A
Hello
there
and
welcome
once
again
to
the
mayor's
magazine,
I'm
Mick
Cornett,
the
mayor
of
Oklahoma
City,
and
this
is
our
program
from
June
2016.
Well,
if
you're
in
touch
with
the
city's
presence
and
on
the
world
wide
web,
you
might
have
noticed
a
few
changes
recently
and
here
to
discuss.
Those
changes
is
Zach.
B
B
You
could
find
stuff,
you
know
one
of
our
biggest
complaints
is.
We
can't
find
anything
when
people
try
to
search,
and
we
have
a
really
prominent
search
bar
that
it
is
makes
it
really
easy
to
find
what
you're
looking
for
we
restructured
into
select
six
buckets
residents,
business
visitors
and
we
put
things
that
that
are
important
to
those
different
users
in
those
buckets.
So
they
can
just
hover,
find
what
they
need
and
hopefully
connect
with
the
city
quicker,
and
why.
B
Definitely
we
are
seeing
more
and
more
it's
it's
mobile
has
surpassed
depth,
desktop
users,
and
you
know
we
see
it.
I
was
looking
at
analytics
last
night
and
you
know
during
the
Thunder
games
you
see
people.
Eighty
percent
of
the
visitors
to
okc
govt
at
night
are
using
their
mobile
device,
and
so
that
was
one
of
the
main
priorities
with
this
redesign
was
to
to
make
it
mobile
friendly.
So,
no
matter,
if
you're
on
a
tablet
or
you're
visiting
the
site
on
your
Apple
watch,
you
can
get
a
good
experience
now.
A
People
from
my
generation,
if
they
needed
to
get
in
touch
with
someone
at
city
government,
they
probably
would
have
picked
up
the
phone
and
made
a
phone
call
more
and
more
though
people
are
interacting
with
their
government
they're
their
cell
phone
or
on
the
on
the
Internet.
Can
you
kind
of
describe
that
transition
and
what
types
of
interaction
that
we
see
on
our
end,
yeah.
B
Definitely
you
know,
the
website
has
been
kind
of
the
front
door
of
City
Hall
now,
especially
for
a
lot
of
people
that
you
know
they,
they
pay
their
water
bill
online.
They
report
when
we
miss
their
trash
there.
They
go
online
first
thing,
whether
it
be
social
media
or
website
or
use
the
Action
Center,
and
it
is
the
the
front
door
of
City
Hall
and.
A
B
Well,
you
can
do
you
know.
You
mentioned
those
people
that
still
want
to
pick
up
the
phone
Action
Center
is
still
around
297
25
35
or
you
can
go
onto
okc
Gavin,
just
click
report
an
issue
or
you
can
download
the
okc
connect
app
and
that's
on
android
and
apple.
You
download
that
you
register
it
with
the
username.
You
tell
us
where
it
is
and
you
push
submit.
You
can
even
upload
a
picture
and
we'll
get
a
crew
out
there.
You
know
so.
A
If
someone
say
on
my
street,
it
you
know,
looks
like
they
hadn't
mowed
the
yard
in
a
month,
and
the
weeds
are
16
inches
high
and
I
wondering
if
anybody's
going
to
take
care
of
that
soon.
I
just
want
to
call
the
city
and
let
them
know
you
say
you
can
take
a
picture
and
then
send
it.
I
would
think
that
that
really
helps
us
on
our
end,
because
now
we
no
longer
have
to
send
somebody
out
to
see
if
there's
actually
a
problem,
definitely.
B
We're
622
square
miles,
people
we
need
people
to
be
the
eyes
and
ears
of
the
city
when
they
see
a
pothole
when
they
see
a
vacant
lot
that
may
have
high
grass
and
weeds
we
need.
We
need
to
know
that,
so
we
can
send
an
inspector
out
and
they
go
to
the
right
spot
and
with
this
new
app
that's
one
of
the
things
it
incorporates
better
in
our
our
backend
CMS
system,
and
so
it
makes
it
easier
for
those
inspectors
to
know
exactly
where
they're
going
and
can
plot
their
day
at
their
work
day
out.
B
B
A
B
A
B
B
A
lot
of
it
is
to
do
business
where
they
need
to
get
a
building
permit.
You
know
we.
We
really
tried
to
focus
on
a
step-by-step
approach.
You
know
it's
intimidating
to
come
to
downtown
for
some
people,
especially
doing
something
they
only
do
you
know
maybe
once
or
twice
why
they
have
a
house
get
a
storm,
shelter
permit
or
a
building
permit.
We
want
to
make
that
as
easy
as
possible,
and
so
we
just
step
by
step
approach.
You
know
you
gather
this
paperwork
step.
One
call
this
number
and
come
down
so.
A
B
No,
this
is
a
new.
This
is
a
new
feature.
We
did
not
have
a
visitor's
portal
before
you
know
that
the
chamber
had
and
visit
OKC
have
had
theirs,
but
if
I
could
do
one
thing
for
visitors,
it's
those
people
that
are
downtown
at
noon
on
a
sunny
day
and
they
hear
those
storm
sirens
and
they're
like
what
is
this
and
we
test
them
every
every
saturday
at
noon,
and
so
we
hope
that
though
they
can
easily
find
that
preparedness,
information
and
also
connect
them
with
things
that
are
going
on.
B
Our
citizen
survey
shows
that
that
people
want
to
know
the
number
one
thing
that
they
want
to
know
from
the
city.
Public
information
is
what
events
are
happening,
and
so
we
really
wanted
to
kind
of
focus
on
that
on
a
new
website
and
not
just
you
know,
have
be
the
place
where
people
pay
their
water
bill,
but
they
can
get
connected
to
other
things
and
know
what's
going
on
in
their
community
public.
A
A
D
Peak
travel
season
is
upon
us
we're
all
in
this
learning
together.
Wear
shoes
that
are
easy
to
remove
and
skip
the
bling.
It
makes
metal
detectors
ring,
make
sure
all
liquids,
lotions
and
potions
fit
into
that
quart
sized
bag.
How
quickly
we
get
through
depend
on
you,
arrive
early
and
travel
smart
with,
will
rogers
world
airport
to
learn
more
visit,
fly
and
kc
com.
E
Free
yet
cun
free,
yet
it's
the
harmonious
marriage
of
free
and
convenient,
and
it's
the
perfect
word
to
describe
the
mobile
app
from
oklahoma
city
utilities.
Customer
service
division,
download
it
free
today
and
manage
your
okc
utility
account
on
the
go.
You
can
check
your
bill
on
your
smart
phone
or
device
and
pay
your
bill
on
the
run
anywhere
anytime
free
app,
convenient
access.
It
doesn't
get
more
convenient
than
that
download
the
okc
utilities
app
today.
The
convenient
way
to
manage
your
oklahoma
city
utility
account.
F
A
Welcome
back
to
the
mayor's
magazine,
I'm
Mick
Cornett,
the
mayor
of
oklahoma
city,
at
in
the
second
segment
of
the
show,
we're
going
to
learn
more
about
an
award
that
was
given
out
last
month
at
the
mayor's
development
round
table
every
year
we
give
a
best
development
award
and
it's
gone
in
the
past
two
projects
like
the
skirvin
hotel
or
or
brick
town
or
the
health
sciences
center.
So
you
see
it
can
be
just
one
building
or
it
can
be
a
series
of
buildings
that
comprise
a
complete
development.
A
H
I
originally
grew
up
in
Cleveland
Oklahoma,
so
it's
right
on
the
Arkansas
River
in
northeastern
Oklahoma,
but
I
came
to
Oklahoma
City,
because
I,
attended,
ocu
and
and
then
I
stayed
Tomic.
Daniel
convinced
me
to
work
there
when
he
was
president
and
so
I
stayed
for
about
seven
years
and
then
uptown
23rd
scooped
me
up
to
be
their
executive
director
and.
A
H
Haven
10
years
ago,
really
probably
right.
Jane
Jenkins
is
one
who
pioneered
that
for
us,
so
I'd
kind
of
do
everything,
but
then
at
the
same
time
nothing
at
the
same
time,
so
I
oversee
our
board,
I
oversee
our
committees.
We
have
about
three
active
committees
that
service
uptown,
23rd,
beautification
events
and
programs.
We
have
a
couple
of
specific
events
and
then
an
economic
development
committee,
so
I
oversee
all
of
those
things.
H
A
A
H
And
what
is
that
history,
so
overall
service
kervens
the
classes
that
all
of
those
people
that
made
our
neighborhood
uptown
23rd
so
I
mean
we
were
the
premier
shopping
district
of
Oklahoma
City.
For
the
longest
time
I
mean
we
were
the
northern
border
of
downtown.
Really,
I
mean
walkable
from
heritage,
hills,
a
mess
to
park
jefferson
park
paseo,
and
we
still
are
that
and
we're
wanting
to
kind
of
bring
that
back.
That
retail.
Then,
of
course,
we're
known
for
our
restaurants
and
and
we've
got
some
good
entertainment
space
is
coming
up.
H
H
A
H
It's
from
what
I
understand
is
that
you're
right
it
came
down
from
the
capital
from
Kelly
down
23
and
down
23rd
to
basically
western
class,
an
area
and
then,
and
then
that
goes
up
Western
and
then
across
39.
So
and
it
gets
kind
of
confusing
now
I
mean
we've
got
route,
66
kind
of
all
over
the
city,
and
so
you
just
kind
of
have
it
to
take
it
with
a
grain
of
salt
of
where
it
used
to
be.
But
you
know
for
us,
so
those
were
locations
like
the
tower.
The
gold
dome,
the
milk
bottle.
H
Those
are
really
prominent
locations
along
route
66
for
us,
and
so,
if
you
can
imagine
twenty-third
Street
being
you
know,
one
lane
each
direction
with
diagonal
parking
and
these
big
huge
art,
deco
buildings
with
neon
signs,
and
it
had
to
be
in
quite
the
location
for
people
to
come
from
out
of
town
I,
know
my
family
traveled
route.
66
a
lot
so
and
I
know
that
that
that
was
really
the
place
to
come
in
the
30s
in
the
40s.
The.
H
Latest
is
natural:
groceries
is
going
to
come
and
put
a
store
in
the
gold
dome
and
we're
really
really
excited
about
bringing
a
grocery
store,
this
close
to
uptown
in
midtown
and
downtown.
So
we
definitely
have
needed
something
and
to
service
our
neighborhoods
and
be
walkable
to
Heritage
Hills
Gatewood
mess
to
park.
So
we're
really
excited
about
that
natural
grocers
and.
H
Right
now
it's
a
landscape,
architect
firm,
so
they
just
moved
in
and
probably
about
six
months
ago
before
that
we
had
a
cute
little
boutique
from
Guthrie.
That's
SAT
there
for
a
while
the
Prairie
gothic,
and
so
we're
really
excited
to
kind
of
have
it
as
more
of
an
office
space
and
more
of
a
when
they
bring
clients
and
they
can
kind
of
see
their
their
architectural
designs.
So
it's
kind
of
really
cool
to
get
somebody
in
there.
A
H
Let
me
back
up
yep
the
tower
theatre.
We're
really
excited
about
that,
and
not
only
is
it
going
to
be
a
theater
in
terms
of
for
live
productions,
but
also
be
able
to
host
shows
so
like
plays
and
musicals.
There
is
a
pit
and
there
should
be
room
for
about
900
to
1100
people
in
that
Vin.
You
and
we've
got
office
space
upstairs
on
the
second
floor
and
then
a
long
twenty-third,
Street,
there's
actually
three
retail
spaces
that
aren't
even
be
filled.
We've
got
at
least
one
bar.
A
H
We
well
right
now
at
23rd
and
Robinson,
so
at
many
people,
if
they're
familiar
with
the
uptown
corner,
know
that
that
kind
of
was
blighted,
I
mean
that's
a
bus,
stop
in
it.
It
really
had
some
unseen
Lee
characters
at
that
corner,
and
so
we're
really
excited
that
bin
sellers
in
his
group,
who
also
have
the
tower
also
half
the
mess
to
building
where
pizza
23
is
they
have
refurbished
those
there.
H
H
This
summer,
well,
it
kicked
off
in
May.
We're
really
excited
about
the
Uptown
farmers
market
is
returning
this
year.
This
year
will
be
doing
the
first
and
third
son
days
in
the
month,
which
means
we're
doubling
our
presence
in
terms
of
a
farmers
market.
So
we're
excited
add
to
bring
people
down
we're
on
North
Walker
between
23rd
and
25th,
on
Sundays
from
10-2
to
this
last
one
was.
It
was
a
bit
overcast,
but
it
was
the
perfect
day.
It
was
really
a
low-key
and
our
vendors
had
a
sellout
day.
So
we're
really
happy
about
that.
H
So
June
will
be
great
july,
even
better.
So
we'll
we're
excited
to
go
through
this
season,
we're
working
on
a
couple
of
route,
66
things
from
the
next
couple
of
months.
We
are
hoping
to
do
a
car
show
on
Father's
Day,
so
we're
excited
about
that
and
we're
partnering
kind
of
with
some
of
our
local
businesses
it'll
be
the
same
time
as
the
farmers
market
to
kind
of
draw
in
a
different
crowd
on
a
Father's
Day.
So
you.
A
C
Switzer
here
to
help
you
put
the
blitz
on
mosquito-borne
diseases.
This
is
something
my
family
knows
a
lot
about.
My
son
Doug
got
West
Nile
virus
and
it's
not
easy
to
beat
here's.
My

are
in

and

Health.
E
If
one
word
could
describe
auto
bill
pay
from
oklahoma
city
utilities
customer
service
division,
it
would
be
symptomatic
because
auto
bill
pay
makes
it
simple
to
schedule
automatic
payments
for
your
utility
bill
and
that's
simply
symptomatic,
go
to
okc
gov
and
click
online
payments
to
scheduled
payments
from
your
bank
account
and
bully
your
bill
gets
paid
automatically
on
time.
Every
time
month
after
month,
you
can
review
bills
on
your
computer
or
smart
device
and
set
limits
to
avoid
overdraft
with
auto
bill.
J
Hi
guys
I'm
Anna
standard
form
of
the
Oklahoma
City
Thunder.
We
here
today
in
animal
shelter
when
I
was
kidding
turkey,
you
know
I
have
a
lot
of
you
know.
I
had
cast
a
lot
of
birds
and
fish,
but
I.
Never
in
oh
I
had
a
dog
before
now.
I'm
like
thinking
about
adopting
an
animal
who
is
getting
more
with
Oakland,
see
an
animal
welfare
and
getting
more
adopt
and
volunteer
like
I,
am.
A
I
It
was
great
lifelong
Cardinals
fan
and
gotten
the
sports
business
a
few
years
ago,
and
the
u.s.
Senior
Open
brought
me
here
at
Oklahoma
City
and
the
draw
what's
happening
here
in
Oklahoma
City.
You
know,
I
wanted
to
stay
and
I
got
the
opportunity
to
do
that
with
the
funk
McLaughlin
families
with
protocol
and
the
energy
and.
I
I
I
did
on
a
daily
basis
it
changes
but
we're
we're
working
to
build.
You
know
a
great
team
for
Oklahoma
City
with
our
soccer
team
and
it's
simultaneously
we're
working
on
bringing
great
events
like
PBR
and
OKC
fest
and
all
those
many
different
things
that
our
citizens,
you
know,
want
and
expect
from
a
quality
life
standpoint,
yeah
and.
I
We
finished
in
2015
in
the
Western
Conference
final
and
in
front
of
about
7,000
people,
which
was
standing
room
only
crowd
and
we
kicked
off
this
year.
We
brought
in
FC
Dallas
for
an
exhibition
game
and,
what's
great
this
month
towards
the
end
of
the
month
on
jun
28th.
We're
going
to
bring
in
Chivas,
which
is
in
comparison,
is
like
a
Manchester
United
Real
Madrid,
it
is,
is
arguably
ranked
the
second
most
popular
franchise
and
soccer
in
the
world.
I
They've
got
about
40
million
followers
and
we
are
bringing
their
first
team
to
face
the
energy
and,
what's
unique,
is
they're
coming
in
and
European
soccer
and
mexican
soccer.
They
are,
they
usually
have
a
summer
break,
and
so
they
come
into
the
states
to
play
in
front
of
their
fans
and
they
are
playing
three
other
they're
playing
Arsenal,
which
is
a
highly
regarded
and
followed
EPL
team,
a
European
team
and
they're
playing
to
other
mexican
league
teams.
We
are
the
only
american
team
that
they're
playing
and
those
other
venues
are.
I
I
Guadalajara,
okay,
then
Guadalajara.
So
you
know
when
we
started
this
and
Tim
and
Bob
started
this.
We
wanted
to
bring
these
types
of
events
to
Oklahoma
City
and
it's
part
of
growing
our
fan
base
and
growing
soccer
and
under
one
umbrella
in
one
banner
and
the
for
our
Hispanic
fans,
I
mean
this
is,
which
is
a
growing.
I
I
They
grew
up
playing
it.
We
see,
you
know,
we've
got
a
very
unique
opportunity
if
you
come
out
to
an
energy
game,
we
actual
have
a
kid
zone
inside
down
on
field
level,
and
we
let
the
kids
go
play
and
enjoy
it's
just
a
different
environment.
So
we've
got
families
with
you,
know,
kids,
and
then
we
have,
you
know
guys.
You
know
such
as
you
know,
a
Mike,
Turpin
or
you
know,
guys
are
just
are
out
supporting
events
in
Oklahoma
City
so
are.
Our
fan
base
is
just
very,
very
dynamic.
I
Task
stadium
is
great,
it's
really,
you
know
great.
It
was
a
Maps,
you
know
lead
project
and
with
the
school
board
and
the
school
district,
and
we
were
able
to
put
in
a
few
extra
touches
to
make
it
a
little
bit
more
professional
ready.
But
we
are
it's
just
a
fun
atmosphere
and
its
really
family-friendly
kid,
friendly
and
just
a
great
way
to
spend
an
evening
here
in
Oklahoma
City,
where.
I
I
I
Been
involved
in
well,
we've
got
several
players
at
coach.
They
want
to
coach
I,
go
coach
at
the
different
soccer
clubs,
we're
involved
with
the
Police
Athletic
League.
We
have
a
very
special
bond
with
Special
Olympics
and
their
athletes,
which
is
called
energy
sidekicks,
and
we
pair
a
soccer
player
with
the
Special
Olympic
athlete
and
they
have
a
life
or
a
they
make
a
lifelong
bond,
but
we
do
it
on
a
yearly
basis.
I
I
We
work
with
our
Hispanic
community,
plasma
or
and
and
and
we've
got
a
store
there
now
and
all
their
different
activities
on
a
Saturday
there
just
is
busy
with
with
their
families
and
some
of
their
festivals
and
traditions.
So
we
really
kind
of
look
at
all
of
our.
You
know
different.
You
know,
supporter
bases
and
go
out
and
do
what
we
can
form
how.
A
I
No
we're
we're
def
stadium,
we've
done
Bob
and
Tim
when
I
first
started.
There
are
two
sections
that
are
available
for
sale,
that
are
ten
dollars
a
ticket
day
of
the
game,
and
so
our
pricing
is
very
affordable,
so
you
can
get
in
for
a
ten
dollar
ticket
all
the
way
up
to
you
know
$55,
so
it's
very,
very
reasonable
and
McDonald's
has
supported
us
and
there's
a
family
four
pack,
that's
forty
dollars.
So
talk.
I
Fc
com
or
235
kick
tickets
are
going
fast,
as
you
would
expect.
People
have
come
out
of
the
woodworks
we're
seeing
we've
had
calls
from
Dallas
we've
had
calls
from
Arkansas
we've
had
calls
from
Kansas.
This
is
the
only
time
they're
coming
and
playing
in
the
region,
and
they
have
it.
They've
never
been
to
Oklahoma.
So
you
better
get
your
tickets
now,
because
you
may
not
have
an
opportunity.
I
I
I,
hope
people
understand
that
this
is
a
a
win
for
Oklahoma
City
from
a
event
standpoint,
from
a
soccer
standpoint
and
from
an
image
standpoint
and
all
the
work
that
you
and
all
of
our
city
leaders
have
done
it
to
help
us
get
to
this
point.
This
is
just
I
think
another
opportunity
for
us
to
showcase
what
we're
doing
here.
All
right.
A
Well,
Jeff,
thanks
for
all
the
work
surface,
you're
doing
to
make
the
energy
something
we're
proud
of
an
Oklahoma
City
and
good
luck
on
the
twenty-eighth
of
June
when
jeebus
comes
in
and
and
takes
on
the
energy
at
tap
stadium.
Thanks
appreciate
it
all
right
and
that's
going
to
do
it
for
this
edition
of
the
mayor's
magazine.
