High

a

representative
of
Ward
one
today
I'll
be
reporting
on
the
boards
and
commissions
of
the
Convention
and
Visitors
Bureau
of
Oklahoma
City
and
what
is
happening
in
Ward
one,
the
Grand
National
Morgan
Horse
Show
is
October
5th
through
20th
at
the
State
Fairgrounds.
It
is
estimated
to
have
11750
line
work.

What's
going
on
in
Ward,
1
is
the
Public
Works
crew,
recently
repaved
Northwest
23rd
Street,
east
of
Sara,
Road
and
west
of
Lake
Overholser.
This
road
serves
the
route
66
park.
The
route
66
park
is
getting
improvements
that
are
being
funded
by
the
2007
geo
bond
included
in
the
project
as
Oklahoma
City's
first
field,
which
is
made
of
rubber,
that
is
intended
to
host
leaks
for
people
with
disabilities.
Construction
for
this
should
be
completed
in
late
2018.
This
is
just
one
of
the
many
and
new
exciting
things
happening
in
Ward
1.

So
opening
up
down
the
street
from
buttermilk
on
October
28th,
they
have
their
Magic
Lantern
night,
where
kids
can
come
and
create
costumes
and
masks
and
dance
with
professional
dancers
in
the
street
and
decorate
pumpkins
and
every
Saturday
from
9:00
to
noon.
There
will
be
a
farmers
market
and
then
in
the
Asian
district
to
be
on
the
lookout
for
one
of
your
favorite
restaurants
to
be
on
delicious
destinations
on
the
Travel
Channel
some
time
soon.

Arts
Association
Board
met
in
August
and
discussed
some
very
important
topics.
For
example,
they
discuss
their
partnership
with
cleats
for
kids
for
the
past
two
First
Fridays,
the
men
again
September
20th,
where
they
set
up
the
certified
tourism
ambassadors
to
have
a
tour
at
the
Paseo
area
for
marketing.

ribbon-cutting
featuring

regarding
the
Oklahoma
City
Airport

Transportation
Commission
on
the
Will
Rogers
World
Airport.
The
terminal
expansion
will
be
out
for
bid
on
October
18
herzog.
The
streetcar
operations
contractor
has
almost
filled
all
of
their
positions.

Embark
transportation
will
begin
running
and
testing
non
revenue
service
on
the
downtown
Loop
in
the
next
couple
of
weeks,
also
starting
on
October
18th.
Lastly,
embark
will
also
be
a
sponsor
for
the
Midtown
walk
about
on
October
20th
from
1:30
to
6:30
p.m.
at
10th
and
Hudson
stop.

City
Chamber
of
Commerce,

amazing
things

member
service

organization
which
is
dedicated
to
enhancing
the
quality
of
life
in
South,
Oklahoma,
City,
and
also
providing
leadership
and
a
united
voice
for
business
and
community
development.
The
South
Oklahoma
City
Chamber
of
Commerce
is
integral
to
the
South
Oklahoma
City's
economy
and
businesses.

now
they
are
working
on
offering
affordable
advertising,
marketing
and
sponsorship
opportunities,
as
well
as
leadership
training.

events,
so

businesses

create
new
networks
and

attend
Harding,
Fine,
Arts,
Academy
and
I
represent
Oklahoma
City
at
large.
Today,
I
will
be
talking
about
the
street
murals
that
are
going
to
be
designed
in
Oklahoma
City,
so
Oklahoma
City
has
taken
an
unprecedented
step
towards
the
integration
of
arts.
There
are
going
to
be
three
new
art,
murals
displaced
and
in
the
intersections
of
Oklahoma
City
neighborhoods.
This
neighborhood
lead
project
is
meant
to
bring
out
the
vibrancy
of
the
many
cultures
in
Oklahoma
City
murals
such
as
these
have
already
been
placed
in
Denver,
Portland
and
Minneapolis.

Two
of
the
three
murals,
the
talavera
Roja
and
the
Talavera
Azul
will
span
twenty
by
twenty
feet
and
the
largest
the
clasp
will
be
26
by
43
feet.
The
cost
of
the
murals
are
being
split
between
the
Mid
American
Art
Alliance
and
the
Community
Development
Block
Grants
mayor
Hall
has
been
a
big
advocate
for
these
Commission's
and
encourages
them
to
be
placed
in
other
cities
throughout
Oklahoma.

high

seniors

college
fair
for
many
high
school
seniors
of
the
OKC
PS
district.
This
college
fair,
gave
valuable
information
to
high
school
seniors
for
all

colleges
from
all
over
the
state
of
Oklahoma,

Halloween
approaches.

the
Earlywine
Park
YMCA,
Fall
Festival,

hosted

gubernatorial
debate

which

Parks
and
Recreation
commission's
report.
At
the
last
Parks
and
Recreation
Board
meeting.
They
approved
the
request
from
the
vertical
bridge:
that's
in
conjunction
with
t-mobile,
to
build
a
new
cellular
tower
on
park
property
at
North,
Grand
Boulevard
near
the
police
station.
Also,
registration
for
leagues
and
sports
programs
are
now
available
online.

programs
include
baseball
basketball,
slowpitch
softball,
flag,
football
soccer
and
futsal
to
register.

can

go

the
athletic

Also
with
Halloween
around
the
corner.
The
myriad
Botanical
Gardens
will
be
hosting
pumpkin
Ville
from
October
5th
through
October
21st.
They
will
have
over
20,000
pumpkins.
They
will
have
a
hay-bale
maze
and
lots
of
fun
for
kids,
such
as
pumpkin,
decorating,
cider,
pressing
storytelling
ghost
stories,
and
if
you
come
in
costume,
you
can
have
an
opportunity
to
win
additional
prizes.

plaza
district
recently
held
two
big
events
during
the
month
of
September,
the
first
one,
the
plaza
district
festival
was
held
on
September
29th
from
11
a.m.
to
10
p.m.
which
attracted
25
to
30,000
visitors,
this
free
festival,
celebrated
art,
food,
music,
community
and
all
things
local.
Secondly,
they
also
had
their
monthly
event
called
live.
This
event
was
Oktoberfest
themed
with
paws
abeer
walk
a
stain
holding
contest,
bunin
braids
bar
provided
by
Paul
Mitchell
hair
school,
a
German
food
truck,
live
music
from
School
of
Rock
Edmund
in
the
fashion
show
by
Prairie
Rebellion
next
month.

riverfront,
Redevelopment
Authority
would
receive
the
permit
fee
of
two
thousand
one
hundred
and
eighty
dollars
upon
a
recommendation
by
trustees.
Staff
will

the

through

streets
will
be
hosting.

School
Institute
today,
I
will
be
sharing
some
exciting
information
on
Ward
7,
the
Oklahoma
City
Community
Foundation,
and
its
parks
and
public
space
initiative
donated
an
eleven
thousand
five
hundred
dollar
grant
to
the
Oklahoma
Christian
University.
The
grant
will
be
used
to
fund
o'seas
Eagle
trail
beautification
project
40
new
trees
will
be
planted
which
allow
oklahoma
oklahoma
christian
university
to
enhance
the
health,
cultural
and
recreational
needs
of
citizens
in
oklahoma
county.

In
addition,
the
annual
greater
grads
career,
fair
will
be
held
later
on
this
month
at
the
Cox
Convention
Center,
in
which
nearly
1,000
local
college
students
will
get
to
meet
with
Oklahoma
employers
about
Oklahoma
internship
and
career
opportunities.

Deer,
Creek,
High,
School
and
I'm,
a
co
representative
of
Ward
8.
They
I
will
be
giving
you
the
commission's
report
on
the
Oklahoma
City
Water
Trust,
which
is
currently
participating
in
several
projects.
One
project
is
the
addition
of
a
second
Atoka
pipeline
that
will
be
a
hundred
miles
long
and
provide
the
city
with
water
until
2060
and
hopefully
beyond.
Another
project
going
on
is
the
replacement
of
over
20
miles
of
water
and
wastewater
pipes
that
have
deteriorated.
This
will
reduce
service
disruption
and
maintain
reliable
service.

a

exciting
things
happening
around
Ward
8
on
September
22nd,
the
Friends
of
multi-sport
incorporated
how
they,
the
Redman
charcoal
on
and
on
September
28th,
st.
Jude's
Children's
Hospital
had
a
run,
walk
at
Stars
and
Stripes
art
to
promote
children's
cancer
research.
We
have
both.
These
events
were
a
success
and
everyone
who
participated
a
great
time.

City
Council
approved
a
permit
for
a
five
to
ten
thousandth
tee
soccer
facility
that
could
later
serve
as
the
home
to
the
Oklahoma
City
energy
soccer
team.
That
location
is
currently
at
Chisolm.
Freak
councilman
Stonecipher
was
notified
to
service
the
vice
mayor
for
a
six-month
period
starting
on
October
9
Ward
8
is
very
excited
first
Stonecipher.

Council
members,

their
homes,
schools,
friends

community,

serving

members
learn
about

government,
its

goals
and
successes.
