youth
council
is
a
partnership
between
the
city
and
leadership,
oklahoma
city,
the
18,
youth
council,
members,
learn
about
the
challenges
of
local
government
firsthand
and

program
provides
them
with
an
effective,
meaningful
channel
to
influence
decisions
affecting
their
homes,
school
friends
and
community.

serving
the
members
learn
about
local
government,
its
components,
processes,
goals
and
successes.

am
representing
Ward
1
and
I
am
from
Western
Heights
High
School
in
Ward.
1
work
is
being
done
on
two
roads
to
be
widen.
Britton
road
between
rockville
and
macarthur
should
be
finished
this
upcoming
year
and
was
voted
on
by
a
bond
project.
The
two-lane
road
is
being
widened
before
and
there
will
be
a
sidewalk
on
the
south
side.
The
second
street
is
will
share
between
council
and
county
line.
It
will
begin
this
winter
and
is
expected
to
be
finished.

may,
2015
north
of
cooper
middle
school
farm
land
was
sold
to
Habitat
for
Humanity.
They
will
soon
begin
building
a
neighborhood
for
single
families
off
of
10th
and
check
Hall

plane
unit
development
is
being
discussed.

area
use
will
be
diverse,
mixed
with
multi
family
living
apartments,
senior,
sis
and
living
and
commercial
offices.

and
bureaus
beer
bureau
is
organized
as
a
division
of
the
greater
Oklahoma
City
Chamber
of
Commerce.
The
bureau's
operations
are
funded
by
the
city
through
a
contract
under
which
it
provides
convention
and
tourism
services
for
the
city,
with
its
professional
staff.
A
hotel
tax
collected
by
the
city
on
all
hotel
and
motel
room
printed
in
the
city
provides
the
primary
source
of
the
funds
paid
to
the
conventions
for
its
services.

mission
of
the
convention
is
to
contribute
to
the
economic
well-being
of
oklahoma
city
and
its
citizens,
through
the
selected,
solicitation
and
servicing
of
the
conventions
and
other
group
businesses
to
promote
city
as
a
first
class
visitor
and
tourism
destination,
and
to
enhance
the
name
and
image
of
the
city.
Here
are
some
major
accomplishments
of
the
fourth
quarter.
There
were
45
international,
national,
regional
and
state
conventions,
meetings,
events
and
sports
activities
that
this
represents
feature
estimated
direct
spending
in
oklahoma
city
of
more
than
30

million.

of
289
motorcoach
group
tours
were
hosted
in
oklahoma
city,
with
the
direct
spending
impact
of
over
2
million
dollars
and
seven
confirmed
equine
and
livestock
events.

would
result
in
an
estimated
direct
spinning

nine
point:
eight
million
dollars.

service
changes,

the
elimination
of
three
routes
resulting

proposed

an
increase
in
single
fare
trips.

Lift
fares
they'll
be
hosting
a
series
of
public
meetings
throughout
the
city
October

through

comments
on
the
proposed
improvements.

increases
could
be
implemented

as

trust
recently

plans
to
construct

modern
streetcar
route
framework

miles

track

connect

downtown
transit
center
intermodal
hub

Center,
midtown,
brick
town
and
will
run
one
mile
from
the
park.
Projected
cost
is
between
99
and
109
million
dollars.

maintenance
costs
are
between
two
and

dollars

car

for
the

The

This
month,
a
few
things
are
going
on
in
Ward,
5.
First
of
all,
after
the
May
twentieth,
tornado,
Briarwood
Elementary
was
relocated
to
Emmaus
Baptist
Church,
a
company
called
kaboom
came
in
and
organized
for
a
playground
build
while
Briarwood
is
at
emmaus
nike
funded
the
whole
event
and
over
300
volunteers
came
in
to
help
next
doctor
or
we'll
be
having
his
ribbon-cutting
ceremony
this
weekend
as
the
newly
rebuilt
or
family
farm
reopens.

Six
on
friday,
September
27th,
the
last
heaith
festival
was
held
with
over
8,000
people
attending.
It
was
one
of

greatest
events
held
on
Hudson
and
an
eighth
Street.
One
of
the
biggest
draws
to
this
event
was
the
local
food
trucks
being
big
truck
tacos
in
KY
techie
ramen,
several
bands
were
featured,
including
them
apples
and
my
personal
favorite

in
the
most
superiors.

the
plaza
held
its
final,
its
annual
positive
district
festival
on
Saturday
September
28
over
40
local
visual
artists
were
featured
such
as
Chris
Neil
and
Josh
quails.
The
festival
had
a
variety
of
activities
for
children
during
the
day,
making
it
a
great
family
event.
The
positive
district
will
also
be
hosting
its
monthly
night
on
the
plaza
Friday
October.
The

event
provides
a
fun
and
energizing
outlet
for
local
musicians.
Artists
and
vendors
attendees
can
expect
to
hear
good
music,
see
great
local
artists
and
eat
tons
of
delicious

responsible
for
improving
developing

maintaining

city's
property
along
the
North
Canadian
Oklahoma
River
corridor.
Former
mayor

mayor
Rick
Ronn
norwick,
serves
as
the
authorities
chairman
and
the
assistant
city
manager.
Dennis
Clower
serves
as
its
general
manager.
The
authority
meets
monthly,
usually
on
the
fourth
Tuesday
of
every
month
and
the
city
chamber's.

August
to
27th
meeting
the
OCC
rra
approved
a
project
m3r
005,
a
Maps
3
Oklahoma,
River
phase
2
project
to
improvements.
These
improvements
include
LED
accent,
lighting
on
all
towers,
including
the
Chesapeake
finished,
our
and
other
future
towers
to
countin.
The
new
improvements
also
consists
of
access
ramps,
along
with
a
new
scoreboard.
The
project
is
said
to
be
on
track
with
its
budget
of
four
and
a
half
million
dollars.

downtown
streetcar

one
of
the
biggest
of
the
voter-approved

construction
projects.
Construction
will
begin
in
2017
and

thrilled

addition,
the
Oklahoma
City
downtown
Santa
Fe
train
depot
received
an
over
13
million
dollar
grant
to
be
redone
after
several
months
of
dispute
over
what

turn
the
depot
into
and
I'm
going
to
turn
this

my

giraffes

time
in
the

and

being

zoo
and

Turnpike
recently
debuted

Lane

both
east
and
westbound
sides
of
the
highway.
The
speed
limit
was
recently
restored
to
70
miles
an
hour
from
the
previous
55
mile
an
hour.
Speed
limit,
that's
been
enforced
for
the
past
few
years.
Throughout
the
construction

fiftieth
street

MacArthur
to
highway
74
is
currently
under
construction
in
order
to
widen
it
from
due
to
four
lanes.

a
new

pediatric
facility
is
to
be
built
at
Memorial

on
the
south
side

trust
regarding
the
economic
tres
negotiations
were
recently
authorized
with
AT&T
concerning
a
plan
to
move
a
project
management
hub
to
the
city
to
boeing
projects
are
currently
underway
to
relocate
285
jobs
here
from
long
beach,
california
and
800
to
900
jobs
from
wichita
kansas
all
over
the
course
of
the
next
five
years.
The
trust
recently
approved
an
eight
million
dollar
grant
to
go
towards
improving
the
softball
Hall
of
Fame
and
stadium
and
regarding
aqua
or
the
Oklahoma
City
Water.
