you
some
options
just
in
case
one.
I.
G
E
Two
of
them
you've
already
two
of
them.
You've
already
said
you
liked
last
month,
but
the
blue
house
is
another
alternate
alternative
for
you.
So.
E
C
These
are
the
exact
same
except
different,
colors
and
well.
The
blue
one
is
different,
that's
a
good
thing,
but
two
of
them
are
the
same,
and
when
you
build
more
than
one
in
a
grouping
like
this,
they
need
to
vary
this
one.
The.
E
C
E
E
F
C
E
C
We
want
to
stay
within
the
craftsman
look,
but
we
just
don't
want
to
be
cop,
cookie
cutters,
okay,
okay,
that'd.
C
E
B
Yes,
so
monroe
utilities
has
approved
the
plat
for
the
location
of
the
houses.
I
know
you
guys
had
some
challenges
with
that
between
this
month
and
last
month.
E
B
So
the
house
location
has
been
approved,
the
driveways
are
approved
to
go
slightly
across
some
of
the
sewer
easements.
That's
not
going
to
be
a
problem.
E
E
One
at
a
time
and
then
like
just
one
two
and
then
we
may
be
able
to
do
two
or
three
at
once,
but
we
need
to
get
the
first
one
started.
So
we
haven't
come
up
with
the
timeline
for
aether.
Yet.
B
Yes,
so
when
you
do
the
ones
for
eighth
street,
you
do
need
to
come
back
for
those
specific
addresses.
A
E
A
G
My
initial
request
was
going
to
be
to
subdivide
or
sort
of
re-divide
those
two
lots
115
6th
street,
which
is
the
one
where
the
house
is
now
and
then
you'll
notice.
There's
an
adjacent
lot.
G
So
it
was
recommended
that
I
make
an
application
here
to
go
through
the
formal
process
of
dividing
that
back
into
two
lots,
one
which
would
have
that
house
on
it
that
you
have
a
picture
of
and
then
the
other
vacant
lot.
G
C
G
C
G
With
showing
the
placement
of
a
specific
house
plan,.
G
G
G
Mill,
well,
that's
that
would
be
my
intent
to
build
another,
essentially
another
mill
house.
So,
okay,
well
I'll
I'll
work
on
that
and
do
you.
G
And
at
this
time
I
don't
have
plans
to
build.
I
own,
the
other
house,
of
course,
which
I'm
I
just
finished
remodeling,
and
so
my
intent
was
to
just
redivide
the
two.
I
think
there's
about
three
or
four
feet
of
road
frontage.
That
was
that
issue
here.
G
It
is,
and
I
believe
that's
why
the
two
lights
were
dissolved
into
one
initially.
I
assume
so,
but
I
I
don't
mind
doing
that,
I
just
I
I
don't
have
plans
to
build
on
it
right
now,
so
I
don't
have
a
house
planned,
but
that's
fine.
A
B
B
He
if
we
make
a
motion
to
table
it,
we
have
to
table
it
to
the
august
meeting
to
revisit
it.
The
direction
he
gave
for
me
is
that
hbc
sort
of
has
the
supersedes
approval,
so
his
ultimate
plan
has
to
be
approved
by
hbc
before
he
can
go
to
planning
commission
to
get
the
variance
that
he
needed,
which.
G
Right
see,
one
reason
how
this
came
about
for
me
was:
I
just
renovated
the
house,
that's
at
the
address
115,
which
of
course
is
on
this
property
and
I'm
you
know
so.
I've
either
got
to
rent
it
or
sell
it.
But
if
I
decided
to
sell
it,
I
didn't
want
to
lose
the
other
lot
with
it.
So
I
thought
well,
let
me
go
ahead
and
see
about
dividing
the
two
properties
and
then
you
know,
and
then
I
can
make
my
plans
down
the
road
from
there.
Well.
C
E
C
B
I
G
G
A
Fifth,
item
of
business
is
the
request
for
coa
217,
east
maryvale
street
exterior
edition.
I
Righty,
this
is
miss
carissa.
She
just
purchased
the
property
and
I'm
the
contractor.
Her
mom
lives
right
beside
her,
so
this
is
gonna,
be
a
nice
nice
house
to
to
renovate.
So
what
we're
looking
to
do
is
bring
to
bring
this
house
up
to
code
and
the
addition
that
we're
asking
to
do
is
on
the
sidewalk
page.
I
If
you
look
at
page
page
number,
six,
where
it
shows
the
addition
of
the
master
bath
connecting
the
two
little
gables,
which
is
on
page
three,
so
what
we
want
to
do
is
to
be
able
to
connect
these
two
little
gables
into
one
big
gable.
That's
not
going
to
secede
the
top
of
the
main
ridge.
We
want
to
connect
these
one.
C
C
I
I
And
I
know
paige
page
number:
four,
doesn't
I
didn't
do
it
justice
like
it's
supposed
to
be.
I
C
I
It's
like
seven
foot,
stick
protruding
out
and
when
I
did
the
like
the
little
with
the
with
a
little
square
right,
you
kind
of
put
it
where
it
looks
like
it's
got
a
flat
top.
But
it's
not.
I
Yes,
ma'am,
so
not
only
we're
asking
to
do
for
y'alls
permission
to
to
do
this,
but
miss
clarissa
also
wants
to
change
the
windows,
but
we're
going
to
keep
the
windows
as
the
original
house
house
that
it
looks
on
page
one.
So
we're
going
to
put
low
e
windows,
but
we're
going
to
make
sure
it's
going
to
have
the
grid
pattern
as
the
housing
was
built
from
the
beginning
and
and
currently
it
has
vinyl
siding
on
it.
I
Now
miss
clarissa
wants
to
take
the
vinyl,
siding
off
and
also
the
soffits,
and
go
back
to
the
the
historical
look
as
the
original.
So
she
she's
got
a
good
eye
and
a
good
taste
and
I'm
very
excited
because
not
only
had
this
this
project,
but
also
helped
on
239
east
marybel
street
also,
so
I
did
that
house
and
then
several
more
in
this
little
neighborhood
and
I'm
also
doing
301
north
north
broad
street
too.
So
love
this
community
love
working
with
the
city
and
stuff.
So.
C
C
C
C
B
I
Going
to
have
the
the
siding
that
was
intended,
that
was
already
on
it
and
it'd.
E
I
It'll
be
just
similar
to
239
east
marybel
street,
which
would
have
the
five
inch
slap
revealed
so
and
it
looks
like
the
soffit
has
the
I
call
it
the
dental
crown
up
towards
the
roof
line
where
they
took
metal,
so
we're
gonna
take
that
off,
and
so
it's
almost
like
christmas
opened
up
a
a
present.
So
we're
getting
excited
to
do
that.
So
we
want
to
make
sure
we
bring
it
to
towards
y'all
for
yaz's
approval.
I
A
And
our
item
of
business
tonight
is
a
request
for
coa
122
right
122
6th
street.
H
H
Well,
I'm
sure
you've
seen
it
is
the
house
that
burned
in
august
of
last
year.
Oh,
can
you
hear
me,
I'm
sorry,
so
it
it
caught
on
fire
last
year.
I
think
it
originated
in
the
living
room
and
that
right
side
of
the
house
is
pretty
pretty
damaged.
H
We
got
it
earlier.
This
year
we
like
to
renovate
houses.
We've
done
a
couple.
We've
lived
in
a
few
that
we've
done.
We
enjoy
it.
My
father-in-law
is
my
contractor.
H
H
We
don't
really
want
to
change
anything,
we're
not
changing
any
of
the
lines
of
the
house.
Some
of
the
siding,
like
the
left
side
of
the
house,
is
great
the
front
it
has
this
fake
rock
around
the
front
door.
We
would
like
to
remove
that
and
just
have
it
be
clean
siding.
We
are
doing
wood
siding
on
the
right
side
of
the
house
where
it's
damaged
the.
I
guess
it's
aluminum
siding
over
it's
over
wood
siding.
It's
that
four
inch
like
vinyl.
D
H
There
is
an
addition
on
the
back
where
it
looks
like
they
closed
in
a
porch,
and
it
looks
like
painted
plywood
perhaps,
but
we
want
to
cover
that
with
the
wood
siding
so
that
it
matches
the
rest
of
the
house
just
replace
the
roof,
it
needs
it
re-shingle
it
and
paint
the
house
there's
not
we're
going
to
replace
all
the
windows
with
double
home.
I
mean
like
the
the
wood
windows
nothing's
moving
on
the
the
windows
on
the
front
of
the
house
or
the
sides.
C
That's
good
I'll,
save
you
some
money!
Yes,
and
now,
when
you
go,
I
need
to
look
at
what
you've
you've
got
a
balustrade
with
a
wire.
Is
that
something
you
think
you're
going
to
do.
H
C
Out
loud,
if
you
are
to
code
with
the
front
now
and
when
I
say
historic
code,
a
lot
of
people
use
that
because
they
don't
want
the
four
inch
expanse
with
the
code,
you
have
to
have
four
inches
between
each
flat.
