Description
Follow along with Officer Shannon Todaro and learn about the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare division.
A
A
If
we
can
notice
that
the
animal
may
reside
at
that
residence
or
someone
points
out
that
the
dog
lives
there,
then
we'll
try
to
make
contact
and
resolve
the
problem.
That's
going
on
now,
there's
times
animals
sitting
on
the
front,
porch
door
standing
wide
open.
That's
a
pretty
good
sign
that
that
animal
does
live
at
that
location.
So
what
we'll
do
is
we'll
try
to
make
contact
with
an
owner
at
that
point
to
try
to
get
that
animal
confined
and
correct
the
problem.
That's
going
on.
B
Meeting
with
the
public
returning
their
animals
to
them
generally,
depending
on
situations
we
can
educate,
but
other
times
we
are
required
to
issue
citations.
Those
tickets
can
be
different
things.
They
could
be
for
failure
to
confine
your
animal.
It
could
also
be
for
not
being
current
on
rabies
vaccinations,
which
is
actually
a
very
serious
thing
and
also
securing
those
tags.
A
lot
of
citizens
do
not
realize
that
those
animals
are
supposed
to
wear
their
rabies
tags.
B
It
not
only
gets
the
animals
back
to
the
owner,
but
it
also
tells
us
that
those
animals
are
current
on
vaccinations
by
a
licensed
veterinarian.
So
you
know
the
things
that
we
do
help
the
public
in
different
ways.
Some
people
are
not
always
on
board
for
it,
but
majority
are
and
that's
why
we're
here
we're
here
to
help
them
and
if
they
ever
have
any
questions
all
they've
got
to
do
is
call
and
ask
us.
We
have
different
programs
at
the
shelter.
