Nearly
20
years
ago,
I
spent
a
year
as
the
on
the
police
beat
at
the
TV
station,
and
that
meant
that
you
spent
about
a
half
hour
going
through
all
the
police
reports
every
day,
but
I
remember
the
public
information
officer
at
the
time
was
Bill
city
so
fast
forward,
and
here
we
are
I,
also
want
to
make
sure
that
the
citizens
of
Oklahoma
City
received
proper
credit
today
through
three
important
votes.
They
have
directly
and
indirectly
funded.
This
building
part
of
the
funding
comes
from
the
2007
bond
issue.
B
Other
funding
is
coming
from
the
use
tax
associated
with
maps
3
and
finally,
the
public
safety
sales
tax
passed
in
the
late
1980s
is
also
helping
to
furnish
the
building.
So
the
citizens
of
Oklahoma
City
have
prioritized
public
safety
again
and
again
and
again,
and
that
reflects
the
the
priorities
of
the
council
and
I.
As
you
would
imagine,
when.

A
This
this
facility
is
going
to
be
it's
going
to
only
be
about
maybe
ten
or
eleven
percent
larger,
but
it's
going
to
be
a
lot
more
usable
space.
It's
going
to
be
a
lot
more
efficient
and
it's
going
to
accommodate
the
future
there's
space
built
into
this
building
that
will
allow
us
to
expand
in
the
future,
add
more
officers
and
then
someday,
maybe
even
expand
the
facility
itself.
So
with
that
being
said,
I'd
like
to
invite
our
political
leaders
to
come
up
and
grab
a
shovel.
