A
A
Listening
to
yitzhak
perlman
and
there's
a
band
going
on
on
the
other
side
of
the
wall
and
the
base
is
it's
coming
through
the
walls
and
you
can
feel
it
you're
going
what's
going
on
here.
So
when
they
redesigned
this
building
for
the
master
innovation,
they
wanted
to
create
an
acoustically
fine
hall
and
one
of
the
things
they
did
was.
I
took
the
back
wall
from
191
feet
away
to
123
feet
away.
They
moved
it
all
the
way
up
here
and
they
gave
me
this
five-story
open-air
atrium.
A
Now
it's
called
dead
air
insulation
because
the
the
the
amount
of
air
that's
in
between
apparently
kills
the
sound.
I
have
double
sound
and
light
locks
on
all
doors
and
if
you
come
over
here,
there's
a
seam
that
goes
all
the
way
around
this
building.
Now,
when
this
building
was
built
in
1937,
it
was
built
on
a
riverbed.
Basically,
it
was
built
on
quicksand,
so
the
building
kind
of
floats,
so
in
1997,
when
they
did
the
maps
for
innovation,
they
came
in
here
and
they
sunk
635
cast
auger
piers
down
to
bedrock.
A
So
this
theater
is
sturdy.
It
will
not
vibrate
and
this
little
line.
That
goes
all
the
way
around
the
theater
and
it's
capped
with
a
plate.
Here
is
a
gasket
that
will
prevent
the
vibrations
from
this
side
of
the
theater
going
to
this
side
of
the
theater.
So
there
could
be
dancing
going
on
out
here,
music
in
the
hall
of
mirrors.
The
vibrations
are
not
going
to
pass
through
this
line.
