From YouTube: OKC Youth Council 2011-2012 - February 2012
Description
The February meeting of the OKC Youth Council.
A
Welcome
to
the
monthly
meeting
of
the
Oklahoma
City
youth
council,
the
Youth
Council
is
a
partnership
between
the
city
and
leadership.
Oklahoma
City,
the
18
youth
council,
members,
learn
about
the
challenges
of
local
government
firsthand
and
the
program
provides
them
with
an
effective,
meaningful
channel
to
influence
decisions
affecting
their
homes,
schools,
friends
and
community,
while
serving
the
members
learn
about
local
government,
its
components,
processes,
goals
and
successes.
C
C
It
went
from
eight
thousand
eight
hundred
and
eighty
seven
to
nine
thousand
eight
hundred
and
eighty
eight
and
there's
also
the
project
Mike
Dover,
which
improves
park
development
and
it
will
increase
the
twenty
7576
dollars
in
Capitol
Hill
High
School
got
an
increase
for
their
streets
of
17,000
and
forty
six
dollars
and
all
the
streets
in
the
ward
for
district
got
an
increase
of
17,000
and
forty
six
dollars.
So
there
will
be
a
lot
of
construction
going
on,
but
it
will
look
beautiful
whenever
they're
done.
That's.
My
word
for
report.
Thank.
D
You
hello,
my
name
is
Dmytro,
wear
them
and
I'm
going
to
be
doing
a
Planning
Commission.
The
application
for
AT&T
mobile,
the
patella
telecommunication
tower
is
in
progress,
so
that
is
a
good
news,
also
the
application
by
first
Enterprise
bank
to
dedicate
the
private
streets
within
Bella
ranch
phase.
One
addition
to
the
public
look
at
in
north,
south
east
89th,
street
and
east
of
indian
meridian
is
also
in
progress.
Thank
you
very.
E
Hi,
my
name
is
Megan
Isis,
a
diet
in
Putnam,
City,
North,
High,
School
and
I'm,
an
at-large
representative
here
in
Oklahoma.
It
says
that
the
weather
changes
like
the
stock
market,
but
one
thing
we
can
be
certain
of
tornadoes.
That's
why
the
city
is
proud
to
announce
its
safe
room
rebate
program.
If
you're
planning
on
building
a
safe
room
in
the
near
future,
you
may
be
eligible
for
a
rebate
about
275
percent,
the
cost
of
construction.
You
can
apply
online
at
OKC
govt,
but
hurry
because
the
deadline
is
februari
15th
and
was
spring
fast
approaching.
E
A
program
like
this
couldn't
come
at
a
better
time.
For
years
ago,
the
mayor
gave
the
city
a
challenge
to
lose
collectively
1
million
pounds.
This
announcement
led
to
the
launch
of
a
website.
This
city
is
going
on
a
diet,
calm
dedicated
to
connecting
people
currently
in
the
struggle
for
a
healthier
lifestyle
and
to
track
the
city's
progress.
Well,
I
have
an
exciting
announcement.
We
did
it.
We
hit
the
million
pound
mark,
which,
I
may
add,
is
also
the
collective
weight
of
100
elephants.
E
It's
just
one
more
thing
that
goes
to
show
that
there
is
no
limit
to
what
this
city
can
do
and,
of
course,
in
celebration
of
this
fact,
mayor
Mick
Cornett
gave
the
annual
state
of
the
city
address
this
past
January
nineteenth.
The
mayor
was
full
of
glowing
nudes
about
2011
from
the
fact
that
we
were
ranked
the
most
economically
secure
city
in
the
nation
to
the
growing
tourism
sector
to
all
the
exciting
Maps
projects.
Even
the
news,
water,
zoo's,
new
baby
elephant.
E
The
mayor
did
concede
that,
while
public
health
is
improving
steadily,
there
is
still
much
more
room
for
more
improvement,
and
most
of
it
will
need
to
come
from
citywide
cultural
changes.
He
ended
by
pointing
out
that
it's
going
to
be
tough
for
2012
to
match
2011,
but
he
has
faith
in
the
citizens
of
Oklahoma
City
to
make
it
happen
once
again,
I
couldn't
agree
more.
That's
all
for
the
out
large
report
now
to
Jack
downs
for
commissions.
F
Hello,
I'm
Jack
downs,
I,
attend
bishop
mcguinness,
Catholic
High,
School
and
I'm.
An
at-large
representative.
The
maps
three-quarter
Shore
plan
was
reviewed
by
various
maps,
three
subcommittees
as
past
month
and
studied
by
atg
and
its
sub
consultants,
Hargreaves
&
associates
and
Jonathan
rose
companies.
The
quarter
shore
plan
envisions
to
build
and
connect
a
series
of
neighborhoods
parks
and
economic
opportunities
that
would
reinvent
downtown
Oklahoma
City
lead
to
new
jobs
in
a
higher
quality
of
life
for
its
residents.
F
This
extensive
plan
involves
the
creation
of
a
world-class
pedestrian-friendly
boulevard,
the
development
of
a
70-acre
downtown
park,
the
development
of
business,
retail
and
mixed
housing
along
the
park
and
the
construction
of
a
conventions
that
are
in
the
convention,
center
hotel
and,
finally,
the
relocation
of
some
of
the
existing
businesses
and
homes
in
the
area.
The
research
recently
completed
confirm
that
the
Cordish
or
plan
had
no
major
flaws
and
that
only
minor
changes
should
be
made
to
the
plan.

in
the

that's
