A
Hi
I'm
Julie
bank,
the
superintendent
of
animal
welfare
for
the
city
of
oklahoma
city,
and
I'm
here
to
share
with
you
the
march
edition
of
animal
tales,
TV
the
show
about
oklahoma
city's
animals
and
the
people
who
love
them
with
me
are
my
beautiful
co-hosts
I
have
Rennie
and
daffodil.
Thank
you.
These
little
girls
are
sisters
and
they
were
actually
found
running
in
the
streets
of
Oklahoma
City.
A
They
were
brought
to
the
animal
shelter
and
they
are
now
available
for
adoption,
but
they're
here
to
remind
you
that
it's
very
important
that
you
put
identification
on
your
animals
neck
to
always
ensure
that
we
can
get
them
back
home
to
if
they
get
lost
and
also
remember,
spay,
neuter
your
animal
so
that
these
animals
don't
have
to
be
unwanted
in
the
first
place.
Since
it's
the
beginning
of
spring,
we're
going
to
talk
about
issues
that
face
animals
at
this
time
of
the
year.
A
It's
also
when
we're
starting
to
think
about
potential
disasters,
so
we're
going
to
have
one
of
the
oklahoma
city
staff
members
talk
to
you
about
ways
that
you
can
protect
your
family
and
your
animals
if
a
disaster
is
to
strike-
and
we
also
want
to
have
fun
in
the
spring
and
get
outside
we're
going
to
talk
to
you
about
things
that
you
can
do
with
your
dog
to
have
fun
during
the
springtime.
And
finally,
we
had
a
special
visitor
at
the
animal
shelter
last
month
and
that
was
enes
kanter
from
the
oklahoma
city.
A
Thunder
he's
going
to
share
with
you
about
his
visit
and
some
important
message
about
ways
that
you
can
get
involved
with
the
Oklahoma
City
Animal
Shelter.
But
right
now,
we'd
like
to
share
with
you
some
animal
welfare
success
stories
of
animals
that
were
adopted
into
loving
families
in
Oklahoma,
City.
B
Did
you
know
that
the
arts
make
a
significant
impact
on
education,
the
economy
and
our
quality
of
life
in
Oklahoma,
providing
more
than
10,000
jobs,
statewide
filtering
more
than
314
million
dollars
into
our
economy?
Yes,
the
arts
create
all
kinds
of
beautiful
things.
I'm
making
Oklahoma
an
even
better
place
to
live
is
the
most
beautiful
thing
of
all.
It
doesn't
take
a
big
donation
to
make
big
things
happen,
support
allied
arts
today,
a
little
give
is
all
it
takes.
Welcome.
A
C
A
C
C
While
care
is
a
non-profit
and
we
specialize
in
wildlife
rehabilitation,
so
our
mission
is
to
provide
people
a
place
to
bring
any
wild
animal.
That's
struggling
to
survive
with
the
whole
goal
of
us
of
releasing
them
back
out
into
the
wild.
We've
been
doing
it
about
31
years
and
right
now
we
take
in
over
6,000
wild
animals
a
year
now.
A
C
It's
equally
as
important
for
the
wildlife
to
any
wild
animal.
That's
found,
that's
injured
or
orphaned
or
ill
can
be
dropped
off
at
the
Oklahoma
City
Animal
Shelter,
and
then
the
wild
care
volunteers
go
by
every
day
at
the
end
of
the
day
and
pick
up
all
the
wild
animals
and
bring
them
down
to
wild
cares
facility
where
they'll
receive
care.
Without
that
facility
they
are
the
Oklahoma
City
Animal
Shelter
people
would
have
to
drive
all
the
way
to
noble
where
we're
located,
and
that
sometimes
is
hard
for
people
to
do
so.
C
C
This
it's
spring
time
we
already
have
baby
squirrels
in
the
nursery
and
it's
just
going
to
get
busier
with
all
the
little
wild
species
having
their
kids.
So
whenever
you
find
a
young
wild
animal,
you
need
to
assess
whether
it
truly
is
orphaned
or
injured,
or
whether
it's
just
been
temporarily
separated
from
its
mom,
because
a
lot
of
wild
moms
won't
stay
there.
When
us
humans
approach
their
nests
and
they'll
fly
off
or
run
off,
and
so
it's
hard
to
determine
that.
But
there's
ways
of
doing
that
so.
C
Well,
for
instance,
if
you're
a
little
songbird
little
songbirds
sit
in
a
nest
like
this
little
guy,
this
little
blue
bird
sitting
in
his
nest.
That's
what
we
call
an
ester
but
as
they
get
a
little
bit
older
they'll
start
hopping
around
the
branches,
and
sometimes
these
kids.
They
miss
the
branch
and
they
fall
down,
and
then
they
aren't
able
to
fly
completely
yet
so
then
people
will
bring
them
to
us
and
say
he's
orphan,
but
he's
really
not
he
just
kind
of
tumbled
out
of
the
branches.
C
So
if
you
can
put
him
in
the
fine
branches
of
a
nearby
tree
is
great,
but
if
you
have
a
little
wicker
basket
like
this,
you
can
wire
that
up
in
the
bat
and
the
branches
and
then
put
the
baby
bird
right
back
in
there
and
mom
will
continue
to
raise
them.
It
is
an
old
husband's
tale
because,
as
old
wives
aren't
wrong,
it's
an
old
husband's
tale.
A
C
They
find
a
young
one
like
that.
It's
always
the
best
thing
to
do
is
put
on
a
pair
of
leather
gloves.
They
don't
have
to
be
as
long
as
this,
but
protect
yourself
and
always
use
a
towel,
because
some
of
these
little
wild
animals
like
this
little
squirrel.
Although
he's
really
cute
and
he's
not
able
to
take
care
of
himself,
they
have
got
phenomenal
teeth
and
you
do
not
want
to
be
bitten
by
him.
C
So
you're
gonna
take
a
little
towel,
throw
the
towel
over
the
baby
grab
him
up
in
your
leather
gloves,
put
him
in
a
carrier,
that's
secure
with
a
secure
lid
and
then
either
drive
them
to
the
Oklahoma
City
Animal
Shelter
for
us
to
pick
up
or
down
to
wild
care
so
that
we
can
help
him.
But
you
can
also
always
call
while
care
and
get
some
advice,
because
sometimes
that's
the
best
thing
to
do.
C
A
You
know,
I
was
just
going
to
ask
you
about
how
people
can
get
more
information
or
even
get
involved
with
helping
your
organization
or
volunteering
with
your
organization.
Can
you
kind
of
enders
our
segment
talking
a
little
bit
about
some
of
your
needs
and
what
people
can
do
to
learn
more
and
to
help
you
sure.
C
Wild
care
has
a
very
active
Facebook
page
at
while
Kari
Oklahoma.
Our
website
is
wild
care.
Oklahoma
org
also
both
places
will
talk
about
volunteerism
and
ways
to
donate,
and
it's
special
events
that
are
coming
up.
We're
also
very
proud
that
this
year
we
were
selected
to
host
the
National
Wildlife.
We
have
association
annual
conference,
so
there'll
be
500
rehabbers
from
all
over
this
country,
coming
into
Norman
for
the
conference
and
down
to
noble
to
tour
wild
care
and
see
how
Oklahomans
take
care
of
their
wildlife
in
this
part
of
the
country.
So.
C
Really
is,
and
if
you
think
about
it,
if
your
neighbors
move
out
of
the
house
next
door
to
you,
you
know
at
some
point
in
time
someone's
going
to
move
back
in.
So
if
you
have
a
territory
of
whether
it's
a
skunk
or
a
possum
or
a
bird
or
whatever,
and
you
remove
that
animal,
whether
lethally
or
not
from
that
territory.
Another
animals
just
going
to
move
in.
So
all
you've
done
is
change.
Neighbors
I'm
in
killed
an
animal,
and
that's
not
the
right
thing
right.
Well,.
A
Run
d:
thank
you
so
much
for
sharing
about
the
wild,
Care
Foundation
and
again.
Thank
you
so
much
for
your
partnership.
I
think
we
all
work
together
to
make
a
difference
in
the
lives
of
all
animals
and
that's
really
terrific.
I
encourage
everybody
out
there
to
consider
getting
involved
with
the
wild
Care
Foundation
and
to
certainly
learning
a
whole
lot
more
about
living
in
harmony
with
wild
animals
in
the
community.
Right
now,
I'd
like
to
share
with
you
some
animal
welfare
selfies,
but
we
like
to
call
them.
E
G
H
E
That
dog
has
a
thirsty
looking
as
I
did
you
know
that
it's
really
not
that
hard
to
save
water
like
here
in
the
sink,
don't
make
me
run
too
much
good
I'm.
Somebody
shut
me
off
now.
This
is
my
kind
of
party,
a
full
house.
Let's
roll
hey
we're
in
a
drought,
which
means
I'm
kind
of
a
big
deal.
So
save
me
really
me.
A
J
A
A
J
A
J
We
we
play
some
as
a
liaison
to
other
rescue
agencies,
as
well
as
removing
animals
from
those
areas
that
have
been
impacted
and
and
getting
them
back
to
the
owners.
So
not
only
do
we
house
the
animals
that
we've
we've
removed
from
those
those
errs
that
had
been
affected,
we
also
work
in
keeping
the
animals
safe
in
shelter
sites
that
may
have
been
placed
up
in
the
areas
that
are
closer
to
being
the
impact
of
them.
So.
A
J
Well,
you
need
to
have
a
go
kit
ready
not
only
for
yourself,
but
also
for
your
pet.
You
need
to
have
their
information
as
far
as
the
rabies
information
take
a
picture
of
you
and
your
pet
together.
Keep
that
on
your
phone,
because
you,
usually
you
have
your
phone
with
you.
You
also
need
to
have
and
plenty
of
water,
maybe
three
days
worth
of
water
for
yourself,
as
well
as
for
your
pet,
have
any
evacuation
plan
and
also
with
your
evacuation
plan.
J
J
J
J
J
I
A
Thank
you
for
giving
us
those
disaster
tips
today.
If
you
would
like
more
information
about
becoming
part
of
the
disaster
brigade
or
animal
preparedness
tips,
please
visit
our
website
at
okc,

/
animal
welfare
I'd
like
to
now
send
you
to
David
Wagner
who's,
going
to
share
with
you
ideas
of
fun
things
that
you
can
do
with
your
dog
in
the
spring.
K
Hi
everyone-
this
is
benji
he's
not
only
my
friend
but
he's
also
available
for
adoption,
and
could
be
your
forever
friend
we'd
like
to
talk
about
a
few
things
that
you
can
do
now
that
the
weather
is
warming
up.
It's
zombo's
spring
now
and
it's
time
to
get
your
dog
out
there
do
a
little
walking
little
running
even
take
a
dog
tour
dog
park.
If
you
do
to
go
to
our
dog
park,
you
want
to
make
sure
if
your
dog
is
spayed
and
neutered
and
has
all
the
appropriate
vaccinations
and
well
socialized
with
other
dogs.
K
K
If
your
dog
is
outside
for
most
of
the
day,
you
want
to
have
shade
for
them,
and
another
trick
you
can
do
is
you
can
freeze
their
water
bowl
so
that
their
water
is
cool
throughout
the
day,
then
one
of
the
things
that
will
keep
them
at
happy
and
energized
is
you
can
buy
toys
you
can
actually
put
their
food
in
and
that
will
keep
them
occupied
all
day,
pushing
that
around
and
trying
to
get
that
food
out
get
on
out.
There
have
some
fun
with
your
forever
friend,
like
Benji,.
I
G
H
M
Pesticides,
these
here
can
add
up
bet
you
have
leftovers,
but
I
never
know
when
I
might
need
them.
So
many
something's
got
to
go.
I
know
it's
tough,
but
but
it's
just
not
safe
to
store,
so
many
chemicals
just
take
them
to
oklahoma
city's
household
hazardous
waste
collection
facility.
They'll.
Take
care
of
everything.
Hey
is
that
another
bottle
get
more
info
at
okc
gov.
If
you.
A
A
G

I'm

we're

you

I
have
a
lot
of
high

a
lot
of
birds
and
fish,
but
I.
Never,
you
know:
I
had
a

before
now
I'm
like
thinking
about
adopting
an

please
getting
more
with
OKC

get
involved
and
adopt
and
volunteer
like
I.
